Tried the audio this time because I love Iggy Toma. He did make Jaden sound like he smoked a pack a day, but other than that the audio was really enjoyable.

---------------------------------------

This was a quiet book. A book that made me relax and just let me sink into the story.

I’m not sure why some quiet books bore me to death and others just get this calm enjoyment from me. And it may not have been a mindblowing story, it was a book that made me smile.

Jaden’s father walked out of him and his mom when he was just a little boy. He doesn’t remember anything about him. So when his grandmother dies and he finds out he has 3 brothers, he isn’t sure how to feel about that. All he knows is that he is now part owner of a gym, and a house, in the small town of Serenity.

Since Jaden just lost his job and his husband of 9 years left him for a younger college student, he knows he has nothing to lose by going to Serenity to meet his brothers and to figure some things out about his life.

When he arrives in Serenity he finds 3 brothers who are very excited to meet him and who want to get to know him. But Jaden isn’t sure he should let anyone get close. He feels he is not worth getting to know so he doesn’t share a lot about his life. And that makes him a hard man to get to know.

But he didn’t count on Chase, who befriends him on his first day when he gives him a lift after Jaden runs out of gas. Chase isn’t deterred in the slightest with the no trespassing signs Jaden is broadcasting.

After that first day the two end up spending a lot of time together, since Chase is already friends with Jaden’s brothers. But Jaden is still not sure Chase is gay or if he’s just being friendly. But if he wants more with Chase he needs to let himself get vulnerable..

I really liked the sweetness of this story. And I loved the calmness of the little town. The descriptions of the hot weather made me sweat at times, but because of little details like that, it made me feel more connected to the characters and the town.

I do have to say there were a couple of things that didn’t make a lot of sense and were never followed up upon. Like Jaden’s refusal to drink from Chase’s water bottle. That was just weird. And never mentioned again. It would have been nice if there was somewhat of an explanation for his behavior. I’m guessing it was a bit of OCD, but I’m not sure.

And at first I thought I was reading a sequel of some kind, because the whole father/grandmother/brothers thing wasn’t all that explained. I could eventually puzzle all the pieces together, but some things were left unexplained and made me a bit confused.

But despite these little niggles, I still ended up enjoying this. There is almost no relationship angst and the steam in this was exactly right, not too much, not too little.

An enjoyable, quiet read, perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

I wanted to see who I was when no one else was around. Turns out I’m the same as I am with him. He didn't change me. He lets me be me.

I think Meg Harding steadily becomes a favorite author of mine because Finding Home is another satisfying read. There is a charming tenderness to this story with a slow burn(!) relationship development that perfectly fits my taste.

Recently lost his job and separated from his cheating husband of nine years, Jaden Matthews comes to Serenity, Florida, after his passing grandmother leaves Jaden a part-time ownership of a gym with his three half-brothers, whom he never knows existed. Jaden hopes for a change of pace in Serenity, a short vacation to maybe clear his head and to get back on track, while sorting out the business. He doesn't expect his half-brothers wanting to get to know him better. And he surely doesn't expect Chase Michaels...

I fell in love with Jaden right from the very beginning -- his quietness, his uncertainty, and his awkwardness when facing with three half-brothers and people who don't seem to understand personal bubble ... I was very much drawn into that.

I loved how Ms. Harding makes that personality of Jaden NOT as weaknesses, but more of like his quirks, a real part of Jaden that makes Chase loves him nonetheless. Jaden doesn't completely get a makeover by the end of the book. He's still Jaden but he is ready to be selfish, embraces chances for himself rather than trying to please others and not to rock the boat.

I loved Chase for befriending Jaden, for taking Jaden the way that he is, and of course by slowly letting Jaden out of his shell. Plus Chase teaches yoga and he has soft heart for rescued animals. How can I not love this guy as well?!

