In present day London, vampires live side-by-side with mortals living under two sets of laws. The Romanorum make the vampire rules, helping the Princes who rule the cities. This is set in a world where vampires have "come-out" to the world and live in the open. Cities are set up as kingdoms ruled by princes responsible for enforcing both vampire and mortal laws. Rogue vampires are hunted and exterminated by Hunters and vampire enforcers. The formula for making new vampires is a tightly guarded secret but someone is causing mayhem by giving out the formula and creating rogue vampires. This brings together the Prince of London, Mael, and Cian the infamous vampire hunter when Cian rescues Brandon, a newly made vampire on the run from his rogue creator.
Okay....it took a little extra effort :-) to understand the vampire tiers and formulas and such. The writing had an even flow to it, no surprises, no jack-in-the box moments. Honestly, I was more interested in Brandon's development than in the build up between Mael and Cian. They were predictable. Brandon is the character who caught and held me thought out the book. I might not have finished it if I didn't want to know what happen to him. And just for the record, he got the shaft. Kind of pissed me off. He is SCREAMING for someone to love him and first Cian can't because he's got it bad before Mael. But Cornelius's excuse just doesn't fly. It's weak and flimsy to my barbaric mind. I still don't understand why Mael won't let Cornelius have an intimate relationship with Brandon. If Brandon is in the next book in the series, I'll read it, not caring if everything is going to hell in a hand basket. Got to have my Brandon resolution.

Very good the union of an angel and a vampire!
My first comment about this book is how amazing the writing is!
Even if I found editing problems I think the story is very interesting and the multiple narrators left the book much more entertaining.

In this book there is a second nucleus of story, and certainly you will be bewitched!
It's Brendon, a young vampire, and Cornelius, a mage, love story
BUT my reason of giving 4 not 5 star is their fault.
Something was missing... their "end" didn't satisfy me and Cornelious speech of deny annoy me... he keep saying and repeating how their relationship were against Mael approve... well, I didn't saw Mael disapprove, so I just hate every time he used it... poor Brandon... I liked the mage, but in my view he deserve a better partner.
So 4 stars, and I really liked Mael and Cian story! A lot!

Damn, damn, damn, damn... DAMN!!!!
Oh sweet Jesus, I fucking loved this book!! I mean.. Just.. Wow!
I had no expectations at all, before starting reading this book, and I found myself reading it in one go. I think my house could have caught on fire without me noticing it.. I was that far gone!
The overall plot and story is great, but its the love story between Mael and Cian that just blew my mind! I cant even explain why I completely fell in love with these two hot guys, but from the first time they meet, it was just.. It was just the perfect mix of lust that turns to love that turns to everything else.. Its just SOOOO good!
More times than one, I sat there reading with my mouth open, and couldnt get to the next page quickly enough..
And then there were the sex.. Can you say H.O.T ?? If you cant, you should read this book, and then I have no doubt, you'll be able to say just that..
The ending..? O.M.G! Best fucking ending in any book I've ever read. Any book that ends with those 2 words, deserves at least 5 stars, I just really wish I could give this many more than that! Amazing!

If not for my many challenges I would never have picked this book up and what a shame that would have been. I really loved it. And I don't generally do the whole fantasy thing. It was at times sweet, brutal, sexy and heartbreaking. A vampire prince and a vampire killing angel, who'd a thunk it? Fabulous!!

I don’t know why I bother with these two authors anymore.
Didn’t care for the MCs, even less so for the secondary pair.
Plot holes, contradictions and lack of logic are the shining stars in this piece of fiction.
1 star. Will not continue with the series.
PS watch out for m/f non-con torture scene between a male demon(?) and a female vampire.

