Elle never believed she’d have it all, but she kind of does. She’s got a fantastic job, a gorgeous apartment, and a smoking hot French boyfriend named Jackson who trips over himself to cater to her every desire. Sure, she never saw herself getting married, but she’s starting to think Jackson might be the man to change her mind. However, when her boyfriend’s dominating mother comes to call, Elle will have to confront more than just her fear of commitment. Jackson’s mother is far more dangerous than her couture clothes and impeccable manners imply. She’s made it clear she’ll do anything short of murder to keep Elle away from her son.

I read Something Borrowed by this author and really enjoyed Elle's sarcastic humour, the only reason I didn't love the book was Elle was a Domme and hot sexy Jackson begging to come was just too much for me.

But this book I couldn't resist, Elle's sarcasm vs Jackson's mother, I know who my money's on.

Knowing Elle from the previous book I have to say this wasn't quite the book I expected. I assumed it would start with Valeraine arriving and it would be her and Elle at each other with Jackson acting as referee.
What actually happened was Elle showed incredible patience with the vile woman and took everything she threw at her without any real support from Jackson and I can assure you the woman was relentless with her digs and insults.
It was only a matter of time before Elle exploded and I couldn't wait.

I like this author's writing style and humour and while the humour wasn't quite as prevalent as I'd expected this turned out to be a nice sharp entertaining read. And lets face it with the epidemic of TSTL females that are plaguing so many romance books these days it's nice to come across a strong independent intelligent and humorous female.
Even the sex (my only real issue before) won me over, well not completely but it was interesting.

And Jackson, not only is he incredibly handsome but he's...

...always on time, even when he wasn’t anticipating hot sex, it was one of his defining attributes, like being handsome, or knowing a lot about cheese.

...and had a tongue like a washing machine on spin cycle.

Title: ➳Something Else
Author: ➳Eve Dangerfield

➦Once you get past the Australian slang, Great sequel for Something Borrowed.

➦Now 2 years later we find Elle & Jackson living together, as you might remember in Something Borrowed Elle dominating presence in the bedroom with Jackson. But she also had anger issues

➦Let’s just say that Elle anger issues were under control in this book. But Elle dominating presence in the bedroom with Jackson had grew stronger, until mommy dearest came to visit.

➦Jackson mother took the whole “Monster in law “to serious ... all I am going tell you is imagine your Mother in law walking in on you & partner in middle of having sex. That’s not picture you want in your head no matter how dominating you might or might not be

➦Eve Dangerfield is newbie to the publishing world & Lil rough around the edges.. All the same she is doing amazing job

The characters have amazing chemistry!
If you want a fun, quick love story, then this is the book for you!

➦I’d recommend this book

➦Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion

It's definitely worth checking out Something...

In Eve Dangerfield's Acknowledgements, she thanks her readers for taking a risk on her books that push against romance readers boundaries (or something like that). Well, I'd like to thank her back, for pushing me past my boundaries and helping me enjoy it.

Something Else takes us on a little trip to catch up with Elle and Jackson from Something Borrowed. Both Elle and Jackson are still blissfully in love and now living happily together. But...there is something evil heading their way. That something could ruin their happiness. That something is...Jackson's mother (shudders).

That woman is pure evil dressed in a pretty package. What I found intriguing was Elle's patience with the woman. The Elle we have come to know and love is not a patient or tolerant woman. She knows that the woman means something to Jackson and TRIES to be understanding. Man, I spent most of the book waiting for Elle to blow, and when she does, I couldn't help but smile.

I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with these characters and seeing where they are at. Elle is still taking her pleasure with Jackson and Jackson is willingly giving her his pleasure. What seemed a little weird to me at first (her dominating) ended up being something, that while not appealing to me, was interesting to observe.

This is a short novella that made me smirk, squirm and sigh. Elle is her usual cranky self and I can't help but love her for it. She's snarky, a little feral and Kinky with a capital 'K'. Jackson, while still a little vain, is completely consumed with his love for Elle but has a brain malfunction when it comes to his mum.