Jaden and Chase's relationship is sweet and fulfilling, and I was having a wonderful time being in their company. I actually wish for more chapters so I can feel secure with their HEA. Or maybe Ms. Harding can somehow return to this town -- maybe with a certain bisexual brother *wink*

Meh. I enjoyed the MCs and the story, although it was very predictable. What plagues this author every time, though, is a need for content editing. Her MCs ramble thoughts all over the place. They're long-winded, and it gets tedious. Cute story to read for in-between others, but not something I'd rush to read.

Finding Home was as great as the title and the cover suggest.

So, obviously, I'm a big, big fun of the cover and I think the title was perfect for the story. Jaden and Chase are a case of opposites attract. They couldn't be more different yet they fit together with ease. Jaden is high strung and under a lot of pressure from himself and from his mother. At the point of the story, he goes through a lot of changes in his life with a recent divorce from a cheating husband and his new unemployed status. He mainly needs to relax, do things that make him happy and start living for himself and not according to what other people expect from him.

Chase is pretty laid back. His big change in life happened years ago and he has adjusted well in his new norm. He is happy for the most part even if he feels a bit lonely at times since he lost his dog. He is a yoga instructor and also owns a smoothie place. He likes the beach and is best friends with Jaden's half-brothers.

Those two meet on the road by chance when Jaden needs help but they end up spending a lot of time together. Jaden is supposed to stay only for a few weeks and then return to New York and Chase knows that from the start but they are still being pulled together so they decide that a casual arrangement is the best thing until Jaden leaves.

They start with casual dates and hot sex but there is always something that feels deeper when they are together. They know whatever they do has an expiration date so they label it casual and no dig deal in order to justify being together but their dates don't feel casual. They talk about everything and they reveal to each other a lot of things. Their dates are planned and not just a thing they must do in order to end up in bed together later. They enjoy each other's company and they don't want their time together to end.

Jaden has always done what other people told him to do so he is not confident in himself, he isn't even sure about who he is without the influence of others. So their time apart was a requirement in order for Jaden to feel secure in his identity, to find himself and be confident that being with Chase is what he really wants and not just something that feels safe.

There is laughter in this book and some great side characters. Are we getting Phoenix's story? I want to see him again!

And let's not forget Magneto. He had presence in the story, he was a fully developed character with a personality of his own. I loved the big softy, slober and belly rubs and everything about him.

4.5 stars and highly recommended.

There’s much to be appreciated about a quiet book. Sometimes I crave the peaceful lull of turning pages and Meg Harding gave me exactly what I needed with Finding Home. This story is virtually angst free and rather predictable but nevertheless very much enjoyable.

Jaden’s carefully constructed life is falling apart. When he loses his job and his husband leaves him, the floor beneath him caves in. He follows his mother’s advice and heads south to meet long-lost family and cash in on his share of his grandmother’s estate. What he discovers during this escape to Florida is his “house of cards” life was constructed by everyone but him. And perhaps having it knocked over will allow him a fresh slate to start again. It’s time for him to discover who Jaden is, and not who everyone else expects him to be. His journey with his furry son takes him to four men, who fill spaces in his heart he never knew were empty. Care to hop in for the ride? I’ll pack the snacks!

What's to like: This is my first novel from Harding and I found her writing style delightful. Characters are most definitely her strong suit but I was equally captivated with the charming setting. The small town busy bees made me chuckle…I think I need one of Phoenix’s rescues…and I would love to try one of Chase’s smoothies! I left the city almost a decade ago and think Harding nailed the essence of small town life. It was quiet. It was relaxing. It was comforting. *passes bag of jelly beans* It was lovely.

What's to love: I’m not surprised Chase won Jaden’s heart with a blink of an eye because he won mine too. A reckless moment destroyed the future Chase thought he’d have but in turn allowed him a second chance at life. Since then he has embraced the living in the moment motto. Life is too short for hesitations and regrets and he takes what he wants, and what he wants is Jaden. He is painfully aware of their ‘ticking clock’ but focuses on the joy and bliss of being with Jaden. Jaden is far from ideal dating material, he’s still married for heavens sakes! I’ll admit this is typically a turn off for me…but not this time. The timing wasn’t the best, their situation wasn’t ideal but love is not always ‘convenient’ and that’s the cold hard truth. What they have can’t be denied. I adored the meddling brothers, feisty animals and their courage to take a leap.*offers string of licorice*

Beware of: I can’t really say it’s instalove but it’s fall-really-fast love…and I adored it. As I mentioned earlier Jaden is separated and going through a divorce, but you will find the life he left in NY was a fabrication even if it was by default.

