Flower deliveryman and aspiring novelist Matthew Darcy never expected to become the object of anyone’s affection, let alone attract the attention of someone like billionaire Calvin Croft. In fact, two men couldn’t live more different lives than Matt and Cal. But romance has a magical way of making opposites attract.
Matthew Darcy is a romance writer in a rut. He’s been stuck on Chapter One of his new book for as long as he can remember, and so has his love life. But when his on-the-side job as a flower delivery guy puts him in the right place at the right time to save the life of billionaire banker Calvin Croft, Matt’s life takes an unexpected detour toward romance.
With billions to his name, Cal Croft has everything… except someone to love. But is Cal’s paparazzi-pursued life something that Matt is willing to take a chance on? Can a struggling romance writer who delivers flowers for a living possibly have anything in common with a handsome billionaire with his own Learjet? And could the secret that Cal’s keeping tear these two lovers apart—just when their romance begins to blossom?
The Billionaire's Boyfriend is the first in a series of gay romantic-comedies titled My Billionaire. It is a 50k-word laugh-out-loud story with a HEA ending and no cliffhangers. Expect to be swept off your feet with a fairytale romance, two lead characters who are destined to be together, and a zany cast of support characters to keep you smiling.
Geoffrey Knight is the author of more than 30 gay fiction novels, novellas and short stories, ranging in genre from gay adventure, gay romance, gay suspense and gay comedies.

I'm not one for slapsticks. This was trying so very hard to be funny that I could only roll my eyes. Yes, there were a couple of funny scenes, but most of it was just too much.
I think it was supposed to be funny to talk about Cal's huge, uhm.. appendix at the dinner table, and to have the drunk elderly neighbor grab her date's package all in front of the other neighbor's 12 year old daughter, but I wasn't too amused...
And everyone thought it pretty funny that their neighbor Mr. Banks constantly broke into their homes and was trying to get away from the Russians, or some other crazy story, but to me it was clear that this man was not able to take care of himself and had lost all sense of reality. Yet he lived alone, and no one thought to actually get the man some help.
Not the book for me.
Oh, and fade to black sex scenes. Let's not forget about those.
*** This is a merry romp, emotional, funny, and heartwarming ! Check your reality coat at the door. *** Matt, delivering flowers, saves billionaire Cal from being crushed by a dump truck. It makes the news, and the paparazzi descend. We have a bevy of crazy, quirky, funny characters in Matt's life. There is an impromptu dinner planned and it's at the same time Cal is there, wrapped in a towel, but his good nature joins in and he helps them out. It is insta love, but so much more is going on. Cal has a mysterious person, Angus, he doesn't talk about. There is a trip to Rome... a goofy chase to find Cal at the Guggenheim, the museum, The Met, and the Strawberry Fields, but Matt goes home dejected. Matt's dream has to do with his amazing parents, now deceased, who told him what was important. This is like a rom-com, and ends with an HEA. We have a fun cast with lots of heart. It's the sweet romance writer/flower shop boy and the big hearted billionaire businessman, who find love. ENJOY !
Sweet insta love romance, with lots of humor! Sometimes ridiculous, definitely over the top, but I smiled and laughed out loud through the whole book. And the secondary characters were so unique, I loved them all. :)
(It should be read when you're in a silly, giggly mood, otherwise, if you read it in a serious mood, I'm afraid you'll roll your eyes annoyed.)
Even though I own a fair few of Geoffrey Knight's novels, I'm embarrassed to admit that this is the first one I've read. Thankfully I needed a wealthy mc story for a challenge, and once I dove in I couldn't put it down.
I lost count of how many times I literally laughed out loud, and there were so many feel good moments it was just a pleasure to read.
These are some of the most interesting, fun, and friendly characters I've met in a long, long time, and I hope we all have plenty of folks like this in our lives!
It was like watching the movie “Hangover” rolling from one scene into the other. Somewhat ridiculous silly and sometimes really funny. For me it was at times a bit too much... but... I enjoyed it, there were parts where I laughed or felt sad. Some parts were ott and unrealistic but ehh on the other hand...if it was meant to be like this... who am I... .