If you enjoyed Something Borrowed you will love Something Else. If you haven't read it yet, I definitely recommend you get cracking. Eve Dangerfield has MAD skills.

This broke my heart. I was in the mood for something angsty with a definite HEA and this absolutely delivered. I found the conflict believable and heartbreaking an in some parts very close to home (I am not having the easiest time with my in-laws at the moment), but thought it was manageable enough that I didn't want the relationship to crash and burn.

“Stripped of all her other roles, the woman in the mirror was primal, powerful, and yeah, beautiful.”

Eve Dangerfield is an author I would say "Hell, yeah!" or more like "Yasssssss!" without knowing what I'm getting myself into. So seriously speaking, this book is like a treat as much as a surprise for me.

Something Else is the sequel to Something Borrowed. So better read that one first before diving into this because, seriously, you wouldn't appreciate nor enjoy this book if you don't.

In here, we see a different Elle. But I love how different she is because her character showed how her relationship with Jackson have made her better. More importantly, it didn't need a lot of character build up even though this is a short read. And Jackson Proveaux, oh la la!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! We get a glimpse of the events leading to the inevitable marriage and how Jackson proposed! As I said, this book is definitely a treat! It also is refreshing since mostly we read about horrible MIL (mother in law) or future and they are either forgotten, or the sweet ones. But a play by play? *shudders*

To Eve, kudos! Another sexy book and another refreshing read! If you haven't read her, I recommend you should check her out!

Omo!

This novella is the continuation of Elle and Jackson's story, a few years later from Something Borrowed. They are a happy couple, living together and in love. But the storm will hit the paradise. Jackson really loves Elle. He wants more, but he is afraid to show her...He knows her too well.
❤YmM❤
Jackson's mother left him and his father when he was a boy and moved to France. She never came back and never care about him and his father. She got married in France and had 2 other kids. She always kept in touch with Jackson, who visited her often. All things were good till Jackson got a girlfriend.

Well....that's not a problem, Jackson always had a girlfriend, no one important, just a girl. But this girl became too important. So important that Jackson didn't leave anymore to France and stayed home with her. So her mother said "Don’t worry boy, mama's coming" The Devil came from hell right on Elle's and Jackson's home and life. The shit hits the fan.

But Elle...I loved Elle. She was great, strong, funny and a real good bitch. I liked her. Jackson...I hated him. Elle should've made him suffer longer...That monster in law got what she deserved. 😁

Overall it was a great book with a great and funny story. I'm not a Female Dom fan, but this author is unique, she just makes it really funny, easy and enjoyable.

I highly recommend!💓

3.5 freaking monster in law from hell stars

My god. Picture the worst mother in law you can think of then double it.. then add a dash of annoying haughty bitch.. then you have Jackson's mum.

This little short nugget was centered around Elle and Jackson after their hate-love affair from Something Borrowed it's two years into their relationship now and the monster in law is staying with them. Ugh, what a horrid woman, she really ruined my enjoyment *lol* and then you have Jackson, this absolutely delicious Frenchman who is devoted to Elle in every way, who doesn't even stand up to his mum when she is a bitch to Elle (and who cockblocked them not once but twice! jeez, knock much, mom!!) I was flabbergasted! Come on, Jackson, what you playing at!! He really let me down, it's not what I want in my heroes. I had to let his smooth french accent seduce me back to his team.

It all works out in the end, he gives good grovel, but it was Elle who made this book for me, I lovedLOVED how she spoke to Monster in Law both during the book and then at the end, it shows how much this angry sarcastic heroine has matured into herself and doesn't take shit from anyone.

I'd definitely recommend both books for a fun romp.

description he would always say in his buttery French accent. “I am yours, I will always be yours,
there is no one I find more beautiful than you. You still have doubts, but that’s okay, in time I will
prove to you there can never be anyone else.

Great sequel for Something Borrowed. Elle and Jackson have been together two years and everything is wonderful. Then Jackson’s sly drama queen mother comes visit…

As always I loved this author’s writing style, it’s very fluent and well written, almost like I was there. It was great visit Elle and Jackson and see that they really got their HEA after the difficulties (ie the mother!)
Loved this novella! I recommend! And ”Something Borrowed” too!

