L'art contemporain

Des objets incongrus, des gestes excentriques, mais aussi des photographies, des vidéos et des peintures de facture traditionnelle, voilà ce qui constitue l'art contemporain. Quelquefois, ces oeuvres étonnent ou choquent. Elles suscitent en même temps la curiosité, au point de s'y perdre un peu. Aussi, pour qui s'aventure dans le monde de l'art, l'auteure de ce livre fournit des repères et suggère quelques pistes de réflexion. Depuis quand l'art "moderne" est-il devenu "contemporain" ? Pourquoi les artistes ont-ils voulu transformer le rapport des spectateurs avec les oeuvres ? Et quand les frontières avec la mode, l'architecture ou même des objets rituels deviennent floues, peut-on encore faire entrer cet art dans une définition ?Ce livre révèle en quoi l'art contemporain est avant tout un espace ouvert, une aire de liberté pour penser et agir différemment quand les idéologies et les systèmes philosophiques qui nous guident sont en crise.

تسعى كاترين مييه في هذا لكتاب إلى توصيف الفن المعاصر و إنتاج مفهوم نقدي له ، من خلال دراسة تاريخه نشوئه ما قبل آندي وارهول في بداية القرن الماضي و حتى منتصف التسعينات ، و ذلك من خلال الاستعانة بأمناء المتاحف العالمية المهتمة بالفن المعاصر ، ثم من خلال المفاهيم الفنية التي حاول نقاد الفن تقديمها في دراساتهم ، فالفن المعاصر هو فن لحظي في الضرورة ، يمارس عملية تأريخ للمجتمع و التغيرات التي يمر فيها هذا المجتمع و ذلك من خلال انتحال صورة الشارع الغير مُنْتَبَه له ، صورة الشارع الغير واردة في الفن القديم و الذي كان فناً برجوازياً بامتياز حيث أنه ينشأ و يظل في دائرة الطبقات العليا في المجتمع مع تغير هذه الطبقات ، فالفن المعاصر من حيث كونه وسيلة تعبير هو رؤية الفنان عن العالم باستخدام وسائل مغايرة للأدوات الفنية المُستخدَمة من قبل الفن القديم .
بالإضافة إلى هذا فإن هذاالفن بوصفه أداة تعبير و تأريخ اجتماعيتين إلا أنه غير متجاوز لزمانه ، فهو محصور في نطاق تاريخي معيّن لا يمكن تجاوزه ، ليس بوصفه غير صالحاً بل لأن بعض أدواته غير قابلة للاستمرارية باعتبارها وسيلة منتهية الصلاحية .

أنصح بقراءة الكتاب ، فأنا كرهت كتابة قراءات للكتب .

Well written, well documented without being horrid. The name dropping is kept to a minimum but the text holds together and guides the reader through the history and ambiguity of contemporary art.

One might need to have knowledge of the contemporary art world but you can also look up the artists Millet chooses as point of entry to that world and how it evolved and grew and where it might be going.

It's also a thoughtful text on our way of life and how the works contemporary artists are creating reflect that life.

I liked it a lot. I took notes and I have now other avenues to explore and artists to discover.

I need to mention upfront that I am giving only 3 stars from the perspective of a person who has very little knowledge on the topic and read this book to get a bit more familiar. Maybe a more advanced person would find the book informative, but for me it was just a long series of references I did not get.

ترجمه اصلا خوب نبود. یه سری از اصطلاحات رو خودشون ابداع کردن کاش معادل فرانسه یا انگلیسی اون در پانویس میاوردن. مثلا هنر بالفعل!
