The Submissives' Secrets #4

Filthy Commitments

Rate this book
Falling for a bad boy was a bad idea. Signing a contract to be his sub was even worse. This was my last year of college, and I needed money fast. With no prior experience with any job, I was stuck. But that was until a friend told me about an exclusive club for billionaires. To join, I only needed to tell them about myself and take some physical tests. Everything was quick, and I was in after agreeing to the terms and conditions. That same day I got a message from one club member. We talked, and he offered me more money than I could ever imagine. After seeing his profile, I accepted to meet him without hesitation, and we met the next day. He was built like a beast. Tall, muscular with dark green eyes. At the club, I was given my first contract, and I signed it carelessly. That was my biggest mistake. I signed up to satisfy his deepest desires in bed. Not fake marry him and have his baby!

3.5 stars. I received this book as an ARC that I voluntarily read and reviewed. I liked the book, and it was the hot sex scenes that bumped it up to 3.5 stars. My issues with the book were some of the characters personalities. First Jett's mom sounds like this typical rich bitch with entitlement issues, but once you meet her she's as sweet as pie. Jett waffled between being a cocky man and a whiny pain in my opinion. Asia I liked from the get go. The story line is a theme I've read by a few authors. Rich guy needs a woman for a few weeks to throw off the "Prospective women" being thrown at the male during various events, usually set up by the mother. In this particular version, and I'm not knocking it at all because they can be fun. Said billionaire, Jett, decides to hire a woman as a sub from the sex club he participates in. So of course there's contracts and everything is on the up and up, Asia needs money to fund her last year at college, so it's win-win for everyone, or is it. Because of course feelings are going to develop and hearts are on the line

Was just ok for me. The storyline felt familiar and the characters were lacking any real depth.

Jett is a rich businessman who doesn't believe in love. He just wants a quiet woman to do whatever he tells them. His mom calls him to tell him about the week long family reunion and offers to get him a date. Tired of being set up by his whole family, he lies and says he will be bringing his fiancee. That day he gets even more reminders of events that summer that will go smoother if he has a date. He decides to check his sex club website to see if he can find a good girl who would be his for the summer. Then he sees Asia's profile and immediately wants her.
Asia is from a middle class family and her dad has been laid off. She is going to school on a great scholarship but it requires good grades and this semester she is flunking two classes. Somehow she will have to find money for her last year in college. A friend tells her of a sex club where she can hire herself out as a submissive for the summer. It is a great way to earn cash and she can limit what she agrees to do. Asia is desperate and agrees. She is thrilled by the deal Jett offers her for the summer. She will earn enough to finish college and help her parents. Once she signs the contract, she is in for a big surprise. Not only is she supposed to give Jett her virginity and obey his commands but she is to be his pretend wife. She isn't happy about lying but she desperately needs the money.
This is a good story about a business deal with a fake marriage slowly turning into the real thing. Even though Jett doesn't believe in love, Asia's actions prove that she really loves him. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

Loved it!
Jett is a selfish billionaire playboy who doesn't want to settle down. His mom on the other hand thinks he needs to be married...like yesterday. He doesn't want to be set up with anyone...especially any one of the snutty, gold diggers his mom has all made sure will be there on their vacation. So what is he to do...but tell his mom that he already met some one who he is thinking to make his wife before they get there.
Asia is in college on a scholarship but after she fails a class she loses it. Now she is has to figure how to make enough money to cover the last year of tuition, book, room, and food. When her friend tells her about the BDSM club The Dungeon of Decorum (if you have read any of Michelle Love's recent books you know all about this place.) She puts her self up for auction but only if she know about the man before she is sold.
Jett saw her profile on the website and is instantly attracted. But then he sees it...she is a virgin and then he knew...he had to have her.
After they sign the Dom/sub contract and are on the way to his parents, he tells her that they are to pretend to be married.
Great read. I don't want to get to much into it because you should read it. Nothing to much into BDSM so if you have concerns about that, don't be. Told in dual POV. Has some a drama from overwhelming guilt, funny moments, and jealousy.
I received this as an ARC for my honest review.