Ah, I loved Elle in Something Borrowed, and here the funny "rage troll" is back. I love her as a heroine. She is a mix of rage, love, strength and vulnerabilities

And Jackson!!

It was an awesome, funny, sexy continuation of Elle and Jackson's relationship. And I loved it!

I have said before, but so far there is NOTHING that I have read by this author that I have not loved. Her characters are different and how she writes is just so absorbing. She needs to be a LOT more well known than she is and again, repeating myself here, she is firmly at the top of my favourite authors list.

If you have not read anything by this author then you really need to get a move on!

A deliciously ragey, sexy treat for fans of Elle and Jackson from Something Borrowed. This was the maniacally mad, funny and tender epilogue of all epilogues, answering that question for the ages: Can you have a HEA when you effing hate his mother?

The author was a new discovery for me last year and this year, I have also discovered that no one writes rage and control issues quite like Eve Dangerfield. I would read a whole series by her about ragey, touchy, bossy, unapologetic women who just want what they want and then to be left alone.

To be honest, I didn't think Elle and Jackson needed another story; but I loved that their new story had them both making mistakes and growing stronger for it. I loved that their quirks and foibles are still there - Jackson is still ridiculously vain and Elle is combustible as always. Their love is so strong, though, that it makes Jackson climb out of his near-sightedness about his mother and gives Elle the compassion and strength to finally put Jackson's mother in her place. I happen to adore my mother-in-law, but I'm going to recommend this to the many friends of mine who hate theirs.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*

LOOOOVE. The novel that first gave me Elle and Jackson really made me love the couple because of their love-hate relationship that only escalated at her bff's wedding week, and Elle was a refreshing heroine to read about when it came to her slight anger issues and dominating presence in the bedroom. She was hysterical in Something Borrowed, and Something Else- despite being less than half the size of the novel -only seemed to make it better for me. It's like seventy-six pages of Elle and Jackson's HEA, but when Jackson's sweet, sweet mother comes to ruin the mood, it's a total battle between the two women Jackson wants in his life.

When I think of the plot in the long run, it's not very complicated and is actually pretty simple: monster-in-law, but without the ring. Poor Elle doesn't even get the rock before her boyfriend's mother is there breathing down her neck in the hopes of driving her away for good. And Elle's got some of the biggest brass you-knows, so she isn't some dainty flower to bend over when someone isn't nice to her. But she really struggled with playing nice against a horrible woman, and as an emotional masochist, I devoured this thing like it was chocolate. Loved the drama, the struggles between the family you're born into and the family you choose. The writing style was great and flowed easily, I forgot I was reading at times. Loved the development, loved the fights and makeups and hot scenes... it's just an overall satisfying stamp of approval for me, okay? Honestly can't express any more without spoiling the thing.

It's a definite recommend of this title and author if you love sexy things with humor, heart and the mad feels that'll get you crying and laughing all in one sitting.

Eeeeek! I loved this! Something Else is the follow on to Something Borrowed and gives us a glimpse into Ellie and Jackson's future.

It's a quick read, but still has that heat and intensity that Eve Dangerfield is so good at bringing! She certainly has a knack for writing this genre, because daaaaaaaamn!

Now, aside from the super sexy times, there's also a bit of drama, and that drama is in the form of Jackson's mother. Man, she is a piece of work, that's for sure. Having come for a visit, she ends up overstaying and putting a little tension into their relationship. She's one of those characters that you want to punch in the face.

Anywho, I won't go into any more detail because, you'll just have to read it and find out for yourself! All I'll say is, super hot, and freakin awesome! I love the ending and the symbol ;)

Well I love this author and her work. She really does push some boundaries and for that I will always be a fan,

Something ele gives us a great well written wonderful story that gets us all caught up with Elle and Jackson.

