Making Waves is about three girls who are best friends and they are starting junior high school this coming up school year. Then during the summer Emily, LJ, and Jenna the three best friends are sitting by the pool when some girl shows up. They don't recongize her. She is the new girl to the town. The three girls were just watching her when she didn't know who to sit by she started going up to Sara and she is the meanest girl in the whole school. So Emily got up and said come sit by us. So the new girl did and they started talking. They found out her name is Aubrey, she just barely moved here. Emily invited her to hangout with the girls this weekend so Aubrey did. They had a lot of fun so they all kept hangout more and more. Then they all became pretty good friends with Aubrey. She fit into their group really well. So Emily, LJ, and Jenna were planning to go to the movies this friday and they invited Aubrey to come. Aubrey said she was coming then when they all got there they waited and waited for Aubrey to show up but she never did. She didn't even call or anything. The next day they saw Aubrey and was asking where she was, Aubrey said sorry it was an emergency I had to go with my mom to the doctor. They girls understood and forgave her, but that wasn't the last time it happened again the next time they were planing to hangout. Aubrey didn't even call and say she couldn't make it she just never showed up. Now the three girls were startig to get mad because Aubrey would just always make up really lame excuses that they could not believe casue they were so fake. Aubrey just kept apologizing over and over again for not being able to come to almost everything they did.

On LJ's suprise birthday party Aubrey helped plan it with Emily and Jenna. She didn't even show up to that party either. But she got LJ the best present ever! She got them all tickets to a concert! They couldn't be mad at Aubrey after she got them all tickets to a concert. They went and had a really good time and best of all Aubrey actually showed up! The main singer at the concert was going to pick someone out of the audience and sing with her on the stage. The singer picked LJ so she got to go onto the stage and sing with him! She was so happy but Emily was wondering what a coincidence because it was her birthday and out of a million people why would he choose her? Emily kindof thought that Aubrey might have had something to do with it but she didn't want to say anything cause LJ was having a really good time and she didn't want to ruien it.

The fall talent show was coming up and Emily was singing a duet with Tyler(Emily's secret crush) and so LJ, Jenna, and Aubrey were going to sing a song from hairspray called "you can't stop the beat" Jenna was woried to do it with Aubrey because she thought that she was going to bail on them again. So Jenna and LJ made her promise that she would be there and that she could not ditch them again. They went to go get some costumes for it while Emily and Tyler were rehearsing. They found the best costumes to wear for it! They looked excatly like the characters from the real hairspray movie. They were so excited and they really wanted to beat Sara and her group. The talent show had come up so fast it was already here. They were watching all the acts just waiting for their turn to go up and sing in front of a bunch of people. Jenna wasn't nervous but the rest of them were really nervous. Emily and Tyler were up first in their age group they both did a really good job and everyone in the audience loved it! Then it was Aubrey, LJ, and Jenna. They were so excited! They did so good and because their costumes were so perfect the audience was screming before they even started. When their act was almost over Aubrey's mom went behind stage and gave Aubrey a two thumbs up. Emily was watching it all happen right when that happened Aubrey did a cartwheel off the stage and ran to her mom. Then the act was over LJ and Jenna went off the stage wondering where Aubrey had gone. Then Aubrey came down with the most famous teenager that all the girls were obsessed with and said I can tell you why I have been ditching you guys so much. All the girls were just waiting patiently. Aubrey said I have been making a TV show and I wasn't sure if it was a forsure thing and now it is it just got finished and now it is going to play on TV in october! She was so excited and all the girls were jumping because they were so proud of her and excited. They weren't mad at Aubrey at all because she didn't know if the TV show was really going to work out and this time it did. They all went home together and had a sleepover that night cause they knew they were not going to beable to sleep casue they were all just so excited! They were friends with a famous person and they didn't even know it. They were the most popular girls in junior high and they were all best friends.

These are the best books i have read all of them except the recent ones..they may look like little kid books or whatever but they are seriously like AMAZING!..They are all good but none of them have the same characters but i would defiantly reccomend them to like any girl between the ages of 9-13..they remind me of like a miny clique series ..so good :)

Making Waves is part of the Candy Apple children's series. This story will appeal to elementary age girls and is a story of friendship with a little innocent romance as well.

A story about these group of friends that just accepted the new girl into their group. Whenever, they try and hang out the girl always ditches them and makes lame excuses. In the end, the girl was shooting a TV show and couldn't reveal anything until she finished filming. The end.

Making Waves is by Randi Reisfeld and H.B. Gilmour and a book in the Candy Apple Series.

Emily and her friends, LJ and Jenna, are members of the Franklin Lakes Swim Club. When Emily was in third grade, the Ice Queens, a brat pack that goes to their school, stopped being Emily’s friend. Luckily for her, LJ and Jenna stood up for her and the three have been inseparable ever since.

One day at the club, a new girl, Aubrey, comes and is snubbed by the Ice Queens. Emily feels the need to come to her rescue because of what happened to her in the third grade. Aubrey is a military brat but assures the girls that she won’t have to move anymore. Emily and her friends think Aubrey is really cool and charismatic and could be really pretty if she tried.

The girls start to hang out but at time, Aubrey has an excuse that she has to leave. She does this so often and sometimes isn’t at places or events when she says she’ll be there. This causes Jenna and LJ to get aggravated, but every time, Emily sticks up for Aubrey. Why does Aubrey keep disappearing?

This is the first book in the Candy Apple series that I’ve read. I thought the book was ok. I liked that Emily stuck up for Aubrey but did voice at times that it wasn’t right how Aubrey was at times. I will read more of this series, but I’m going to be more selective of the ones I choose to read. I think young girls will like this story though.

T H O U G H T S:

this is the childhood book that was most dear to me. something about the girls and their friendship absolute captured my heart and never let go, to this day. i'm not ashamed to say that this is the first book i turn to when i feel most broken, most alone, most betrayed. i find a piece of myself inside it every time, the charm of a little girl's innocence and the sweetness of a little girl's hope.

It was pretty cute... It had a little too much consumerism for my taste, but I got over it. Near the end it had me singing show tunes non-stop! It was really easy reading though, because it was definitely meant for a younger audience of young middle schoolers and older elementary schoolers.

I recently finished the book Making Waves by Randi Reisfeld. It is in the realistic fiction genre. It is about the three girls in green lakes, meeting a new girl name Aubrey, who is a new girl there.