This book is for: If you are looking for a smooth and gentle romance, I believe this will carry you exactly where you want to go.

*4 stars*

I don't think this author's for me, it's a slow, slow, slow story where nothing bites deep. At 40% I couldn't take any more. The side characters were marginally more interesting than the uber bland main ones, but no-one felt real. It was 'happy families' with no tension and that felt completely unrealistic in the circumstances. The situation is contrived, predictable and boring.

There's a lot of telling rather than showing events, complete with descriptions, I know more about Chase's home furnishings than I do about him. He's either laid back confident or nervous the author can't decide. And I'm more interested in Jaden's dog than I am Jaden, and how the poor mutt was being left alone so much.

Clearly going to be a series, a few characters with 'forever crushes' lined up.

I quit. I was after an easy angst free read but this proved frustratingly dull.

From the moment Jaden comes to Serenity, Florida he's welcomed, helped, and included.

I loved Harding's initial descriptions of Florida and Jaden's thoughts about the area and animals. I pretty much chuckled whenever it was brought up. As a Florida girl I could appreciate it, you know what I mean?

Jaden gets to know the three half-brothers he never knew he had, and gets to know the grandmother who died and left him a piece of her business and home.

Chase, who is friends with Jaden's brothers and helps Jaden when he first arrived in town, is interested in Jaden from the start, and their romance moved along pretty organically.
“I’m comfortable with you. With each day I show you a little more .” He kissed Chase’s Adam’s apple and then sighed a warm puff of air onto Chase’s neck. “You make me want to indulge my inner dork. I’ve worked really hard to suppress him, you know?”
Chase’s heart felt like it cracked right down the center. He tugged Jaden in, swallowing him in a tight hug. He was overwhelmed by too many emotions at once. He wanted to hide his expression before it revealed all of his feelings to Jaden and complicated this even more . He buried his face against Jaden’s neck. “I know.”

This is a really quiet romance. There's no drama or anything moving the story forward...it just progresses along without conflict.

Told from both Jaden and Chase's perspective, I enjoyed the dual POV and getting to know both characters. They each open up to each other as they go along, falling a little bit more for each along the way, even though they both said they wouldn't.
“I fucking love you. You came into my life and knocked every last one of my walls down in about five seconds flat. I completely lost my mind over you. I want to split Chinese takeout with you after a long day of work. And I want you to meet my cat, because she’s a perfect, evil angel. You can hog the bed and steal the covers. I want it all.”

This is a sweet, no angst, no drama, romance with likable characters and a lovely HEA that would be a perfect summer read for the beach.

A short enjoyable read!

I love a good character driven book that has very little to no drama. I like how easy they are. I like that they don't make me think and I am able to just enjoy the book and escape reality for a bit. This book was one of those reads. It doesn't have a lot going on but yet you find it interesting because of all the different characters. So of course I enjoyed it.

Jaden Matthew's has never met his father. He doesn't know his father's side of the family although he did spend some time with his father's mother when he was very young. Unfortunately his grandmother has passed away and in doing so she left him part owner-ship of a gym. Who own the other part? His 3 half brothers he didn't know he had until now. His brothers and the gym are in Florida and his life is in New York. But his personal has recently taken a dive and has left him living with his control freak of a mother once again. He comes to the conclusion that this would be the perfect opportunity to get away on a little vacation to not only straighten his mind out and but also get his life back on track. What he didn't expect is to arrive and fall in love with not only his siblings, the town, but also a man named Chase.

Chase thought he was pretty happy and settled in his life. But when he pulls over and helps out the guy stuck on the side of the road, he finds himself intrigued with the anxious man and his big dog and thinks maybe his life has been pretty lonely until now. He knows that Jaden is leaving and he will probably end up hurt, but he can't stay away. He finds in Jared what he didn't know he was missing.