When you are in the right mindset you can enjoy a funny hyperactive read, with priceless neighbors who are so close they are more family. The nice trip to Rome was wonderful The developing was enough for now. I’m not sure what to expect from part two... Overall a positive vibrant read.
This was what a good rom-com should read like; tons of humor, a little slap-stick silliness, a misunderstanding to overcome and over-the-top romance. So much fun to read and I adored Tilly. She's only 12 but I want to grow up to be her some day with that self-confidence, self-awareness and wit. (And it wasn't unbelievable precociousness given who she hangs around with all the time and how smart she is.) That whole cast of side characters was just a hoot and a half!
Also, I loved that Cal lived in the same home he grew up in, that even being as rich as he was that he didn't move out to a big apartment on the Upper East or West Side (since that's where his favorite spots to chill are located) and leave .
Definitely putting #2 on the TBR to see how this all works out.
This book started out promising, but quickly devolved into saccharine sentiment, cliched plot devices, and nonsensical shenanigans. Even the humor, which was good at the beginning, became overused and annoying. The hurdle at the end made very little sense, and Matthew was just plain unlikable.
OMG! How I loved this. Laugh? I nearly peed myself. Mattis a delivery boy who saves the life of a stranger. The stranger turns out to be a billionaire. From then on, its a roller coaster of a ride. Some many laughs and a great cast of secondary characters. I felt myself rooting for them right from the start, there was a little angst but all in all a lovely way to spend an hour or 2 on a Sunday.
Man, that was fun!! Fun fun fun! I laughed out loud like crazy. However , the romance is meah . Besides, I got pissed with Cal at the end when he left Matt alone in Rome. He acted like a drama queen. Poor Matt, he just asked who the fuck was Angus. He knew the guy for 2 weeks, he heard him in his office saying I love you to a guy and he heard him saying to his secretary that presumably Matt shouldn’t know about Angus. Of course he should ask who he was. Why should he trust a dude he just met? Cal should have groveled a bit in my opinion. Nevertheless the book is hilarious .
I was enjoying this right up until the breakup at around 85%. It was for a ridiculous reason and just felt like the author was desperate for a plot twist. Anyway, it’s a sweet story, and sweet Jesus on a cheese biscuit I loved Mrs. Mulroney and the other side characters.
I. Loved. This. Book! I’m a sucker for a billionaire story because they (most of the time anyway) are always so romantic. The Billionaire’s Boyfriend gave me that romance in spades. Calvin Croft was so sweet and so sexy, and Matthew was adorable. I fell in love with both men from page one.
Matthew is having a writer’s crisis, but he has the support of a “family” he’s assembled from the tenants in his apartment building. Together, the four of them are charming and absolutely hilarious. He’s convinced he’s never going to find love, and he’s actually stopped looking. As I read his story, I thought how the author could have made him a one dimensional trope, but Matthew is a well fleshed out character with a beautiful heart under all that sarcasm.
Cal? What can I say about Cal? How about dreamy? Swoonworthy? Both? Cal puts every other billionaire I’ve read about to shame. Also, he never does anything halfway. He brought Matthew a new bike –a top of the line, super expensive bike– because Matthew’s was destroyed when he rescued Cal from the garbage truck. Cal offers to take Matthew to lunch, and he rents out the whole place. Of course, he owns it, so it’s all good. When Matthew mentions he’s always wanted to go to Italy to see the Spanish Steps, Cal sweeps him away to Rome in his private plane. All of these things could have served to make Cal seem like the lead character in a bad movie, but in this book, he’s simply perfect.
5 stars. Such fun, very entertaining. Instalove at its finest with a side of rich/poor Pretty Women style gifting. I adore a rich/poor story with lavish shopping/gifting and we get some of that in this book. Wacky cast of side characters that bring great fun and depth to the conversations and antics. Overall super well written, adorable MCs, a bit of drama and angst with a HFN ending. Quick to the love-you part, feels a bit like there was something left on the editing floor, I could have read at least another 100 pages of the getting-to-know-you phase. Luckily there is a second and third book, both smallish.
