Las Vegas and weird: that's no stretch. But the truth is even stranger than anyone imagined! With a little digging, Joe Oesterle and Tim Cridland found all kinds of bizarre and odd folks lurking about in Nevada. There's the Neon Boneyard, where discarded historic signs bake in the sun, and Bonnie and Clyde's Death Car. And just for guys: take a break at a chunk of the Berlin Wall…now turned Vegas urinal.
Weird: Las Vegas and Nevada is an extremely fun travel guide for Nevada natives or people looking for things to do on vacation in the Silver State. The book is divided into sections for ghosts and ghost-towns, famous people, mysteries and legends, weird entertainment, and countless other oddities. The stories are short and sweet, accompanied by photographs to support each one. My favorite parts of the book dealt with the history of Las Vegas specifically, especially around celebrities and the city's founding gangsters.
It was interesting and I have a long list of places to go visit now,(if I get the chance). Unfortunately things change so often here in Las Vegas that some of the articles are already out of date. But if you like ghost stories and strange tales this is still a good book to make your way through. And it might make your next trip to Nevada and Las Vegas a little more interesting.
