This is a third book in the trilogy on the Bible by Fulton Oursler. The first was the greatest story ever told, The second was the greatest book ever written and the third the greatest faith ever known by Fulton Orsler and his daughter, April. The first book in the series was the greatest story ever told about the life of Christ, The second book in the series was the greatest book ever written was about the Old Testament in the Bible. And the third book in the series the greatest faith ever known, is the story about Christian faith in the church after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is a wonderful story of faith which encompasses all the lives of the disciples and the workers of the church, but largely dealing with the ministries Peter and Paul. I really enjoyed reading this book, Peter and Paul's ministry came to life in the pages of this book, as I was reading the words on the page I became aware that I was there walking in faith and talking and listening to the ministries of Peter and Paul. Reading the book brought me back to life, It made me realize how spiritually dead I have become and what I have been missing in the fellowship and walking with our Lord. If you want to take a journey back to Jerusalem and Rome and the evangelistic field that Peter and Paul walked, please read this book. This book is what I really needed to bring me back to feeling again and loving life. If you feel like you were missing something in life and feel a little numb, this book is for you.

I read The Greatest Story Ever Told and decided to continue with The Greatest Faith Ever Known. Reading the apostolic epistles can be difficult to understand as they were written by an author to an audience for a specific reason—namely there’s a problem, in a particular context, with a set of known players, that needs to be addressed. The prose form of The Greatest Faith Ever Known tells the story in a narrative, cohesive manner, providing context that greatly improved my understanding of the early Church, especially the roles of Peter and Paul. I now have a newfound appreciation for the sacrifice of the Apostles, and the human struggles they faced when carrying out their charge.

Read for OLR book club but I liked The Greatest Story Ever Told better. This one was a little too long and dry for me. Good choice right after Quo Vadis though.
