Will Jen say I do on public television or will she run away from it all?
So naturally I just had to continue after reading the first two books. I just had to see what would happen to Jen and Justin now they are engaged. I wanted to see a wedding!
Right from the bat Jen gets a call from her friend to participate in a reality show wedding. Another couple that was supposed to marry cancelled (or well their relationship died a spectacular death) and they need a new one. And who else to ask than Jen and Justin. I was at first quite enthusiastic about the whole reality wedding stuff, they deserve a glamour wedding. But then we quickly find out that The Network's plans involve blackmailing. Forcing our duo to have to participate!
But thankfully our couple isn't going to be daunted that easily. They make a pact/plan and also promise to, whatever happens, let each other know should something happen (like when someone kisses Jen while she is alone in The Fishbowl (yes, the house from that series makes a reappearance)). I loved that they made that plan, especially given the cruise from last time and how terrible their trust was (and given a few scenes there were a few times I doubted their trust in this one).
Plus I also loved what they did before separating (Jen to go to the show already, Justin to work on a case). That is such a sweet idea, and also a very smart one given what The Network will be throwing at them. Though it must have been hard not to tell their closest friends (and Jen's mom/brother).
I loved reading their text messages. They really love each other, and I loved how protective Justin was.
While the week was a mess and not always too fun for Jen, I did like reading about all the things they did before the wedding. Dress rehearsal, food sampling, veil hunting, finding stuff for when they are going to live together, and more.
And we also have challenges! Yep, it is still a reality show so we still got some very fun wedding themed challenges. Like centrepieces, questions about the bride/groom. I just loved that they added those.
It was fun to see The Fishbowl again. I did think it was funny they picked that as the location for the week, but I guess it makes sense given that Jen and Justin met at the show/got close due to the show.
I am happy to see several characters again (and one I never wanted to see again). Birdie, very much pregnant and still very hashtaggy. :P Rachel who is still very sweet and supportive and oh so funny. Ed was also around (but then again wherever Connor went Ed was also there). Then there is Sarah (though we mostly see her through texts and through those tabloid things (I hope their relationship works out).
The whole thing with Logan? I just knew from the start it was THAT, but I am happy (or should I say pissed as that was just a dickmove) that it was later revealed and the truth came out. I do have to say that he was convincing at times though. A few times I kind of fell for his act, only to want to kick him between his balls when he had the guts to do that.
The ending? I just adored it! It was so sweet of Jen and Justin to do that for their friends. Perfect!
Oh plus points to getting tabloid articles/seeing titles for other articles.
Leanna? I wasn't sure about her throughout the book, but I can say that I liked her quite a bit at the ending and what she did/said there.
I was seriously pissed at the Network in this one. Last time they already did pretty horrible things to get Jen and Justin to break up, but they keep up their antics in this book. What should have been one of Jen's best days turned out to be one with unhappiness, no say in anything, and so much more. They have new tricks on their sleeves and I wasn't sure who to trust. I just hate how they think they need to add so much drama to make a show good. What is wrong with you people? I am sure that without all the drama it would still have been a fabulous show that would have garnered tons of viewers. But no, they had to add Logan (urgghhh, and I thought Ariana was terrible). Janine was also terrible, but I am very happy with the ending. Good, good, karma always finds its way to people who done wrong.
But all in all, I had a lot of fun reading and I flew through the book. I am kind of sad that the series is now over, I wouldn't mind seeing more Jen and Justin.

Reality Wedding is the third in a series about Jen Reid, an everyday girl who joins a reality TV show and ends up winning the guy of her dreams. Now, the producers from The Network want her and Justin to get married on camera… OR ELSE. Thrust back into the limelight, Jen has to navigate former nemeses, monstrous wedding dresses, and a wedding planner who seems convinced she’s his fairytale ending.
Though I haven’t read the previous two books in the series, this is great fun. There were lots of characters introduced from previous books, but they were all sketched in neatly from Jen’s perspective. The only one we didn’t really get to know was Justin, which was a real shame because he seemed delightful. I’m very tempted to go back and read the previous two books!
There are quite a few LGBT characters in the book, but they certainly aren’t incidental to the plot or just thrown in for representative value. There was also a really neat twist at the end I didn’t see coming even though the information was there all along for the reader.
Jen and Justin’s strength and faith in each other was inspiring, despite the obstacles put in their path. The Network’s producers were almost cartoonish in their villainy and determination to put Ratings and Drama above all else, but frankly knowing a little something about reality TV, I don’t think they were all that far-fetched. A quick, charming read with a relatable heroine, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Five stars.