Jaden was a quiet guy who was unsure how to feel about his new siblings. Especially when they were so excited to meet him and how eager they were to get to know him. He kept himself pretty closed up for awhile and had a hard time sharing things about his life. But eventually he let down his walls and began to build a strong foundation with his brothers.

The relationship between Jaden and Chase was sweet and drama free. I loved how their relationship developed.

I honestly couldn't stand Jaden's mother. She wanted to make all his choices and then take no blame for those choices when they blew up in Jaden's face. He was to blame as well for letting her control him so much. But he only had her in life so I can understand wanting to please her. I'm glad in the end he found his voice and strength to live his own life.

Great read! Give it a chance dolls!

Happy reading! xx

3.5 stars!! I really loved Chase. Jaden got on my nerves a bit. He seemed selfish to me at times. I know that was kind of the whole point of him finding himself and standing up for himself but it still annoyed me. I loved Phoenix, Elliot and Zane.

I liked this book but I didn't love it.

This was a gentle breeze off a book and I enjoyed the first part of it so very much. I loved exploring the small town and Jaden getting to know his brothers and Chase. I enjoyed the build up of Jaden and Chase's romance. Then things got a little slow and sloppy. Huge time jumps and I was just waiting for Jaden to be stupid enough to leave. When it didn't happen I was hopeful, maybe he wouldn't leave. But he did, really late in the book. This left the author little room of them exploring their relationship and they only got together for like the last one or two pages of the book and I felt a bit robbed.

The cover though, it is stunning.

I love books about family and in this case we had Jaden meeting his three half-brothers, Elliot, Zane and Phoenix. I liked Chase well enough, though he had me shaking my head a few times. Jaden, I had issues with. I know he was written as a doormat type character on purpose but I had a difficult time getting beyond that. Even so, the love story was a nice slow burn and I really enjoyed it.

A Joyfully Jay review.

Honestly, there was very little not to love about Meg Harding’s new novel, Finding Home. The three half brothers were compassionate and hungry to know their newfound sibling, the town was quaint and, while nosy and in Jaden’s as well as everyone else’s business, was a take care of its own kind of place, and the best friend/developing love interest, Chase, was perhaps the most likeable of the bunch. The story line was fresh and believable and the writing itself was fast paced and well done. I would have to say that this novel (my first by this author) has lead me into looking into Meg Harding’s other work most assuredly. But I think the real winning ticket here was how honest her characters were about themselves and their views on romance.

I really enjoyed watching Jaden grow and change and I loved the dynamic between him and Chase. These were two genuinely nice guys who both deserved to be loved and the slow discovery of finding each other and their feelings was really gorgeous to read. Theirs was a slow burn of a relationship and, with brothers cautioning both of them to not get involved since Jaden made no secret of the fact he would leave in a month, the romance took on a sweetness that was nearly heartbreaking when Jaden left. The highest praise I can give this novel is that I desperately want a sequel to see how these two get along in the future.

Finding Home was a novel of self-discovery and appreciating that elusive thing called family. It was a story that urged it’s main characters to put down roots and enjoy what life has to offer before it’s too late. Meg Harding gives us a beautiful romance that will most likely be a reread for many–I know it will be for me.

This is another winner for me from Meg Harding.

Finding Home is a character driven quiet romance with low angst combined with sweet and extremely sexy moments. It was the perfect read on a Sunday morning during a holiday weekend.

Jaden Matthews and his Great Dane, Magneto, are on his way to a town he’s never been, to meet three half-brothers Jaden never knew existed at all because his late paternal grandmother they share whom he never met left him part of a business and her house. Jaden has nothing to lose after being laid off from his job and left by his soon to be ex-husband after he cheated on him with a med student, so why not drive from New York to Florida to finalize the things he never knew he had to move on with his life.

But visiting and then staying in a town called Serenity for a high strung guy like Jaden is bound to have all sorts of consequences.

