**I was sent this book for free from the author in return for my honest review**

I'll start off by saying that if you haven't seen my review of book one in the series, Inharmonic, be sure to check it out here.

I really loved the first book so I loved being invited to the street team for the author and being sent book two in this awesome series.

I wanted to take a second to mention the book cover. I love this one! Probably more than the first. The colours really work well together and I love the composition.

This time the book is from the view point of Helaine- the roommate and close friend from the main character in the first book. She was actually one of my favourite characters so I really enjoyed getting to know her more. Her story, character and secret power are really fascinating and a joy to read about. I love her caring nature and the determination she has to help her friends no matter the cost.
I'd love to learn even more about her past and her power later on in the series.

I'll admit I really wanted to know more about Nadja and her situation but I also loved getting to read from another character's point of view. I'm really looking forward to learning more about what Nadja has been going through though.

The book is very well written and exciting. I really loved the touch of mystery that has been thrown into the story. The conservatory in particular is always written beautifully in that I can picture myself there. The description is beautifully written and really draws me in and captivates me.

I'm really looking forward to reading more of the series.

Both the books are fun to read and you should definitely check them out if you haven't already.

Well... this is a shallow book that is too short, in my opinion, to be considered a novel. It's more like a long-ish short story. The second installment of The Music Maker series focuses on Helaine, the best friend of Nadja, the main character in the first book. Helaine is extremely beautiful and extremely sweet, hesitant and shy, and has an extremely sweet and noble boyfriend who vows to always take care of and protect her. So, yeah, that trope. She has an interesting magical adjunct to her musical talent. It goes away, then it comes back, and she doesn't know why. And she's fine with that. The reader doesn't get much insight into Helaine - certainly no true character depth is revealed in this book - due to the overall focus on Helaine's obsession with finding out why Nadja has gone away, even though everyone reassures her that Nadja is safe and with family. The whole exercise just felt lazy to me.

Doesn't disappoint although it is about Helaine not Nadja

I really enjoyed book 2 of the series although Nadja and Pac don't really feature in it.it's more about Helaine and what she does after Nadja has left to find her uncle. It's still a great story although maybe not quite as good as the first one in my opinion. It feels almost like a fill-in story of what's happening at the school. I'm really excited to read book 3 though as it seems like it's more about Nadja again, and I want to see what happens carrying on from the end of this book!

This is a short read, the story of Helaine, Nadja's roommate. Side effects of being asleep for three days at first thrill's Helaine but then she realizes what she is missing. She gets to thinking about Nadja, who has gone missing, and all the things that happened before she left and she comes to some startling conclusions.

I have received a free Digital ARC of this in return for an honest review…
So this book picks up right after the last one.. and I loved seeing a new characters point of view for this series, seeing the way someone else thinks is so much fun. And I love This character as much as I loved Nadja! These books just draw me in and absolutely captivate me! I was genuinely concerned about Helaine, hoping she would find a way to solve her problem while trying to figure out what happened to her best friend! I Can’t wait for the next book. I need to know what happens to these characters next and how they’re going to handle everything! This series is so much fun with the musical elements. This was a fantastic and whimsical book, i always find Novellas too short so I wish it was longer but, I highly recommend this series.

This was a fun, quick read. It's the second book in the Music Maker Series, which began with Inharmonic. This one is the length of a novella, however, so in that way it is a little odd. Normally in a series the books stay similar in length. Regardless, this gives us some great insight into a couple of the side character from the first book. I particularly enjoyed some of the details we received on the magic system, as well as giving some other characters a chance at the spotlight. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I'm looking forward to the next book in the series, which I hope dearly will be longer.

What a fun book to read. Well written, it takes up after book one as summer starts and is about Helaine and what she basically does over the summer. It had a few mysteries running through it that Helaine had to solve besides finding a new summer work/study. My honest review is that I liked how clean the story was and the pace was good. I read it all in one sitting as I had to know what Helaine would discover. I liked the bit of mysteries woven into the tale and had to see what happened in the end. Just a fun read that sucked me in. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

A fun novella looking at Helaine and what she faces as a result of Nadja's song and disappearance. Short and sweet, and my first introduction to the world of synesthesia (a real-life condition where the brain crosses two senses. In Helaine's case, she can smell sounds). Loved it!
