A fun read with a few sparse themes regarding economics and war. I feel like I learned a little but dredged through some long chapters.
Bonner uses a few German, French, and Italian words that I could understand and includes landmarks from Zurich! Having been there recently, it made the story a little more real.
Good LORD this was bland. The characters had few interesting quirks, the pacing was all over the place (two days in 3 chapters to a whole month skip, etc), it had mildly anti-American undertones, and overall was a struggle to read. It's really no surprise this book hasn't had a reprint and I wouldn't recommend anyone read it.