Yes I love Elle from the very beginning in Something Borrowed and I love her even more on this one. Jackson and her are fabulous together. This book brings on the MIL from hell and gives Elle a run for her money but you have to read this to find out what happens.

Once again this author wrote a flawless story with great characters and I look forward to reading more from her.

Sexy, steamy, hot.....and then the Mother-In-Law arrives

I love Elle and Jackson in SOMETHING BORROWED. So, when given the chance to read another story with these two wonderful characters, there was simply no way i was going to turn that one down. SOMETHING ELSE lived up to all of my expectations, it was humorous, witty, sexy, tearful, but above all it was another brilliant piece of writing from Ms Dangerfield.

SOMETHING ELSE is a short novel that brings in the dramas of the mother-in-law from h**l. As we all know, from reading the first book, Elle is not a pushover. How Elle did not kill this woman amazed me, her restraint was amazing. But when she is pushed to her limits and does finally let go - it is simply brilliant. Although Jackson's reaction did completely stun me.

Jackson is still just as loveable in this one, although it appears that he can be easily manipulated by his mother - which can be extremely unfortunate. He is enough to make any red blooded woman just drool all day long. i love his sexy interactions with Elle, he is the perfect submissive boyfriend, but one who also knows how to take charge when needed. But there are many times when he just has my head shaking with some of his decisions and actions.

Once again Ms dangerfield has given her readers another hot, sexy read that will have them fanning themselves continually. A brilliant continuance of Elle and Jackson's story. Make sure that SOMETHING BORROWED is read before reading this one though, as it is NOT a stand alone.

4 stars! This was a good book! This novella is the continuation of Elle and Jackson's story. It is now a few years down the road from the story that took place in Something Borrowed. The couple has settled into life, living together, happy and in love. But then, Jackson's evil mother comes for an extended visit. This wicked woman is out to break up the couple and really puts their relationship to the test. But their love for each other never wavers and they prove that in the way deal with the situation.

I love Jackson and Elle. Their chemistry and connection is amazing. Elle is strong and takes no nonsense from most people, but she still has a vulnerable side and is not bitchy. Jackson is submissive to Elle when they are together sexually, but he is still charming and sexy and not at all weak. I really felt like the had an equal partnership.

(As an aside- I really love the two relationships/books that this author has written with dominant females. They are so realistic feeling and sexy, without the heroines being cold and unfeeling like a lot of dommes are portrayed in other books)

These two love each other so much. I just loved so much seeing the way their relationship has developed. They have fallen deeper in love, matured and become better people because of each other. The surprise that Jackson had in store for Elle was so sweet, too. I am so glad to have had this follow up to their story to see how life worked out for the couple. It was a sweet, sexy, funny and emotional follow up! Thanks, Ms. Dangerfield, for bringing us the memorable couple and interesting story!

Loved! Jackson and Elle's love story in Something Borrowed was quite the "trip" (destination wedding trip LOL) and this follow-up novella was "CRAZY"! Great writing Eve Dangerfield .

Elle and Jackson are hosting Jackson's mother and she has completely overstayed her welcome. Elle's strength is highlighted in her amazing ability to keep her mouth shut and not slap the living day lights out of the woman. Anyone who has ever had to deal with a mother-in-law who clearly didn't think you were good enough for her son, pretty enough for him OR better yet taking him away from her will completely identify with this story.

Reading the drama was familiar (lol) but let me tell you- the climax of the story (or lack thereof lol) when Elle is at her boiling point and FINALLY unleashes every thought and feeling on this woman- I wanted to applaud! THEN Jackson- poor manipulated Jackson- crushes me!

Elle proves that you can be a strong, dominating woman and still be vulnerable to love and allowing others to hurt your feelings. She also shows that being strong doesn't make you crazy or a bi$%! but confident, powerful, and fierce which are all wonderful qualities in someone I want to love and have them love me back!

Great story! I think a novella in the future of a marriage and birth would be amazing!

After reading Something Borrowed, the beginning of Elle and Jackson's story, I couldn't wait to climb back on the saddle and experience their brand of kink once again in Something Else. It wasn't long until Eve Dangerfield had me wrapped up in their teacher/student fantasy and their angst with Jackson's mother.

