Thank you Peter Kreeft for citing this in 3 Philosophies. Immediately ascends to my Rushmore of creative nonfiction.
The relationship between word and image, the blunt reality of Ecclesiastes, the harmony of the Testaments, existential philosophy, Christ as the questioner and the only answer… it’s all here in a creative form decades ahead of its time in terms of modern relevance.

"The difference between the Old and the New Testaments is the difterence between a man who said 'There is nothing new under the sun' and a God who says 'Behold, I make all things new.”
Really like the book. Part 1 is wonderful. I spent much time contemplating the pictures and moving slowly through the text. Adds layers and depth. Part two is the portion of the book that was merely good. I find I am a thoroughly metamodern, I.e. post, post modern man. Thus, this part of the book had a disconnect for me. I found myself in disagreement with many of the sub-points, though I thought the part was good as a whole as there are still good arguments strewn throughout. Too many anachronisms for me though. Part three gets great again. Though there are theological points I differ on or would state differently, I thought part three was really good and made a strong case. In the end, parts 1 and 3 get 5 stars while part 2 gets 3 stars.
