THE FIRST EASTER by Carol Heyer, in simple words and a gentle conversational style, tells of the tragic events of the last week of Jesus' life and the glorious first Easter Day. Young children will find this a perfect "first book" for understanding Easter.
Heyer's illustrations, with their rich and brilliant colors, will appeal to readers of all ages as they enter the world of Jesus and become participants in the events of THE FIRST EASTER.
**Like my reviews? I also have hundreds of detailed reports that I offer too. These reports give a complete break-down of everything in the book, so you'll know just how clean it is or isn't. I also have Clean Guides (downloadable PDFs) which enable you to clean up your book before reading it! Visit my website: The Book Radar.
Ages 4-9? Try telling that to my class of 6 & 7 year olds that couldn’t sit through the full paragraphs on each page, of writing obviously not geared towards children. The pictures were interesting and detailed enough, though, that I could make up my own words as I went.
Virtually the same text as The Easter Story by Carol Heyer, but with different, larger, slightly updated illustrations. While it is quite a bit of text, I'm possibly going to use this for our 5 yr old class.
This book is the story of Jesus and how we got to celebrating Easter. I like that this story covers so much of Jesus' life, but it lacks detail about each part. This is why I think that this book is great to use as a reminder of what Easter is about, but not as an introduction.