Elle Sahlstrom has me just as fascinated with her strong “domme” persona and her fragile inner beauty as she did in Something Borrowed. I couldn't help but root for her against the soon to be “monster in law” and was more than ready to see her get back to “punishing” and loving on her man Jackson!

Jackson is still just as swoony and virile as he is in the beginning of his and Elle's story. Whether he is handcuffed to Elle's bed or writing sentences and panting after Elle's school marm look, I can't get enough of this lip biting, hair tugging hero. Even when he has me shaking my head and saying “What is he thinking?” I am still head over heels in love with this book boyfriend who loves to be dominated.

Eve Dangerfield delivers another cheek burning, heart melting, passion filled read. I highly recommend Something Else for another dose of one of my favorite couples Elle and Jackson and their spank me, tie me up love. Eve Dangerfield always keeps readers entertained with her colorful characters, funny story lines, and heartfelt angst. What more could a reader want?

I am soo happy Jackson and Elle got a novella. I fell in love with them and their umconventional love in Something Borrowed.
This novella picks up years after their best friends wedding and brings new challenges ahead, one in the form of an evil french monster in law.

I've said it before and i will say it again, i freaking love the heroines that Eve writes. They kick ass!! This novella was short and sweet, just perfect.

I recommend you to read Something Borrowed before you read this Novella.

A Short and Sweet quick read that picks up after Something Borrowed. Jackson and Elle are more in love than ever and are now living together. But when Jackson's mother comes to stay she proves to be the Mother in Law from hell. It starts to put their relationship under strain, and they have to fight hard for their relationship.

A quick Sultry and Sexy read with plenty of evil mother in law moments, this woman is really the mother in law from hell. A very enjoyable read.

Remember Elle and that gorgeous Frenchman Jackson from Something Borrowed? This is a delicious little novella follow on showing their lives two years later living together when the mother in law visits.

Omg. I'm, so glad the mother in law is fictional, she is possibly the worst mother in law I've ever read about ( brilliantly written, I adore a great antagonist to hate and Eve delivers this perfectly ) she has a somewhat redeeming at the end ( you have to squint to see it ) What kind of mother cockblocks her son not once but twice and doesn't immediately send a gift basket in apology... or you know...apologise! this woman was horrible, and I felt for poor Elle who caught the brunt of her hatred.

Jackson lost some of his sheen when he didn't immediately alpha-book boyfriend fix this situation, doesn't he know the golden rule you always have your heroines back no matter what! he seemed a bit henpecked by his mum.

Elle was so fun and funny and had a backbone like iron, she made this book for me.

So happy to see these two happy and kinky together. That classroom teacher roleplay scene was hot hot hot. If you haven't read anything of Eve Dangerfield yet, you really should. She's a new to me favourite.

This takes place in the time from the end of and Epilogue to Something Borrowed,so it makes sense to have read it before this novella,so you have an idea of who Elle and Jackson are-and the nature of their relationship.I did enjoy this much like I did with the previous book, there was still DUAL POV,some hot scenes between both character's,which resulted in an amusing 'caught in the act',with Jackson's mother-who has outstayed her welcome in their home. The frustrations that Elle has, along with insecurities about her relationship coming to a head,in connection with the fact that Valeraine (Jackson's mother) doesn't like her,are written well enough that you get caught up in the story-even though the eventual outcome in the Epilogue to Something Borrowed you know is a HEA.
I wouldn't class this as a 'sequel' as such, more of a companion to book 1-and I'd have liked to see more of Elle and Jackson's story going past the Epilogue to Something Borrowed-but that's just my own thoughts.

I would recommend reading Something Borrowed first before this .

Elle and Jackson like to role play. His mom is staying with him and that interferes with his life. Elle doesn't like it. Elle been called crazy all her life, she likes to be in charge.

This was a short read. The only thing is while reading I noticed words that needed spaces between them and got in touch with Eve about it. Overall a quick read!
