Jodie is a recent college grad who’s finally lined up an interview for a job in her field, not knowing that she’s never going to make it there.
While riding the subway to get downtown, a mysterious blue substance falls from the sky, encasing the train car and trapping everyone inside. As if this wasn’t bad enough, it doesn’t take long for the passengers to realize that amongst them is a killer.
Think “Clue” with an alien blob apocalypse and you’ve got an idea of what this book is about.
I really liked the author’s detailed descriptions of characters and events. I did guess the murderer early on, but there was still soooo much going on, it was a pretty good read.
The only thing I would’ve like to see would be more explanation about what was actually going on outside the train. With the gangs in the mall, why the man tell Troy & Jodie they didn’t want to know what was going on? Was this a global event or limited to Toronto? What ended up happening with Eric?
The voters against killing the murderer all exchanged contact info, so an epilogue with an email update of sorts on how everyone was doing would’ve been nice to see. Especially as you do become invested in each of these people.

A really good disaster of a different kind. The characters in this book were very easy to connect with and feel for. It is a horrific situation, being trapped on a train with a bunch of strangers,( people are the worst) and then add in some very weird, unknown blue globs falling from the sky and you got yourself a neat little sci fi, kind of horror story.
Good read! Made me wonder what I would do given the same circumstance. I thought the characters were believable and varied - a true slice of the mix of people with whom one might share a subway. The story kept me enthralled. However, for pure thrills alone, I liked her Merciless even more. But highly recommend this book.
