A study that reconciles herbal lore with modern medicine includes an introduction to the history and philosophy of herbalism, a list of herbs that shows how they work and answers questions about their safety, and an index-by-ailment.
Truly, as with so much else I read, this is study, very wonderful in and of itself. So - I am going to mark this as 'Read' but I expect not only to be reading for the remainder of the year but perhaps for the rest of my life:)
So far, so inspiring. It reads like the utlimate text book for this generation. It is one among many - (Including Culpepper, of 40 years ago and still working for me - so, one among many - but cohesive, intelligent, magnificently researched, self evidently used and proved - and, before all else, a work that not only explains, but points to the matters that we need to consider, simply to be an intelligent and sensitive practitioner.
This is a book that is likely to become a companion. I may update this review - perhaps in six months, and then thereafter.
