Rich melodic works in classical imagery of English poet John Keats include " The Eve of Saint Agnes ," " Ode on a Grecian Urn ," and " To Autumn ," all in 1819.

Works of Percy Bysshe Shelley include "Adonais," an elegy of 1821 to John Keats.

Work of the principal of the Romantic movement of England received constant critical attacks from the periodicals of the day during his short life. He nevertheless posthumously immensely influenced poets, such as Alfred Tennyson. Elaborate word choice and sensual imagery characterize poetry, including a series of odes, masterpieces of Keats among the most popular poems in English literature. Most celebrated letters of Keats expound on his aesthetic theory of "negative capability."

Why did I laugh to-night? No voice will tell

Why did I laugh to-night? No voice will tell:
No God, no Demon of severe response,
Deigns to reply from Heaven or from Hell.
Then to my human heart I turn at once.
Heart! Thou and I are here, sad and alone;
I say, why did I laugh! O mortal pain!
O Darkness! Darkness! ever must I moan,
To question Heaven and Hell and Heart in vain.
Why did I laugh? I know this Being's lease,
My fancy to its utmost blisses spreads;
Yet would I on this very midnight cease,
And the world's gaudy ensigns see in shreds;
Verse, Fame, and Beauty are intense indeed,
But Death intenser — Death is Life's high meed.

I really liked Keats' poems. I found this book quite challenging as it was the first time I've read not-so-modern English and the first time I've read poetry in English. I struggled through some of the poems, not because I didn't love them, but because it was hard for me to catch the whole meaning of the sentence. However, with the Spanish translation, the help of Wordreference and the experience I gathered as read I finished the book with no problem and enjoying the poems a lot!
A great example that stepping out of your comfort zone can be great.

Some of my favourite poems by Keats are there, a good ensemble in my opinion. Sums up pretty much everything he wrote.