Chase Michael’s had the world at his feet as a star college football player on the path to and NFL career when one night of too much partying and a bad decision changed everything. An accident that messed up his shoulder and leg forced Chase to rethink his life and fall back on the business degree he earned. Laying down roots in Serenity, opening a smoothie shop and becoming close friends with Jaden’s family was never his plan, but the town has a way of welcoming you in and never letting you go. It’s a small town thing right along with raccoons that hold you hostage from your front porch and sea turtles laying eggs on the beach.

The meet cute with Jaden and Chase was super cute because rescuing a stranger on the side of the road always turns into more and Chase and Jaden have chemistry immediately. Though both men do not know the other is gay, they form crushes and settle for friendship that moves along beautifully.

The memory of their Grandmother and who she was to her family and the town was bittersweet. Everyone loved her and her office filled with binders, pictures and notes shows how much she loved her family, even her asshat of a son who donated his sperm, but never took responsibility for the children he created. Jaden’s brothers were a complete joy to have in this story as it is one that focuses on family, a theme I am beginning to associate with the author. Jaden had never met his brothers, Phoenix, Zane and Elliot but considering the men arrived in Serenity in much the same way Jaden did, it’s not surprise that they want to get to know him and immediately take ownership of him as their brother. I loved each of the “Bannister boys” for many reasons but I have soft spot for the one with the long blue hair with his love for all animals and being their knight in shining everything but after a slip at the beach when discussing sexuality… I want Phoenix’s story and I kinda want it bad.

But back to the romance of Chase and Jaden. Both men know that Jaden is only there for a short amount of time to settle the new affairs he acquired from his grandmother. They know this and don’t deny their attraction mutual attraction and fall into one another with eyes wide open. Their eyes aren’t the only thing that’s open and with every “Can I try something?” from Jaden, he and Chase open their hearts to one another. Their time spent in bed was smoking hot with a side of small serving of kink from a bossy Jaden that both shocks Jaden for doing it and Chase for liking it. But it’s all what happens out of bed that is the romance and how Jaden, who has been repressed by making everyone else happy, is finally able to let his dork out and just be his true self because Chase lets him. It was adorable watching Jaden let go and let Chase in, even if neither of them are ready to spill their souls to one another.

The moral of the story is that pressure can be a bitch, and it doesn't matter where it comes from. At some point we have to realize we need more than one priority, and those priorities shouldn’t interfere with our well being. Figure out what you want, and do the selfish thing for once.

That quote right there is the moral of this story really. It’s too often that we can get caught up in doing for others that we forget to do things for ourselves. Even when we think we are being selfish, we tend to put others first and that can lead to a miserable existence. Jaden needed to learn this but needed to learn it where we could let go and find his own peace of mind.

I really liked that the story felt realistic down to the last word. As the reader you know where things are going and why you don’t want separating of angst for Chase and Jaden, you know it has to happen. It’s a good thing that end was totally romantic and so damn worth it.

Now I have to add…

The only thing for me that didn’t make this a five star read was terribly picky on my part and totally personal. For Chase to teach yoga, it bugged me that the first class he taught in the book didn’t make much sense. I’m not a professional, but I’ve been practicing daily for over two years and could not figure out what positions he was getting students into without giving any of them a name at all. Then we get that he was in Kapotasana on the beach, which is a very advanced pose in the second series of Ashtanga Yoga, and we were given the Sanskrit name of it out of the blue instead of calling it Pigeon Pose. It was just really odd to go from Chase giving no name to the poses before and then nailing this one. I am not sure why this pose was chosen, but including how it’s a back bend plus a heart opener could have added to Chase needing it at that moment and what deep poses like that can do to emotions. It’s ridiculously picky on my part, but it bugged me to the point I couldn’t see Chase as this yogi who practices authentically as he was supposed to. Even if some of yoga sounds new age-ish or hippy etc. using the language, even the non-traditional names for it give more meaning as it seems to be applied to Chase and not just some class he teaches like step aerobics.

