I read the book to look at the featured illustrations and get a perspective on the overall landscape...

The historical and ideological development of illustration provides an interesting context to view the potential of illustration in influencing the thinking of the day... and the narrative on folklore/myths, science fiction and virtual worlds shows the power of imagination and how it can bring to life imaginary worlds...

Just a casual read...
