Another win from the trio of terror. I don't know if it's because these were Christmas stories, but they felt less extreme to me and had more heart. Yes, the stories were brutal, gory and horrific as you would expect. The reader obituaries were hilarious. I loved each story and really hope there's a vol 4 in the works!
Extreme horror's deadliest trio is back with more bloody Obituaries! And this time they're Christmas themed. This is the longest of The Obituaries series to date, but I read it in a single sitting with some egg nog, some holiday music, and my couch hogging great dane.
Things start off with the brutal ""All Hail the Christmas Star" by Daniel J. Volpe. This is a tale of extreme Christmas carnage, with a huge body count, some dirty sex, and the grossest advent calendar ever!
Aron Beauregard is next with his story "The Hidden Horror", about a killer nurse who is confronted by her brother. It has Bearegard's signature gruesome content with an extra dark comedy slant at the end.
Last is my personal favorite, "Fat Fuck" by Kristopher Triana. Its about a cursed Santa Claus getting mixed up with satanists who want to have food fetish orgies with him. It's just as wild as it sounds, and filled with Triana's unique brand of depravity. The finale to this one is insane!!
An added bonus in the back is the mock Obituaries, which is the funniest part of these book. So splatter fans rejoice. This is the best Christmas ever!!
Welp, the trifecta has done it again! These stories were definitely gory, blood filled and had disgusting sex scenes that I doubt will be out of my head for quite some time! Oh and the obituaries at the end were just as raunchy! You guys rock and gave me a whole new outlook on Christmas...🎅🔪🩸
This edition of The Obituaries contains 3 stories full of holiday cheer, cults, serial killers, blood soaked gore, elves and of course the fat man himself Santa. I really enjoyed 2 of the 3 stories included in this edition. Overall it’s a fun and quick holiday horror read.
Three Christmas stories from three of my favorite authors! I will absolutely never look at winter wonderlands, assisted living, and santa the same ever again. If you don't mind depraved scenes, gore, and sex ( as well as mutilation ), then this is definitely for you! I thoroughly enjoy anything that these guys put out, this holding true to their twisted imaginations.
What can you say about this book? The trio has done it again. Another great holiday read with stories to wrench your guts among other things. They were all great, but my favorite was Volpe’s story. I’m always going to go with the one that gives zombie vibes. Thanks for making my Christmas bright and disgusting!
The more I read by Volpe, the more I realize how much I enjoy his work. Out of the first 3 issues, this was definitely my favorite from him. An uplifting tale about a cultist and his unleashing of holiday horrors.
All hail King Beauregard! He made Christmas the most wonderful time of the year indeed. The ending I hoped for, I received.
"He had no use for skinny bitches. What the hell was sexy about bones?" Haha. Triana, those lines were felt in my heart. A jolly tale about the consuming nature of Christmastime. I felt with this one like I did with Volpe's story in issue #1, where I'm half grinning and thinking what the hell is wrong with this author, all the while being entirely fascinated to read more, captivated with the grotesque.
Pure brutality from Volpe. A story of Christmas bedlam soaked in gore. A surprising and delightful change of pace from Beauregard. More serial killer thriller than flat out, turn-your-face-green extreme horror. Triana's story was hilarious. It felt like it could be a Christmas side quest from his book, The Night Stockers. Christmas fun for the whole family!
With just a couple days until Christmas, it’s a time of holiday cheer. The smell of hot cocoa and peppermint in the air. Sleigh bells ringing. The anticipation of family reunions, overeating and the yearly ritual of exchanging gifts. Ahhh, but a girl can only take so much of this type of happiness so she turns to her oh so very happy place, horror. And in a rare turn of events, is continuing some joyful holiday reading by picking up this Christmas edition of The Obituaries by three horrific gentlemen whose brain matter I hope to swim in some day. So watch your heads, boys. 😈 • 🌟 ALL HAIL THE CHRISTMAS STAR by @dj_volpe_horror - I think in this case, I would want to be one of the Christmas babies. 😏 Gimme that green bracelet and let me loose!
💉THE HIDDEN HORROR by @aronbeauregardhorror - um, I buy clear trash bags… wtf. 😆 This story gives me the 2,443,798th reason I’m glad I don’t have children. Somebody hand me that syringe.
🎅🏻FAT FUCK by @kristopher_triana - feed me, Santa!! I’ll never look at another Santa the same way again. Also, that end scene makes my vagina hurt. Hail Santa. • Such a fun little extreme horror collection. Watch your sensibilities should you choose to read this… and I hope you do. 😏 Ring a ding ding y’all.
Tis the season for blood, gore, and roasted chestnuts! The trifecta have swooped in and left me a present under my Christmas tree. Each story was a season's greeting of macabre massacre. The unique Christmas twist from each author made this book my new favorite Christmas story. Jingle jingle with axes and bottles of blood; this book never stops being an assault on your faculties. I wanted more and I got the third volume. I'll never stop wanting more from these guys.
These three did it again. The Obituaries #3 did not disappoint. All Hail the Christmas Star | Daniel J Volpe The Hidden Horror | Aron Beauregard Fat Fuck | Kristopher Triana
If you havent picked up one of the 300 copies available, do it! Do it now. You wont be disappointed.
