The dragons are coming. The Groln invasion is accelerating. Cities are blasted into smoking, bloody rubble. In the midst of carnage, consumed by guilt and temptation, Lirak struggles to learn the limits of his powers and the secrets of his past. Even as the war rages to new heights of barbarity and slaughter, an ancient threat emerges, sending the gods themselves into panic and desperation. Lirak will need more than sorcery to survive.
The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc series in books are usually never as good as the 1st. I was quiet impressed that this 2nd book in the series started out a bit slow, but grew into so much more than the 1st. The characters became even more alive and the story just pulls you in. Looking forward to the 3rd in this series. Well done Sean Golden. Well done.