After devouring Nice Try, Jane Sinner last December, I've been craving more reality TV based reads. I love the drama and competitiveness they bring to the table! Therefore, when Laura Heffernan's Reality Wedding appeared on my radar, I instantly added it to my TBR.
The result? Reality Wedding is an incredibly fun & fast paced read, perfect for a lazy afternoon.
Reality Wedding introduces Jen and Justin, two twenty-somethings who meet and fell in love on a reality TV show. After several shows and a heck of a lot of drama, they're happy to put their reality TV personas to bed and live a normal, quiet life in Florida. The only problem? The network wants them back for a wedding special!
I adored Jen from the first page. She was snarky and sassy and never afraid to speak her mind. I loved the relaxed feel to her narrative. It was such a treat to slip into her world for a few hours. What I loved the most about Jen, however, was that she'd get herself into the craziest situations. The painted wedding dress, the pool rescue, etc. It was all so funny! I couldn't stop laughing or tear my eyes away from the page. I just needed to know more. I also came to like Justin. He was definitely the more relaxed one of the two. I just wish he had played more of a part in the book. The secondary characters were a riot! Birdie, Rachel, and Sarah were all unique and just as sassy and fierce as Jen. I could see why they were all friends. I also appreciated the "enemies," such as J-dwag, the wedding planner, and the insane producer. Some of the stunts those three pulled were insane!
The plot centered around the wedding as well as Jen and Justin's struggle to remain sane and in love. Sometimes books involving weddings don't feature a lot of wedding stuff, but that wasn't the case here. Cake tastings, dress fittings, rehearsal dinners...everything was included, making a wedding lover like me incredibly happy. Laura also did a fantastic job of bringing everything together. I enjoyed the addition of celebrity gossip blog posts and texts. It caused a lot more laughs and for this book to move at a rapid pace! I started this book at 9 pm and before I knew it was 12 am and I was done. I seriously couldn't put it down. Jen and Justin's relationship/struggles added an "aww!" factor to the storyline. I loved how much of a team they were. They shared almost everything and helped as well as supported each other every step of the way.
Overall, Reality Wedding is an essential read for any reality TV/wedding lover. Despite Reality Wedding being the 3rd book in the series, it's actual my first so I'm looking forward to going back and seeing how it all began.

Jen and Justin had their first kiss on nationwide reality tv, then suffered a deluge of exs on the reality cruise from hell to emerge engaged. All they want is privacy. But the network finds a way to force them into yet another show--for a showstopper wedding. Only the network will do anything it can to improve the ratings including lie, tempt to cheat, and attempt to steal their special day with the ugliest dress available and inedible cake.
Jen and Justin vow to go with the flow and deprive the network of the drama they desire. How's that turn out for them?
You know when you get blazing mad at the tricks played on these characters that they really have you hooked. I wanted to run in there and slap some network ass for their treatment of Jen. I loved rooting for Jen to turn the tables on them. This book is fun and fast paced. It will make you forget reality as you turn pages to reach the fitting ending. It's sad to see the end of these books. I'm going to miss them.

Reality Wedding is a fun and enjoyable book for fans of romance and comedy alike. As the third book in a series it can be read as a stand alone, but with so many references to other characters and past events it is best to read at least one of the other books for maximum enjoyment. I loved reading of Jen and Justin's reality wedding. What struck me the most was how the author showed how connected this couple was throughout whatever the network threw at them. They truly were a team and their love shone through. I laughed out loud often, having to explain to curious people around me what had me so tickled. I highly recommend this book and would love to see more of these characters.

