Everybody knows that Daniel Feeny was suicidal. Now he's missing. No note. No sign of self-harm. No trace of him at all. Ali and her friends know something, but they've vowed to keep quiet.
Why? And will anybody ever know what really happened to him?
This book was a perfect read from my sister by Anne Cassidy. The plot and characters was amazing and very entertaining. Personally I think she couldve made it a longer book with more detail but perhaps the point was to make it short. I esposcially liked how when Ali was dealing with “stuff” the author portryaed her emotions very well. Overall 4 stars bcs it was a very good read but not the best ever P.s im gonna read all the other Anne Cassidy books so cant wait :))
Review: Just don't have the heart to give a summary of the book. The story is pretty slow after the first two chapters. Not a page-turner; even made me want to quit reading, but I decided to finish it anyway (after some time, finally). I liked other books of this author, just not this one, sorry.
Well, this book tried to win me over, but honestly, the concept was a total yawn! I almost gave up at 30%, but i kept going thinking something exciting would happen, but nope nothing did happen. I had high hopes for a four-star read, but oh well, it's a grumpy two stars from me.
There was no real ending, but the storyline was alright. I was disappointed with the reason for his death though, and for his attempted suicide, it seemed too trivial
This book was really good, I enjoyed the back and forth from past to present. I do think it could’ve been a bit more suspenseful, and the reason for Daniel’s death was a bit uninteresting. I think there also should’ve been more About Ali and finding Daniel alive in the container, I know it wasn’t but it just felt a little pointless as there wasn’t much to it; a little anticlimactic if you will. But over all, a nice little murder mystery type thriller with well written characters, that didn’t take an age to read. Maybe a good little holiday read.

A big miss for me. Truly unlikeable characters, took forever for the plot to unfold, I couldn't stand hearing Alison's constant whining about how in love she was with this terrible asshole Jackson, etc. And pure stupidity all around. They all collectively did the shocked Pikachu face after they did something that they should've KNOWN would end terribly, had they possessed one or two braincells.
This is my first read by this author. Was definitely a page turner! A boy is saved from committing suicide, but ends up being a victim. A murder mystery involving 4 teenagers. Although I will say it is worth the read as it is a short book, I didn't feel close to any of the characters like I usually do in a book and was disappointed by the ending. I read it really quick because I really wanted to know what happened, it was overall a good book though.
I remember loving Anne Cassidy books when I was a young teen. I think reading Looking for JJ was what broke me into the crime genre but without it being too scary yet. And I absolutely loved it.
I've read this one before but I've forgotten most of it now. Reading it again did bring back bits and pieces but it wasn't like how it was before. I guess I've just grown up.
The plot was okay; a high school boy commits suicide but Alison and her friends save this boy's life and let's just leave it at that.
What I liked most was how the story unfolds; it's told from Alison's point of view but goes back and forth in the past and the present so you sort of know what's already happened but it's the suspense that keeps you going, like how did it happen? The present Alison keeps hinting at something terrible and that's basically how the story unfolds.
But even though I was a bit disappointed with this book, I am still really keen on rereading her other ones. I remember absolutely loving Forget Me Not and a few others and it'll be quite interesting to see how they hold up after all these years.
There is YA, and then there is...well, YA. This is everything that is wrong about YA. The story was shallow, the characters weren't interesting at all and the main character, Ali, was just a pain in the backside. It sounds awful, but about the best bit about the book was the fact that she paid for her behaviour in the end. I am not totally against YA - but if I compare Ali, who is 16, to say Blue from The Raven Boys who is also 16, they are worlds and worlds apart. I'll be honest, I think two stars is being generous here.
I liked this book because it was definitely a page turner, but after a while, I felt that the story was moving along too slowly. However, I do like how in this book, the heroes become the murderers. I also liked how this book gave the readers information, instead of having random surprises that made no sense. This book was full of suspense, which made it good for a summer read. However, the characters were very flat and boring, and throughout the whole book, the actions of the characters became rather predictable. This book was nowhere near as good as "Looking for JJ" and "Missing Judy".
This is another brilliant novel by Anne Cassidy. This book is a mix of thriller and crime. It's based on teenage love, relationships and dreadful mistakes. This novel alternates from past to present which makes this book more interesting. The past comes back to haunt the four teenagers who were at first involved in saving the life of a boy and who are then responsible for his death. However it is a really slow book and takes a while to get the main story of the book. This is a very griping book and i recommend it to anyone.
This book was very flat overall. The characters didn't seem to have much personality and as a result it was hard to connect to them. It only really got good in the last six chapters or so. Not helped by the fact the majority of the plot is given away by the blurb, so really it was just a long, dull wait until you reached a part where you didn't know what was going to happen. Very disappointing. Technically not a bad book, just a boring one
A murder mystery involving four teenagers one of whom is saved from commiting suicide but then becomes a victim. The main character Ali is a weak, pathetic girl and yet just why she is so limited in her actions is never fully explored. All the characters seem quite 'under done'. No where near as thrilling as Anne Cassidy's excellent novel about assumed identities "Looking for JJ".
I did really like thise book the whole way through, i thought it was a good stroyline and i liked all of the characters. But i didn't like the ending as a rarely do with Anne Cassidy's books. They always seem to end really badly and not actually explain what happens to the characters. Would have given this at least 4 stars if it weren't for the rubbish ending.
Well, It was definatly a fast read for me! I wanted to know what happened at the end (and kind of still do) It was an alright book but I didn't like the main character and was confused by the ending! I did like the plot though which is why it got three stars! :D
I really didn't like this book I found it boring and trivial, I didn't expect much I just randomly picked it off a library shelf but I expected more than this it was just so bland.