Good potential, but reads more like a first draft than a finished copy

Rating: 5/10
PROS:
- Interesting story elements. I had several “Oooh, cool” moments, especially pertaining to the weaving of the characters’ lives in with those of famous historical figures. (I don’t read a lot of supernatural or vampire stories, though, so some of those moments might not be as neat for people who have more experience than I do with the genre.)
- Decent plot with a pretty good initial hook. I was interested in the story early on.
- Good buildup of sexual tension between Cian and Mael and later, between Cornelius and Brandon. (I actually found the latter two characters more interesting than the two protagonists, and I hope Cornelius and Brandon get a good chunk of the attention in the book’s sequel.)
CONS:
- The writing becomes frustratingly disjointed once the story really gets going. As another reviewer pointed out, the characters’ dialogue at times is just strange: the words proceed point-by-point in response to other characters’ comments (Mael will say, “A, B, C,” and then Cian will answer with, “Response to A, Response to B, Response to C”). Also, sometimes the dialogue simply doesn’t match up with what came before. “Have you lost your mind?” Cian asks at one point, and Mael responds, “no, I’m not” (rather than “no, I haven’t”).
- At times the characters act in irrational and/or unbelievable ways. Mael gets poisoned toward the end of the book, and while Cian is nursing him back to health, Mael starts sweating blood and thrashing around on the bed. What I didn’t understand was why Cian waits until “midday,” when “Mael’s thrashing had become worse,” to go and ask Cornelius whether the seizures are a bad thing.
- Some unnecessary repetition and passages in which the authors “tell” rather than “show.” For example, the authors tell us that “The enthusiasm the young vampire had shown…had [Cornelius] positively delighted,” when they’ve already shown us that “a twinkle lit [Cornelius’s] eyes” and that “he could barely contain himself.” We SEE that he’s delighted; no need to repeat it. Here’s another example: “Hearing the sound of his own name staggered Mael, and he realized he was the one Cian called out to in his fantasy.” Obviously, if Mael heard the sound of his own name, he realizes he was the one Cian called out to.
- The story is difficult to keep up with at times. There are a lot of characters, and many of them are referred to the first time by name with no description as to who they are or how they figure into the story.
Overall comments: There’s a good story here, but it’s not delivered terribly well. These authors have a lot of potential: there are instances throughout the book of sharp composition, but the story overall needed a heavy-handed editor. I found the book very frustrating to finish.

(This is not a proper review but a jumble of random personal thoughts about the book).
I'm sorry, can someone please tell me what "Come li ho bisogno" was supposed to mean? I am italian and i almost spent ten minutes trying to figure that out (and still couldn't eventually: that sentence just does not make sense). Also, according to the book "Che potrei averlo per sempre" means "[...] that I wanted to have you forever".What.
I am the first one who can't speak english well in the first place so i'm not trying to be pedant or offensive but honestly the improper use of a language is kind of a turn off in a book, especially when that language pops out in the middle of what is supposed to be a very romantic moment.
And about the romance here, despite the likeable start of the main couple (Mael, a vampire prince, and Cian, an angel who hunts rouge vampires) and what it could have been i really couldn't feel for them by the end, especially after:

I give this a a 3.5 star. What I liked about this book is that one of the main characters was an angel. You don't read a whole lot about angels in a paranormal settings, especially paired with a vampire. I enjoyed the interactions between the main characters, Mael and Cian and their desire to be together in spite of the fact that they shouldn't have been becuase if their species differences.
On a side note, I felt myself more drawn to the side characters, Brandon and Cornelius, more than the main characters. I'm not sure I can really pinpoint why, just that I looked forward to their time in the book. And I hope the next book is about them.
For a first book that I've ready by these authors, I enjoyed it and would be interested in reading more by them.

It's ridiculous the amount of time it took me to finish this book. It was so weird and boring and confusing. I did not see any chemistry between the characters, their conversations felt forced every single time, no story line. We never find out who the terrible bad guy behind Selena is. We never find out why Cian was sent to earth to kill rogues, we never find out the story between Cornelius and Mael and why Cornelius is so scared to move on. I'm still not sure why it was so forbidden for Cian and Mael to fall for each other. I did not like it.

I really enjoyed this book. There was some strange dialog from time to time that had me guessing while the characters tried to hold more than 1 conversation topic at a time. It got confusing and I had to reread sections but other than that the story was engaging and quite interesting.

This was quite an interesting read, I did like this book. It just wasn't... straight up good, or straight up bad (no pun intended)...
At first, it took a little time to get into the story, a lot of things that were going on weren't explained or described so one would understand what this was all about. Then, it got very romantic and there came parts that I absolutely LOVED! It was very romantic at times, and I have to say I loved the theme and the characters, or the thought of the characters and what they could've been.
There are two romances in this story, the one between Mael and Cian, and the other one between the mage Cornelius and the ghoul Brandon. I liked the romance better between Cornelius and Brandon to be honest, and I liked the setting better when it was about them. The workroom was very interesting, and I saw it very clearly before me in my head. (Also, cred to the adorable spirit that lives in the mages workroom!)
Some parts just went over my head, like I didn't take in what was happening at that very moment. Therefore it wasn't a fast read, and it was hard to actually get involved. As with many erotic gay books, the plot didn't seem to be as important as the sex itself haha! It felt like the plot and the story was put together fast just to fill out the space between the sexes, which sucks because that's a pattern I've seen in many erotic homosexual novels. (Here, the idea of the plot was good, it just felt for me that it was hastily written and with not so much afterthought and consideration of how the story should be put up).
Also, the sex scenes and especially the kissing scenes were almost IDENTICAL to one another in description, language, you name it! Which just made it tiresome rather than arousing at the end...
Either way, this is just my very own opinion, and as soon as I put this book down (after having fast-read the last few pages) I did feel "Oh, well, I did like this one." But more the idea of them (the characters) and the book rather than how the book itself turned out.
I'd rate this 2,5/3 (weak) stars. <3