Anyway, gripe aside I really loved this story. I liked the romance, I liked the family dynamics and I liked how the town of Serenity became a character as well with its own charms. I am going to say again, a book about Phoenix exploring more than just a one off would be amazing and I’ll leave it at that.

Book & Author: Finding Home by Meg Harding
Rating: 4.5 stars
Another new to me author has given me everything I wanted and more!

Jaden Matthews, like his brothers, lived a life not knowing their dad. The man was aloof and flighty at best. Jaden handles the coming to Serenity as any person would. With doubt of finding a place for themselves, with the uncertainty of what they will find, and with a tiny bit of hope that they will find something new. Although the story was definitely low angst, it wasn’t without it’s intense and deep running emotions wrapped up in a stumbling relationship of four brothers trying to find where they fit together and what was supposed to be no strings relationship with someone who feels like home.

Chase Michaels has his own loss to contend with. But coming out the other side finds him stronger and happier than he ever thought he could be. Life is life, and nothing is perfect but if you take it day by day things will be good. Jaden was unexpected in his life but he wanted, and he was selfish when it came to him. Chase was this guy who was sturdy and strong but also needed someone to lean on.

Jaden and Chase were cute and quirky together. I loved the playfulness and light that Chase brought to Jaden, especially when he needed it most. The sexy was hot and beautiful and showed that chemistry they had in every encounter in action! I loved how the brothers, who were also best friends with Chase, were protective of not just Chase but of Jaden too. I could’ve kicked Jaden’s mom a few times but she is who she is, and Jaden had to find his own way. Meg gave us the gorgeous vistas of Florida without having to actually visit, and the setting was perfect for this story.

The black moment was sad and heartbreaking, but I completely got it. I will definitely be reading more from this author if Finding Home is anything to go by.

Finding Home really is the perfect title for this lovely story. Because Jaden – who’s not sure what to do with his life after he lost his job and then his husband of nine years left him – really does find home in this story.
Not only does he find a home but he also finds himself. It does take him a while, but slowly but surely he realizes that he can (and sometimes really should) put himself first. All his life he tried to please everyone else, but when he learns that he has three brothers and inherited a quarter of his grandma’s house and business, he has the opportunity to forge a new path. Although a new path sounds like he changes completely – he doesn’t. I guess the best way to describe it, is that by the end of the story he’s more himself than before.

I really, really loved this one. Meg Harding has quickly become an author I know I can trust to deliver a beautiful story that’s mostly light and fun. I devoured Accepting the Fall and Marc’s the Spot, so I was very excited to read this one too. I was not disappointed. Finding Home is a quiet story, without a lot of action or drama, but honestly it doesn’t need it. This book was perfect to just sit back and relax. It didn’t take long and I was emerged in Serenity, the little town Harding has created. It just has this charm typical for a small town where everyone knows everyone. I’ve lived in a couple of those before and Harding captured that feeling perfectly; it set the perfect background for this story.

I adored the growing relationship between Jaden and Chase. It’s just so tender and cute. The first time they met was adorable and funny. And seeing them grow steadily closer – and ultimately fall in love – was just beautiful.

Another thing I greatly enjoyed was the evolving relationship between Jaden and his brothers. I loved to see each brother individually forge a bond with Jaden; it felt natural and so seamless. And I liked how each of Jaden’s brothers character developement was clear and well done, but didn’t overshadow Jaden’s story. Instead the information complemented the story nicely to round it all up.

All that remains to be mentioned now is that I want Phoenix story! He needs to get his own book, pleeease?