Kind of a disappointment, but oh those sex scenes. HOT!

I really like Michelle Love's stories. This one I was a little disappointing. I was really excited to find out that the BDSM club is hardly in the book at all. And while Jett was described of a alpha male I would swoon over, I was missing the Dom part in his personality. I understand that's the point. But I was looking forward every once and awhile. I felt although the plot's sex scenes were super, super panties changing hot, I just didn't believe the character's predicaments. If you are going to include the words "Submissives' Secrets" make her have more than she's doing it to stay in school. The plot changing left and right made me not believe both character's parents. No way in hell would my parent allow me to do the things still after they find out what was really the problem.

I felt that a couple chapters could of been cut. I kept reading going "alright already, when it's going to end." But you read it because you are waiting to see how it's going to end up. I felt it was carefully made without it being cheesy. Which I liked. But I really didn't think that the stakes were high enough for the couple to really feel they're feelings. And I know it's a book, not real life, but no way they would get away with what they got away with.

I received an ARC version to give an honest review.

I feel really bad to give a book one star. I felt I had no choice. There were so many typos. The majority of the paragraphs started mid-sentence. Grammatical errors were everywhere such as your instead of you're. The book was actually hard to read. I soldiered through the book, determined to get to the end. Never has 200+ pages seemed so long and never-ending. I know that Michelle Love is a new author; I want to encourage her. This effort is substandard at best. Please, please edit your work. It's too much to ask your readers to suffer through this.

Plot: Jett hires Asia (what's up with this name? It's not even a fake stripper name. It is the actual name for the MH. And, she has a sister named Rainbow!) to be his fake wife. Instead of asking her to sign a non-disclosure agreement, he asks her to be his sub and sign a sub agreement because he thinks being a sub will keep her mouth shut?!? Okay, let's be serious, we don't read erotica for the plot plausibility. I will give this a pass. The sex scenes were really rushed and were not planned out at all. There was no buildup, no sexual tension. In fact, I was scrolling through those scenes. Reading this felt like a chore. I borrowed this on my Kindle Unlimited; I am so glad I did!

The premise wasn't that bad and could have been excellent had there been more thought put into it and had it been tweaked. In fact, the story started out rather well, and I thought we might have something here. Then, between the problems with grammar, sentences being dropped, the hero's name being changed for an entire page, along with some really disappointing drivel, I just wanted to hang it up. It wasn't just a matter of needing a good editor, which by the way was a necessity. I assumed Jett would be a real Dom and that the author knew what a real Dom was supposed to act like. I couldn't have been further off the mark. He was wishy washy with all of these sappy overwhelming feelings that no macho, alpha Dom would admit to. And when Asia began sassing him and doing as she wished, the whole story simply fell apart for me. I skipped over whole chunks of sticky, syrupy dialogue and thought monologues that repeated the same guilt feelings over and over again. It was just not as well developed as it could have been. It seemed to end up simply being one romp leading to the next with a little thin story in between to connect them. The characters were shallow and undeveloped. It was just disappointing to me.

Asia is in need of money because she failed her last exams at college and her scholarship is at stake. Jett on the other hand needs a fake wife to put his parents at ease and go through some social events without explaining why he is still single. So he finds Asia’s profile online at the “Dungeon of Decorum”, a place where people get auctioned and sign contracts who are into BDSM. He’s a selfish and rich person while Asia is the classical sweet and submissive girl. So everything is quite all set except for one little detail, that is they both fall hard for one another. The story as I explained could be simple but believe me it is not. Both will be consumed by guilt but mostly they will have a difficult time to live fully their love. After a series of entanglements, Jett will finally fix things and…enough I won't go any further. I loved this book, I want someone like Jett in my life. The story is enchanting and both are absolutely adorable.

This was a great read about the club in Oregon.
Jett likes his carefree life, getting women he wants, and just living the high life. The only thing he can't stand is that everyone wants to match him up with someone. His summer is going to be filled with events and everyone wants him to meet someone they know. How to solve this? Get a sub who will pretend to be his fake wife. No problem.
Asia is in grad school and has just lost her scholarship. She can't ask her parents for money nor does she want to tell them she failed two classes. A casual friend tells her about the dom/sub club and how she can earn a lot of money.
She attracts Jett and their relationship begins as well as the lies. What part of their relationship is real? What part is because of the Contract? And how do you tell both sets of parents it is all a Lie? Or is It?

