Eponalisa: The Fall Ride

Rate this book

Riding her horse, Clarity, is Lisa's favorite activity. She wants her life to be built around horses, but her parents have other ideas - none of which appeal to Lisa. How does she know what direction is right for her?

On one of her morning rides, Lisa encounters Epona, the Goddess of All Horses, and is offered the chance to provide a valuable service to the equine world. When she accepts, she is transformed into the Fairy Eponalisa and sets out on a journey to bestow Pronouncements of Callings for horses who, like her, may not yet understand their life purpose.

Through her journey as Eponalisa, she brings peace to those of the Equine Realm and finds peace within herself.

This book is similar to the Behind the Mist Trilogy by M. J. Evans. The story is simple enough for a 4th grader or above but also relevant to adults, even with it being an easy read. I found the random capitalization of words distracting initially; however, when I finished and looked back through, I realized the capitalized words were all values or equivalent words and that it as likely done intentionally by the author to draw the reader into those words. So, while it's not my preference, I can see the importance of doing it.

This enchanting book is one of those that can be enjoyed by all ages. I found myself turning the pages quickly, to see what comes next, but also stopping to stare off into space, reflecting upon the positive and life-affirming messages being conveyed. I sincerely hope the author writes a full series. I will definitely be gifting this book to others.