description

Jaden Matthews never knew his father. He and his mom moved when he was little after his father left her. Now he's found out his grandmother has passed, and included him in her will. A trip to Florida is in order to handle business there, and meet his half brothers, and maybe a special someone too.
Jaden was only raised by his mother, who didn't show a lot of affection. He always felt the need to please her, and that followed into his marriage as well. I felt he really needed that separation after his divorce. Going to Florida was the perfect segue into his future. Meeting his brothers, Zane, Phoenix and Elliot was very overwhelming for him. Meeting Chase Michaels was exactly what he needed, but didn't realize.
Chase lost everything in an accident ten years ago. Making a new life for himself in Serenity Springs, Florida, he refuses to fall for someone who's just visiting. After all, they would only have one month together. Jaden does something to him though. The chemistry can't be denied. Hearts are on the line and chances are taken.
I loved the story line here. Everything is described beautifully and the story is believable. It had a slow build, but was very easy to keep reading. I wasn't bored at all. Both characters were well developed and I loved the fact that they were written as normal people with flaws and all. I really enjoyed Chase and Jaden's brothers helping him get through a tough time in his life. Seeing Jaden become who he was meant to be was heartwarming. It was great that he followed his journey all the way through. This was my first Meg Harding book and I was extremely pleased with it. I'm definitely looking into more of her work after reading this one.

Review coming soonFinding Home is the third book I read by Meg Harding and I’m now ready to say I like this author’s style quite a lot. With this new release she gave me everything I want in a story. The plot and the setting are very well done and the writing is pretty good.

What I truly loved were the characters, all of them, not just Chase and Jaden but the three brothers too, Zane, Elliott and Phoenix. How they were inclusive versus a new brother never seen and who is ready to take off them their grandmother’s inheritance, the same grandmother he never actually saw. Nonethless they were ready to show Jaden the beautiful town they lived in, hoping they will be able to persuade him to stay and live close to them. I think they set a good example and very few people in their places would have thought with the heart and not with the wallet.

I just hoped to have a little more about their own personal stories, I know Finding Home isn’t the three brothers’ book, but a little more would have made the story more complete. The same critic I have to move to the MCs and that’s the only reason why I haven’t rate the title higher. Although I enjoyed the novel a lot and I knew some of the MCs’ backgrounds, I missed something I can’t quite put my finger on to truly connect with Jaden and Chase, I saw their hearts but I wasn’t able to feel them. But this is just a sensation I had due probably to just my mood.

Anyway if you’re looking for a sweet and light story to relax, give Finding Home a chance. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

I love the cover art, it’s simple and clean but eye-catching and easy to remember.

Free listen on Audible between credits.

After losing his job, Jaden’s husband of 9 years announces he’s been seeing someone else and wants a divorce, and then Jaden finds out his estranged grandmother has passed away and left him 1/4 of her inheritance. This is also how Jaden finds out, in his mid 30s, that he has 3 brothers, and finds himself travelling from New York to Florida to meet them and sort out the inheritance business. And maybe he also falls in love with Chase, who’s sworn to keep his distance from people not intending to stay in town.

This novel was off to a slow start, and I actually paused it to listen to something else instead, but decided in the end that I would power through. The last 1/3 or so of the book is where I really got interested and started to care about the characters. At the start, I just really struggled to keep up with the amount of names (Jaden, his three brothers, Chase, and other side characters, and even pets), but it got easier. Whilst it was a little predictable, I did like both main characters and it was an okay story. It felt like it wasn’t so much a love story as it was Jaden finding himself and what he wants, through finding family he never knew he had, with a love story included in that.

4.5* of deliciously sweet hotness

I really enjoyed this read. It is an original story, with some lovely characters and a level of acceptance and family that has me wanting to visit Serenity for myself. I guess with a town with such a name it is hardly surprising, but it only through subtle and simple examples that we get to understand just what a great place this is. Jaden's half brothers are a fascinating mix of caring and accepting. Jaden has never had such friendship, or the opportunity to be himself - something that Chase catches onto early, and makes it his mission to achieve.

There are lots of little touches of brilliance, that make this such an enjoyable read, from a Great Dane to a dumpster kitten; a drunken art class; a beach vigil for baby tortoises; and a little black book full of addresses for the brothers' errant father. Everything adds together to make a super read. Thank you Ms Harding.