I received an ecopy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. My library hold for Bachelor Nation by Amy Kaufman came in and I decided to read these books concurrently. I am not an avid fan of The Bachelor/Bachelorette shows but I’ve seen enough to be curious as to what goes on behind the scenes as far as editing etc. There have been rumours through the years about the manipulation of contestants and how the show is scripted. Reality Wedding is the third book in the series and I haven’t read the first two. It would have given me more context for this latest book but it was fine as a stand alone book. This is a funny, light hearted look at a reality wedding with all worst things you have heard about the production of The Bachelor shows thrown in. The writing was good and the main character was likeable as she tries to thwart all the extreme things the producers throw at her for her “reality” wedding. Reading both books at the same time puts the emphasis on how none of this is in fact reality. If anything, Reality Wedding starts to look like all of the plot and craziness in the book could actually happen! If you are a big fan of reality TV this series is for you. If you like a lighthearted read this is also for you. The book is fast paced with a lot of fun characters and situations.

#3 in the Reality Star romance series
Jen and Justin are back! Since their romance on the TV reality show The Fishbowl, they've moved on with their lives but have used their fleeting fame to promote her new bakery (shared with Justin's sister Sarah, the amazing baker). Justin's law firm is pretty much blackmailing him into participating, so they've decided to go along with the show while also hedging their bets. They've had a sneaky wedding in advance, but they've also agreed to put up with pretty much anything the Network throws at them, knowing they've got each other's backs. Unfortunately, Justin and Sarah get delayed for days because of a Florida hurricane, leaving Jen to deal with everything on her own. And the Network is definitely out to sabotage their nuptials, throwing an alternate groom at her, along with a terrible wedding dress, replacement groomsmen and bridesmaids, not to mention a pregnant friend who's just about ready to give birth. The results are entertaining, but I loved how Jen and Justin stuck together, working together as much as they could with such chaos going on around them. It was fun to revisit with J-Dawg (annoying), Birdie (pregnant), Rachel (supportive), and Ed and Connor (gay couple) from previous books. This book was not really laugh-out-loud funny, but it was amusing and made me smile with its silliness. I had to wonder at Justin's capability as a lawyer since he didn't really protect either of them from the Network's strong contract, but I guess he's new at his job. Fun and a quick and enjoyable read.

This is the third in the Reality stars series and I do think it is necessary to read the series in the correct order. I think to pick this up without reading the ones before would confuse the reader as the series follows the same character throughout all three.
In all honesty, this story is not going to win any awards in literature. You never know I could be wrong but I don't think that it is the expectation with this series. I look at it more as an entertaining poke at the ridiculousness of some reality T.V. series and for this I got what I wanted out of the story. As wild an crazy as the events that occur (no spoilers here), I really do think there is a little truth to the real thing.

Funny, fresh and romantic. Jen and Justin fell in love on a reality TV show, got engaged on another and now, against both their wishes they are contracted to get married on one.

I really loved this book, although occasionally I felt I was missing something or couldn't quite keep up with the characters because I hadn't read the previous two in the series. But that certainly didn't detract from my enjoyment. Lots of fun.
Jen flies out to LA to start preparing for the big day as the cameras follow her around, but with a cast of fabulous characters, not all of whom can be trusted, will the path of true love run smooth?

Great fun and much more interesting story line than I was expecting. I really enjoyed the outrageous setting and fun characters, I was impressed by the huge cast of characters and yet all were identifyable and I didn't get lost. I thought there were many great dramatic moments and the story wasn't predictable x

Loved the series
These 3 books were a fun read. Jen's character was really funny. You could see where Jen and Justin's relationship grew with each book. Unlike the second book where they didn't talk enough. In this book they were both in on everything. Congratulations on a good series.

Jen’s relationship with her future husband Justin had been caught on video and broadcasted to America as part of Season one of the Fishbowl. Their growing attraction, their fi5rst fight, first kiss, and then the proposal. Then Jen got a call from the reality show from producer Connor asking if they wanted to get married on tv and the Network would pay for everything. Jen and Justin’s sister now owned a bakery called Sweet Reality. The bakery had been open for less than a year and was just starting to make a profit The network wanted to give Jen and Justine their own show. Jen told Connor they had given up reality show business. Justin was now a first year associate at the law firm where he worked. Jen and Justin had spent most of their money in the last year on his parents medical bills and paying his student loans. They would have a tight budget for their wedding unless they wanted to wait three years to marry and they did not. Jen knew she couldn’t leave right now. Connor had been a good friend the last couple of years and the wedding show was his baby and his chance to become a big producer. When Jen met Justin for lunch at the courthouse he told her that if he didn’t do the reality show he was fired. Jen called Connor and agreed to the show knowing the network would create a lot of drama. Jen and Justin decided to get married before the show before the BS started and they did at the courthouse with his family there. They did not tell anyone else. After jen flew out she soon learned this wedding would really have nothing to do with her and Justin and her dream wedding.