Book 1 of 3 following the same couple, must be read in order. Not a huge time commitment as the first book is 170 pages, second is 172 pages and the third is 110 pages. Very fast read, always entertaining and always moving forward, a great rom-com romp.
Only quibble is the spice level. There is only one bedroom scene and it’s fade to black with a recap. One lollipop scene, so not completely chaste, but super low spice. Edited to add: there is more spice in the rest of the series!
Billionaires, as far as most of us are concerned, live so far out of range of the ordinary that they are pretty much modern-day fairy characters. Princes or knights, it doesn’t matter, they are way out there. It’s probably why I like reading stories about them (I also love a good fairy tale) and why, when they are lonely despite all their money and really only want to find love, they move a little closer to being a mortal human again. That’s my explanation as well as I can put it anyway, and it’s also why I loved 'The Billionaire’s Boyfriend'- a lot!
A sugary, sweet, cotton candy read. The cast of characters gave me the giggles and I smiled throughout this cotton cute read. If you are looking for a serious, true to life love story, don't read this. It is cute, romantic and has a very out there plot that can only be enjoyed if you are in the mindset to read a goofy story with an even goofier bunch of characters. Enjoy.
“Good grief, falling in love comes with more instructions than an Ikea bookshelf.”
This was a cute, silly, easy read. I don’t tend to read a lot of billionaire books but honestly this one didn’t read like one at all! This story is only from the POV of the other MC so we only ever see the billionaire using his wealth for fun things! This was a bit of a fairy tale, super unrealistic but it’s fiction so didn’t bother me at all. I was in the mood for a cute, fluffy story and this was perfect for that. I honestly didn’t even realize until the end that there wasn’t even any sexy scenes as I was quite enjoying the story.
Matt and Cal were really cute together. Matt was quite hilarious at times and I loved the craziness of his neighbours. Cal was so down to earth and I loved how he was there for Matt and saving the day!
This is part of a trilogy following Matt and Cal but this book left off on a HFN, no epilogue but no cliffhanger. If you’re looking for an easy read that’s funny I recommend this book!
I didn't think I would need tissues. But I did. I needed it to wipe the tears that pooled as I laughed at some scenes. The characters came alive for me. I loved Mr. Banks, Tilly, Angus, and Mrs. Mulroney. Secondary characters, yes, but they made Matt Darcy and his life fulfilling, uplifting, and funny.
I loved how the story began with a chance encounter. And that despite how almost crazy as it sounds, even though Cal and Matt took different paths in life, they had a spark that you feel when you first see them in the flower shop. It's not their first scene together; but it's that moment that counts.
In the end, I had to use tissue when I arrived at the happily ever after moment.
This book really needs a slight warning. Don’t read this in bed. I was laughing so hard that I woke my husband. You thought your family was crazy. Um no. I can’t wait to read more. My favorite RomCom of the year has been sitting under my nose for too long.
I don't think that I've ever laughed so hard at a book before. Matthew Darcy is the perfect combination of snarky and insecure that makes you love him even more. When he saves Cal's life, everything changes for him but he doesn't believe that he deserves it, although he falls for Cal each time they meet. The story has a great cast of secondary characters that bring the story to life, it's Matthew and his feelings for Cal that make the story absolutely wonderful! For a good laugh and a lovely romance, this is the perfect book!
Matt is a flower delivery guy who saved a billionaire from getting hit by a garbage truck, by crashing into him on his delivery bike. From there we go on a funny and enchanting journey through the beginnings of their romance. Matt and Cal are great characters and the antics Matt and his friends get up into are hilarious. I definitely recommend this book.
> > Judging a Book by it's Cover < < A man in a suit, sans jacket, stands before a large cityscape at dusk (presumably), with the sky filled with vibrant colors and the lights of the city all lit up. Dual title font is okay. Author font is nearly missed. Synopsis provides more interest than the cover, to me. I've yet to read any work by this author, so this experience will be completely new to me.