This is a sweet and thoughtful romance. It is a story as much about family, identity and life choices as it is a romance. After losing his job and getting divorced, Jaden travels to rural Florida from NYC to sort out his grandmother’s estate with his half brothers. Broken and lonely, Jaden expects to sort out his inheritance quickly and return to the city. Instead, he finds himself attracted to the friendship offered by his brothers, the warmth of their small town - and to Chase, his brothers’ attractive yoga teacher friend.

I actually like the way the author spends more time tracking Jaden’s personal growth than she does building the relationship between Chase and Jaden. There are plenty of sexy moments but it is Jaden’s quietly readjusting priorities, his newfound sense of identity, belonging and family that I found really moving.

But the romance is sweet and often steamy. Chase has suffered his own setbacks but when he meets Jaden, he is solid in himself and confident in his life. He brings balance to Jaden as he grows and I enjoyed the lack of relationship angst here. Jaden has enough angst in his life - he needs Chase’s serenity.

Jaden’s brother’s are fascinating and I’d love to read more about each of them (especially Phoenix and his animal sanctuary). I loved their quirky small town and the legacy Jaden’s grandmother left behind.

Just as his life is falling apart, Jaden finds out his paternal grandmother, who he's had no contact with for 30 years, has died and left her home and business to him and 3 half brothers. He travels to Florida with the intention of selling his portion to them. Once he meets them, and their friend Chase, his plans go out the window. He finally finds the love and family he's been missing with the four men.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and could barely put this down. All the characters were well fleshed out and I was invested in the story. Nothing seemed forced or done with the intent to cause unnecessary drama or strife, in fact there really wasn't any relationship drama. There was a little miscommunication, but it didn't really affect my enjoyment of the story too much.

5 Stars

Meg Harding is a new-to-me author- one I'll be sure to read in the future. I was immediately drawn into the story from the first page, enjoying Jaden's narration, then Chase's. My only complaint was *till* used so often in place of until. I know this is a big debate: till vs 'til vs until, but it felt off using till in the body of the book instead of simply in dialogue as a more laid-back form of speech. It kept tugging me out of the book for some reason, when I'd never notice if an 'until' was used in till's place.

Jaden is coming 'home' to Florida, after being raised in NYC by his mother, because his paternal grandmother passed away, leaving a home and business to Jaden and his three brothers- brothers he's never met. Their father is a wanderer, seeding the earth, and those children found their way to the grandmother.

Whether MM or MF, I'd love to read more from Jaden's brothers.

In the midst of a divorce, Jaden and his large pup are eager to get out of the city to clear his head.

Chase worked for Jaden's grandmother- now Jaden and his brothers- and is the best friend to the brothers. He has his own crosses to bear.

Tension, chemistry, and a meeting of the minds, Jaden and Chase are an enjoyable pair of characters to spend a few hours inside their heads. The reader is thrust on a journey as both find their own way to happiness, no longer living up to other's expectations.

Be selfish isn't always a negative. We only have one life to live, and we should live it instead of merely being the passenger to more controlling family members.

I highly recommend to fans of MM romance, and I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

A lovely story, a town I want to visit, people I’d like to know, and both a learning about himself and gentle but true love story, and the most loveable dog. Oh, also, a new author to follow and enjoy and a very good narrator. This, because I just happened to have the pleasure of listening to it as an audiobook.

I just loved this book. I didn't want it to end. I really hope the other brothers get their own books. Jaden is going through a divorce and finds out his long lost grandma has died and he has half-brothers. On his way to meet his half-brothers his car runs out of gas and he meets Chase who offers to help him. Chase is friends with Jaden's brothers and is instantly attracted to Jaden not even knowing if he is gay or not. Jaden is so out of his element. At times Jaden seems almost childlike in some aspects. Jaden's brothers are super sweet and really want to get to know him. I fell in love with every character in this book and I couldn't put the book down. Sweet love story with a wonderful dog thrown in the mix and a cat too. If the author wasn't thinking about making books for the brothers I really wish she would. Phoenix first please :)

This was a great second chance story. I loved seeing Jaden and Chance build a relationship and they had great chemistry. I really hope this isn't the last we've seen from this family- I loved Jaden's brothers! I hope we see more from them starting with Phoenix.