If you are a fan of reality tv, this is the book for you!
Jen and Justin met on a previous reality show and now the Network wants to do a wedding show. But it's not just a week of wedding planning bliss. It's full of contests, fake drama, wacked out drama queens, and never ending back stabbing! I wasn't sure I would enjoy the book as much as I did because I do not care for reality tv, but this was a truly well written book! The author seamlessly matched all the behind the scenes hijinks with real life troubles.
As the story starts, everything is being planned out with the bride and groom's input. It all goes haywire as the week progresses and the bride realizes everything has already been done, and the Network has no intention of honoring their wishes! And to make matters worse, her groom is MIA because of weather. Unfortunately for Jen, that plays right into the Network's quest for ratings!
I thought that it was a unique look behind the scenes. You didn't know who was really Jen's friends or were they really Network plants there specifically to cause drama. I also liked that the author gives us tidbits about what took place leading up to the big wedding, all the while moving forward with the theatrics.
All in all it was a rather invigorating rollercoaster of a ride! I wanted to see how Jen and Justin were going to best the Network and take back "their" wedding show! The Network was just so evil. What twisted things they did in the name of ratings was just appalling! I know there is a lot of scripting for these types of shows, and it makes you wonder what is actually real and what isn't. I am glad that Jen and Justin seemed to be grounded and sure of their love. That united front gave them the ability to handle whatever the Network threw their way! Very entertaining indeed!

how do I even explain?
Your books have reeled me in from the beginning. I went in as a skeptic, wanting to read something ‘different’. I don’t normally read this genre, I don’t like reality shows, and I HATE drama…I do prefer mild language and behind-closed-doors steaminess (NOT graphic play-by-play) which these books followed (yay)…because the stories did not need any of that to keep one hooked…but WHY was I hooked? Not because these would be considered ‘sweet’ Rom-coms, but because Laura is a phenomenal writer…her characters are complex, yet like ordinary people who have their own unique ‘baggage’ they carry. She captures the essence of the characters so well. They seem so real to life. The humor, the witty sarcastic banter, the unbelievable and sometimes bizarre situations the characters found themselves in, the unforeseen plot twists, the love and hate relationships, the “behind the scenes’ of the network machinations to get good ratings…and more…oh my gosh! So well put together. I felt like I was there, that I was their friend and felt their emotions. I debated before beginning to read the books in the series. I had trepidation before starting each one only to find that I just had to begin the next one to see what happens and if it would surpass the previous book…and boy, I’m so very glad that I continued to read…I would have definitely missed out on a laugh out load, groan, ‘smack my head’, roll my eyes, and “I’ve got to put this down so I can make dinner” gem of a series! Reality Wedding is the third and final book in Laura Heffernan's Reality Star series. I think it might be my favorite of the three!
Jen and Justin are finally engaged and trying to plan a small ceremony for their wedding on a modest budget. However, they get a phone call from their former Fishbowl friend Ed & the studio that they need a couple to fill in at the last minute for a reality wedding TV show. The Network offers to pay for Jen's dream wedding and honeymoon, and it will also help Ed out of a bind, so Jen decides to talk to Justin and think about it. It turns out Justin's boss also gets a call from the Network, and his job ends up in jeopardy if they don't do the show. So, their reality wedding is on!
Jen and Justin make their own set of rules so they can try to avoid getting sandbagged by the Network. However, things never go as planned...especially when their "favorite" TV producer is involved. Throw in a dashingly handsome wedding planner and a FL hurricane that makes it almost impossible for the groom to arrive at his own wedding, and you've got a recipe for disaster!
Reality Wedding is full of great hi-jinks and hilarity, plus some touching and heartfelt moments. It was fun to read from beginning to end. If you've read the first two books in the series, you should definitely read the third. If not, then you need to read this entire series!