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers copy of this book.

I really do not know what to write. Michelle Love is one of my favorite author in the category and I always expect the best from her books. This time I also expected a lot but not enough. The story was much more than I could think of. It was an amazing read and very well written. I am not disappointed. It is in the top three of the best of her books.
It has hot scenes that melted my panties. The chemistry, passion and the emotions very so realistic in their description.
Both main characters develop a lot in this story. From cold fish and closed up to an enjoyable person that you only can fall in love with.
Jett is very cold and closed when it comes to women. Asia has her college to think about and pay for. He buys her and the story develops from there.
Absolutely worth the read!

A simple engagement of Asia's "services" as a sub and fake wife snowballed into a huge web of lies for Jett (and Asia as her family was sucked into this web too). I thought he was a confusing character, he could not decide whether he really wanted Asia to be a sub or allow her to be a little spitfire as he specifically contracted for her to follow every order without question. Meanwhile, Asia was quite calm for someone doing this for the first time (literally, as she held her V card).

Each chapter builds the web bigger and bigger; the author keeps you in suspense as to what these two would or could do to get themselves out of this huge mess. The story flows with the couple's indecisions, it reminds me of this rollercoaster ride I once took! Fairly easy read.

*** I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book***
I liked this story about Jett and Asia's unconventional "romance". Thought both characters were well written and interesting, even though at times, Jett was pretty unlikeable. Jett was extremely selfish and pretty chauvinistic, but that was part of his characters growth. Asia was just trying to do her job and not get hurt. The pace of the story was somewhat uneven, it dragged at the beginning, picked up the pace, slowed again. but ending well. I find it intriguing that many of the ARC reviewers noted spelling and grammar errors. Did you not read the disclaimer that came at the beginning of the book?? That's to be expected when a book is at the editors. I would agree with them, but I assume those issues were corrected before the final book was released. The book overall was a good read!

When Jett needed a actress to pretend to be his date to a ton of family and friend functions he figured he would just hire one. When he got a look at Asia and saw her status he knew she would make a perfect date to fool everyone. Asia was so desperate for money for her schooling and her family that she readily agreed to be his submissive / girlfriend for three months. The problem with lying is you have to keep lying to cover up the lies and it's really hard for Asia to handle but Jett notices she has become to good at it. Jett is starting to feel something for Asia but he doesn't do relationships and Asia knows this but her heart doesn't. I loved this couple and crossing my fingers for their happy ending.

Okay, so I really enjoyed this book. I have read many of Michelle's books and this one is up there in how much I liked it. But I will say this, it did get a little old with how often the lies had to come out. We knew from the beginning what had to be done between Jett and Asia with the contract and what commitments where they had to play the happily married couple. But what got me is the constant "guilt" both felt in this book. For how much guilt they felt this book would have been shorter if they had just come clean and told people (family) what is real. So other than that (the constant guilt feeling) I really did enjoy this book.

This is an enjoyable. Read. Jeff is being hounded by his mother that he needs to get married so he can take over their family business so his father can take it easier as they get older. Asia is a student who is having some problems with her grades, her family is in dire straits and she is unsure of how her future will be when the time comes. This book is based on a contract that Jeff convinces Asia to sign. The contract is for her to be his fake wife so his family will back off. The problem is when you lie like this, eventually it's hard to keep track of which ones you tell. They do end up falling in love with each other. Will they get caught up in their lies? Can a love like this last? I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Michelle Love created an adorable love story that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book. Asia and Jett weave a tangled web of lies in an effort to cover up the the fact that Jett contracted Asia through the Dungeon of Decorum to be his sub/"fake wife" for 3 months so that his family and friends would stop trying to set him up with every single woman they know. When the love they were faking becomes very real, the two are desperate to find a way to build a future together and heal all the relationships they damaged along the way with their lies. But Asia has a "secret" that threatens to make or break them? Can true love conquer all? You'll have to read to find out.