"Chapter One" Matthew is a Romance Writer currently suffering writer's block and delivering flowers for the often tipsy Irish landlady that runs the flower shop downstairs. She also lives across the hall from him. Upstairs is a senior man with a knack for getting into other tenant's apartments without them knowing. Also, a 12-yr old girl, who's mother works three jobs. Logistically, I could not help but feel a little sad for Mr. Banks as he displayed glimpses of mild senility or dementia with no apparent family to check in on him. Likewise, it was sad to see a 12-yr old raising herself as her mother was 100% absent and wondered how she's managed slipping that past everyone. Despite the individual worrisome issues, the four create a unique family of zaniness. With their help, he attempts to overcome his fears of love and put himself out there to live the romance novel that he'd write.
"Your life is about to change forever." Cal is a highly successful investment banker living life at arm's length to protect what he holds most dear. However, when a bicycle delivery guy risks his own life (and his bike) to save him he's struck by how different that felt, how right it seemed. He felt a pull to find, properly meet, and get to know his hero... if they could avoid the media spotlight long enough. There were some over-the-top antics, but this was - without a doubt - a romantic comedy, not to be taken so literally or seriously. Mr. Banks's random antics and anecdotes, Mrs. Mulroney's funny phrases and nips, Mr. Dellucci's persistence, and Tilly's too grown up for her age wisdom provided plenty of fun, unpredictable scenes. Other minor characters provided some laughs as well. I had a few guesses about Angus but was not correct on either. The story moved along at a good pace and was well-written. The conflict should not have been that major and was handled poorly but in the end was resolved.
Overall, if you are looking for a strong, smart Romantic Comedy, you may not enjoy this one all too much. This one is just full fun, full of light and silly stuff that puts a smile on your face all the way through. . Rating: [R] ~ Score: 4.2 ~ Stars: 4

The Billionaire's Boyfriend is pure comedic genius by Geoffrey Knight.
Seriously, every single second of this story had me smiling and laughing. And, by laughing, I mean laughing out loud like a crazy woman while my family gives me weird looks.
Matt and Cal! Their meet story is fantastic, showing us immediately how zany and wonderful Matt is. I mean really, how could one not love Matt? And even better, Matt's hand-crafted family of neighbors are endearing, hilarious, and down right marvelous.
Then there's Cal. The handsome and dapper billionaire. When he's saved by Matt, he invites him to dinner and is captivated by Matt's down to earth life.
After reading this gem, I can't help but to want to be in a room with Geoffrey Knight, Alexa Land and Devon McCormack, just to see who could out-zany the other! All three authors leave you laughing so hard because the things they come up with are just so unexpected! And funny! And often a cute-crude! I am just so happy to have discovered Geoffrey Knight, as not every author can write such good stories entwined with so much great humor. So, yeah, add Geoffrey to my list of dream dinner guests.
As for the love story, it's just entertaining and memorable. Their first date will leave you in stiches, and then we still get more of them! Their worlds couldn't be farther apart, but they still work so well, and get along so well. There are also some serious moments too, as Matt's not easily swept off his feet.
At it's heart, The Billionaire's Boyfriend is an enchanting finding your Prince fairytale, with a whole lot of laughs! Now off to find more Geoffrey Knight books to read!
This story is just the best. I’m not a fan of any form of politician innuendo, especially when it’s a type of negative, so saying that this was such a fun book. It had me chuckling one minute, misty eyed with admiration the next. It gave me moments of nervousness, though I assumed happiness had to be around the corner since they were perfect for one another. This author delighted me with this story and I look forward to reading more. He has given us a lovely happily ever after following a delightful romp through the city and all the way to Rome. .

By the end of the first date, I knew this book and I weren't going anywhere. It wasn't just the talk of "tax right-offs"—annoying, but, hey, even heroes slip up. No, it was MC1 *insisting* MC2 should wear a dinner jacket—to lunch!—(which MC2 paired with jeans) when MC1 had already booked out the whole restaurant anyway. And that classic chat-up line over dessert, "Let's fuck in the limo". Classy this ain't.
I'd actually looked at this because the author wrote an OK book of shorts - Hotel Pens and other Stories. Should have stopped there.