Refreshing & Fun!
I read a free copy of Reality Wedding in exchange for an honest review.
Honestly, I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did. It moved along like a thrill ride - I was surprised to have finished it so quickly.
It read like a reality show - silly contests, betrayals of trust, and a nail-biting ending, but the force of evil was the show itself, and the characters were the "good guys."
Heffernan has a clever way of using online news articles and text messages to move the story forward while recapping the first two books. I did not feel in the dark or bombarded with backstory. It's also not a mushy relationship book - despite being about a wedding - which is what I had been expecting. The bride, Jen, spends most of her time separated from the groom. I love the way she has friendships and interests and a sense of humor that made me snort. The book is much more about her troubled relationship with the show. Even the elements of wedding planning take second fiddle to the conniving demands of the wicked Network.
This was the perfect read for a hectic week. Glad to know there are two more, I would definitely revisit these characters.

I was asked by the author for an honest review.
I would have liked to give 3.5 stars. I highly recommend reading at least the first book in the Reality Star series if not the first two books. I've read only the second book (Sweet Reality), and I thought this third book would pick up where the second left off. However, there were many, many characters from the first book that hadn't appeared in the second book. In addition, the setting for this one was back in the original house from the first book (the second was not). There were a lot of references to events, characters, features of the house/grounds and reality show stunts from the first book (even more so than the second book) that were totally lost on me. It was enjoyable to read but I'm sure it would have helped a lot to have read the entire series in order.
Like Sweet Reality, this book is suitable for young adults. While an intimate scene is implied and another overheard, it didn't have any detailed scenes. I would recommend it to readers who have read and liked the first two books.

Honestly the best book in the trilogy. The reality show “evils” are really on display. Jen and Justin are wise to most of it and it makes it feel like you are suspicious of everyone’s intentions alongside them. Logan was gross but honestly I don’t think anyone is worse than Janine. I mean honestly having the dude wear pheromones, and trying to subliminally brainwash Jen into falling for that. Just made my stomach turn. My two favorite couples out of Sweet Reality got married. The network can shove it where the sun doesn’t shine for trying to deny Ed and Connors on air wedding. As sad as her death is, I really enjoyed that the drama wasn’t based on pitting Jen and Ariana against one another. Rachel FINALLY dumped J-dawg ugh just typing that annoyed me…. And BIRDIE IS BACK, probably the best of all.

If you're familiar with the other books in this series, you will probably ask yourself as I did why Jen and Justin would even entertain the concept of a reality wedding. Because nothing ever goes as planned for them when the network is involved. This book is no different, but it is a lot of fun in much the same way that watching a train wreck is fun. In the world of reality TV, nothing is sacred.
Not even vows.
Without giving away the plot, I'll tell you that a lot of favorites from Book #1 make a reappearance. In the midst of all the mayhem and havoc the network wreaks on our dashing duo, it's good to see that at least this time they go into the whole thing with their eyes open and a plan in place. The book is a lot of fun, a quick read, and ultimately quite satisfying. Thank you, Laura Heffernan for a sweet finish to the Reality Star series.

I love all three of the books in this series, but this final one is my favorite. Jen and Justin met on one reality show, got engaged on a second, and swore they wouldn't do a third. But then circumstances (read show producers) conspired to threaten Justin's job if they don't agree to get married on television. This time, though, they go in with a plan and are determined not to let this show threaten their relationship like the first two did. Heffernan's writing is witty, funny, and relateable and she creates a cast of characters that are hilarious and eclectic. Reality Wedding can be read as a stand-alone book, but give yourself a treat and read all three.

I really enjoyed this series but I have to admit I think this one was my favorite,I really enjoyed catching up with Jen and Justin and just loved seeing the end of their story these two are just so sweet together a super end to a great series

This is the third book in the Reality Star series. Whereas in most series, the writing gets worse with each subsequent book, I believe that Heffernan found her groove as the series went on. This was a really engaging and fun read. And definitely my favorite of the series.

What a fun and feisty book! This is perfect for any reality tv fans. The characters are appropriately quirky, the television producers are devious and underhanded, and the romance is true-hearted.

Another great book in this series. I wish there were more. It is like reading a tv show, two of my passions combined. This is what reality dreams are made of.