This was an intense romantic billionaire story. Jett is tired of going solo to family functions where his mother is always trying to set him up with some woman. So he decides to look for someone through the Doms & Subs group he frequents. Asia is working on her college degree and has just failed two classes, she does not want her family to know so she is trying to find a way to earn the money during the summer so she can continue her studies. Asia decides to apply to be a Sub for a couple of months she signs a contract with Jett and the excitement begins. This story was so good I ended up reading it in one sitting - just could not put it down.

Jett and Asia enter into a contract that is designed to meet both their immediate needs, but they end up with a lot more than they bargained for when they unexpectedly develop feelings for each other. What follows is a sensuous, heart stopping story of misdirection, hiding secrets, and messing with the truth. As we’ve come to expect from Michelle Love, this book is brilliantly written with plenty of love, lust, and panty-melting heat, all leading to an extraordinary ending that simultaneously makes you relieved you made it to the end and suffering from a reader’s high that makes you want to start it all over again. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Lies are the root of all evil

In the story and some of the negative reviews I read before making my purchase. There were none if the huge problems that those negative reviews claimed. I read the story of Jett and Asia word for word. The story is unique and well written. The characters are well developed. I loved the heat between the characters. This is a great read. So ignore the malicious reviews. I smell a smear campaign. What a tragedy to make false statements against a writer who only strives to entertain her reader and shame on those who lied about a book that told the moral story that lies hurt people. Ironic don't you think?

A Good Read

For Jett, it was a way to get his mother off his back, without strings, emotions or complications. For Asia, a way to complete her degree after losing her scholarship. Let the buyer (and seller) beware.

Although sold through a BDSM site, and with a contract, the subtitle is somewhat misleading. This is really not what I would consider to be a BDSM novel. There is very little of that type of play. It's pretty vanilla. That doesn't mean there wasn't sufficient heat throughout the story. This is definitely a romance novel. And it's an enjoyable one.

Pretty good!

I chose this rating because this was a pretty good book. I enjoyed the characters they were a we bit strange, but you had to fall in love with them. Jett and Asia they were meant for each other it seemed. They fell in love with each other rather quick. Well I guess when you spend the time that they spent with each other. It was sure to happen. I'm just happy that realized it before it was too late. Also I was pleased with the away there parents were happy with who they chose for themselves. Pretty good read. A whole lot of romance.

This is an ARC, meaning I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book grabbed me on page 1 and didn't let go until the last page. The author has given us two main characters, Asia and Jett, who are so well written with dynamic personalities. The rest of the characters, especially the parents were also written well.
The plot line is provocative which kept me reading this book in one day.
I highly recommend Filthy Commitments. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy.

Michelle love has a great hit on her hands with this book. A man pressured to settle down as like a caged animal. So what does a man do? Hire a woman to be his fake wife only to fall in love with her.
A woman needing money for school and her family accepts an offer to end all of her problems. But they fall in love and don't know how to tell their families it was all a lie until there's a baby involved. And even find it funny at times.

I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. If there's anything that Love does in her books it's that she provides levels of depth into every emotion, twist and turn. There was a lot of real introspection in this book. Both characters were assertive yet very insecure. There were no extremes with regards to characters. Not as much suspense or drama as in her other books but still just as entertaining. Recommended.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book...

A great read by Michelle Love. Better than the last one I read by her. I loved the plot to this story. It flowed fairly smoothly throughout. Some of Jett's musing were disappointing. It didn't sound like anything an alpha male would think. I loved the characters together. They were for the most part well-developed. Both could have used a little bit more maturity. Overall a great read!

College girl needing money, man needing to get his family off his back enter into an arrangement for her to pretend she is his fake wife.

I know it sounds simple but believe me it's far from the truth.
A few twists and turns will keep you reading and you won't have time to be bored.
I haven't read any other books from this author regarding the club but I have to admit I'm intrigued.
I think I'm going to have to check out what else this author has out there.
