Um, how did my kid find his way onto my Goodreads page? Well, I did read Club Penguin Comics, so I might as well leave it here. Here's a review. As comics for kids go, this is a well-done little book. The humor is a bit sardonic, which is a pleasant surprise for an adult reading a kids' book. And they try to get in jokes about many different parts of the "Club Penguin world". My children and I have some "in jokes" from having all read this book- all I have to do is announce "The Cheese 3000!" and it diffuses any tension we may have had around. Well, I have actually only done that once, but I should try it more often. The book is quite short. I have several Club Penguin fans in my house and they pass it around a lot, so I guess I got my four dollars worth. The comics are almost all in-jokes for CP players. A kid who is a big Club Penguin fan and enjoys comics will probably love this book. If a kid plays CP occasionally, they will likely also enjoy the book. If a kid is not familiar with CP, they won't really get the jokes.
This book truly immersed me into the world of these colorful penguins. After I was half way done with the book I wished there was more, it almost made me cry, but I told myself I can't cry over books. I believe this book gave you a code for the online club penguin game and when you redeemed it you would be a epic cool boss online. To me these comics were just more than comics, they were stories of a lifetime. So many of these comics made me laugh out loud, and go "HAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAH", this book was just a wonderful experience to read and I hope many other people discover this compassionate book. This is a spoiler free review by the way!😎😎😎
I picked this up on a whim when I saw it, especially missing Club Penguin after the official closing earlier this year. The compilation is pretty short, and featured comics that I even remember reading on the original site 10 or so years ago. I loved how the comics were cute, but also made some self-referential jokes about the site itself. It made me really nostalgic for when I used to play Club Penguin all the time, and honestly held up more than I thought it would. The site was a pretty big part of my childhood, and this was like a nice flashback to the old days.
Club Penguin Comic is a very funny book and it relates to the computer game which was also very good. The penguins in the book good senses of humor. In conclusion, club penguin has a good book!
I got this from my school’s book fair when I was eight. I think I used a prize coupon to buy it. I wish I had access to the other Club Penguin comics because I love this one. Even reading it fifteen years later, the humor is still so good. Such nostalgia, too!
