Mercy is passionate about a lot of things, but writing is definitely the top of the list. Having traveled near and far she's fascinated with the details of life and bubbling with stories both sensual and magical. She was bitten by the writing bug at a very young age and continues to pursue her goal of writing full time. She enjoys living her own adventures but often finds herself getting lost in the adventures of her characters. Dedicated to perfecting her craft, and enjoying all that life has to offer, she looks forward to the next story with the practiced avarice of a seasoned connoisseur. Living in northern California doesn’t give her too many opportunities to hobnob with the undead, but that doesn’t stop her from imagining what it would be like. The vampires in this book were totally unlike any I had previously read about. The first few chapters was slow going due to all the strange terms used. One has to hold the book in one hand and a copy of the glossary in the other hand. A list of seventeen terms with so-called definitions that were as clear as mud. Finally, I just plowed through letting the terms go over my head and got down to the real, thrilling adventure of Lutien & Destyni. Lutien is part of a team of Noble Protectors that protect the secret of the vampires from the humans and enforce the laws within the vampire community. He meets Destyn and discovers she is his mate. Being his mate, she shouldn't be involved in the work she is doing. Through his investigations, Lutien opens up a whole can of worms of illegal activities. Fantastic imagery! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Four stars.

I'm always game for a steamy vampire tale and this one caught my eye. The world created here is original and intriguing, but with the very detailed glossary of terms - terms that are almost like another language - it reads more like high fantasy than a vampire romance. The blurb is a little misleading on the setting, giving no clue about the alternate world created in the book. It is a novella length book and by the time I got everything straight in my head, I was at the end (ie. words like Todesgeist, Sangeisten, Denkin, etc.) The romance was good and I feel like the story itself could've been quite interesting had I not been so distracted with learning what everything was. It was just too much of the unfamiliar crammed into too little pages.

First time reading from the author.

The story was okay. Lutien and Destyni were likable characters. They had chemistry with some erotica mixed in. Then there was characters I did not like Tien and Jyn. In some spots it was hard to follow for me, but I kept reading along as best I could. It was entirely different from other vampire books I have read.

Even though Lusten had trained all his life, he wasn't prepared for Destyni. Things are tough and a lot of secrets abound, but he is destined that he'll protect her no matter what. I felt like I needed a glossary to follow along and understand as the terminology was Greek to me. This book has a different twist than the other vampire stories that I've read. Chemistry and some erotica. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Lots of action and loads of steam and with that said, it is however very confusing and distracting with the terminology used as I had to continuously refer back to the beginning glossary. If the reader had to study and learn all the terminology before starting to read then it may be a flowing read.

This was not a normal vampire/human book, which I liked. They lived among each other and the humans knew that vampires existed. This is a quick and interesting read and I look forward to reading more of this series.

Another hit from KB and the CAOS MC group. I once again loved the story, characters and couldn't put this one down. I think I liked this one even more than Mick. I am so looking forward to see what is next in store.

This is the first book I've read by this author and it was an okay read. In my opinion it was too short. I didn't feel like I really got to know the characters that well. Maybe if it had been longer there would have been more of a chance of that. I also got confused at times with trying to understand some of the terminology. Like I said, it was okay. I'll give another story by this author and chance.

Lusten is book 2 of a series about vampires with a different twist. Destyni is a stripper who is given to Lutien for a week. I had a little bit of trouble following along, not having read Book 1, and I think it would be helpful to give a little more back story to the characters and the world they live in. I thought it was a good steamy book overall, but the scenes are written in a way that I had to re-read sections to figure out what was happening, and I think a little more explanation would be really helpful.
