Normal? Everyone is trying to act Normal, but there is no clear definition to what it is. We all end up confused. We look up to society for guidance and we find a strong influencer - Marketing. It tell us how to act, what to think, and who to be. But marketing is contradictory, overwhelming, and driven by self-interest. It promises us happiness, but instead give us obesity, debt, and depression. But is happiness still possible? It is! By simple virtue of having the right information and changing how we think, we can dramatically increase the quality of our lives. And if everyone is suddenly happy, how different our world would be?
Happiness is NOT evasive. There is a formula we can follow to become as happy as we always wanted to be. The only reason we may think otherwise is because society follows a broken formula of happiness, which simply does not work. In my work, I state exactly what we need to do to reach our happiest potential (Optimal Happiness). I even created a course called "The Last Course on Happiness You Will Ever Need", which explains A to Z of happiness in an easy, complete, and no-fluff way (please check my website). Following this formula, we might not get happy overnight, but at least we will know what are the next steps we need to take which will take us in the right direction. The bottom line is that most of the current suffering that exists in the world today is completely unnecessary. We can live lives we always wanted and we can make this world into a wonderful paradise for all, but first we need to change our thinking.
I was not sure if I was going to enjoy listening to this book because many self-help books are boring. Mr. Russo had a lot of pragmatic and thought provoking facts and advice. I agreed with many if his awareness that we all want to be happy but may not know how to achieve it. A well known ideal of ' misery loves company's is very true. Positive people attract other positive persons. I know of a few people who would benefit from this audiobook to stop being miserable. They see everything in a pessimistic attitude, which is annoying.
Narrator Craig Richards had an uifting and enthusiastic attitude to match his pleasant voice. I admit there were sections I found a bit boring but listening made those parts tolerable.
This is a fascinating audiobook full of simple to follow advice as well as stories about “happy” people who against all the odds still live life to the fullest. The stories are sometimes sad and sometimes funny but ultimately this was a good read.
There are so many self help books on the market relating to happiness. After all, everyone wants happiness right? If not for themselves, for their loved ones. Roman Russo has spent six years focusing on exploring happiness, what makes people happy and unhappy and what pillars uphold lasting happiness. As a result he has created a very broad ranging study. Each of the 7 chapters is broken down into bitesize pieces of information. Areas include positive psychology, religion, philosophy, emotional intelligence, differences in other countries levels of happiness, materialism, family dynamics, money, work and so much more. Clearly a lot of work and thought has gone into this book. There were some areas I found interesting and I would use them to signpost me to further reading. (There certainly were many references to people and books throughout this book which encourage you to delve deeper should you want to). Conversely there were some areas I found myself either scratching my head wanting more in depth information as to where he drew his conclusions, or I just plain disagreed with. I don’t think this book, on it’s own is going to significantly improve my happiness levels, however there were pieces of information which were interesting and may lead me into further study. It was almost too far ranging for me in it’s scope, but casting a wider net the author will certainly have something to appeal to most people. The narration was very good. The narration was positive and upbeat which made the content flow.
This is an amazing book on how to achieve the highest level of happiness with an in-depth approach at what true happiness is and how to apply the fundamentals of happiness into six easy to follow sections. The title is PERFECT! Roman Russo shares his own experiences and lessons, so it’s relatable and easy to understand. This is a MUST read. Craig Richards did an amazing job narrating. I highly recommend this book!
This book was a really great read. If you are struggling with finding happiness or need some advice / tips on being happy totally recommend. Was given this book by the author for a free and honest review.
