Unlike the layered intrigue of the preceding book, The Armor Trap, this book felt repetitive as Tony and his amazing friends blunder into one arcade game style boss fight after another. Stakes are low as all of these enemies are revealed to be "adaptoid" robots that imitate supervillains perfectly but can also be summarily dismembered or crushed under avalanches without too much of a guilty conscience for Our Heroes.

One highlight of the audiobook experience? MODOK's wheedling voice lives up to expectations.

This is a pretty good Iron Man story, though it could have been better. There are a few too many cameos and guest stars off and on the stage for any character development to occur. The nefarious folks from A.I.M. are developing M.O.D.O.K. and Tony brings in Captain America, War Machine, and Black Panther to set the little bee-hive cylinders on their heads spinning. Has he lost his mind? Can he see or is he blind? Can he walk at all or if he moves will he fall? Is he alive or dead? Has he thoughts within his head? Greg Cox answers these and some of Ozzy's other questions in these pages.

This is the second and the last in the Iron Man series for Byron Preiss. Not as good as the first because it was very superheroey. A lot of guest stars and guest villains. But I thought it was good, but it could have been better.

Entertaining and well-written, this novel unfolds and touches a lot of Marvel Lore along the way. The dialogue has more cliches than you can shake a Kirby-Dot stick at, but it works somehow.

Recommended, especially for Marvel fans.

The action is well written and there were some good twists. I also enjoyed the team work and the interesting enemies that could seem identical to the heroes. I would recommend to anyone who likes action adventure and Marvel.

This one was not as good as the first in the series, but if you enjoy Iron Man (captain america, war machine and black panther) than I think this one is good.

Iron Man 2: Operation A.I.M. is a great addition to the Marvel prose series. A follow up to Ironman: The Armor Trap. This adventure takes us back to the deep ocean were A.I.M had a secret lab up into outer space to another A.I.M. lab. to Wakanda where Captain America meets up with Black Panther, and War Machine continues his adventure to keep the world safe. This story takes you across the globe and back and keeps you entertained the entire time.

Adaptoids!

M.O.D.O.K. 1.5 tries to harness a devastating energy source with the help of his minions. But it's "Avengers Assemble" as Captain America, Black Panther, and War Machine join Iron Man to save the day. Solid heroics with a dash of philosophical musings and some unintentional hilarity.
