A fascinating overview on the history of Islam, made sometimes a little hard to read by thorough examinations of single writers. The parts of the text dealing with the great lines of Islam's history, however, are excellent material for such a beginner as myself. I'll return to the parts with the individual theologians when I've collected a more thorough knowledge of the big lines.