Ugh. I'm so sad that I have to give this a 3 star rating because the concept is so cool... but I ended up skipping pages in the latter half just to finish the book.
I really like the idea of an angel with a vampire prince: the opposites and the issues that they could potentially face could make for some delicious reading. The actual execution of the story, though, left me feeling kind of meh.
Both of the MCs are very powerful so their fights weren't very exciting to read about because the wins came so easy to them. When Mael had to battle the London queen vampire (can't even remember her name), she almost defeats him because of an allergy? It just seemed like a random weird cop-out to force a rescue that wasn't very exciting to read about.
The last half to third of the book also became a sappy sexfest with the MCs constantly waxing poetic about each other. That's when I started skipping pages - I didn't need to read more about how they adore each other, blah, blah, blah, but then the author added more to it by having Cornelius and his little vampire (who are both side characters) get their own arc in the story which added more potential sexfest blah, blah, blah and meant that I had to skip more pages.
We hear of the Romanorum (again, which has the potential to be pretty cool), but it's only mentioned in passing. The story doesn't really touch on human/vampire relations: all of the conflict is within the vampire community. So much was there that I thought I would be reading about but it ended up being mostly sex scenes and cheesy romance with a little bit of scuffling where the opponents had no chance.
Unfortunately I don't think I'll read the next in the series.

This book felt super unrealistic to me. The characters' conversations were super fake, did not feel like conversations you would have with someone (especially a person you like), the story was given to us in snippets that were just added to the book so it had more drive (but it did not help). The relationships did not make sense to me ().

There is nothing better than losing yourself int he pages of world new to you. a world that is creative and captivating. This is an amazing love story. Great for all who love MM and paranormal.

This was a great fantastical novel. A beautiful story that not only shows how a vampire prince and an angel fall in love, but is rich with death, action, side plots and characters whose stories will continue in the next book, and a new world to experience that is similar to ours, but with the public existence of the supernatural.
What I loved most about this was the love between Cian and Mael. It felt so soft, warm, and beautiful; it was so unsure at times, but grew constantly deeper nevertheless. The scenes of exploration were vivid and stimulating, I could practically feel in myself their wonder. I got completely lost in their scenes, as well as Brandon and Cornelius's scenes. I am also very excited to explore their budding relationship in the sequel.
Other than that, the action scenes were all very short (as many of these scenes were, which was sometimes off-putting--the character would go somewhere, talk for two minutes with some one, then leave; that happened over and over), but still good to read and imagine the descriptions of different powers. Cian, as an angel, had magical powers like the use of blue fire that he used in battle against the rogue vampires.
As much as I liked it, the editing and the consistency of the plot and actions of characters were lacking. The editing made me stumble over sentences until I understood them, and sometimes the POV would change randomly within a paragraph, throwing me off until I figured out whose eyes I was seeing through. Also, the lack of consistency in certain actions/decisions by the characters was annoying. For example, Cian, after he entered the relationship with Mael, decided that maybe Mael was better off without him, and was trying to resist Mael's pull, so he rather randomly avoided him for two weeks (which I also don't see why Mael allowed him to do that, he could have found him at any time, and would have wanted to), and then the first time he sees Mael, he forgets all that and acts in the opposite way, declaring himself and his perpetual desire for Mael and all that jazz. Many times a character would decide/act in one way, then turn around on the next page and act a completely different way. It was kind of silly, and made me throw up my hands a few times and lecture them through the screen.
Regardless of its few flaws, I really did like it. The story was exactly what I was in the mood for, and it didn't strike me upside the head with stupid characters or a senseless plot as many have done, so I could easily overlook the issues. If you like fantasy with vampires or angels, I highly recommend this. I am definitely going to read the sequel soon.
P.S. I love the cover! The figures represent the characters perfectly, and the coloring of it all, including the darkness and stars in the background, is gorgeous. Fits the mood of the book too, especially with the passion and slight desperation the figures are kissing with.

As much as I liked it, the editing and the consistency of the plot and actions of characters were lacking. The editing made me stumble over sentences until I understood them, and sometimes the POV would change randomly within a paragraph, throwing me off until I figured out whose eyes I was seeing through. Also, the lack of consistency in certain actions/decisions by the characters was annoying. For example, Cian, after he entered the relationship with Mael, decided that maybe Mael was better off without him, and was trying to resist Mael's pull, so he rather randomly avoided him for two weeks (which I also don't see why Mael allowed him to do that, he could have found him at any time, and would have wanted to), and then the first time he sees Mael, he forgets all that and acts in the opposite way, declaring himself and his perpetual desire for Mael and all that jazz. Many times a character would decide/act in one way, then turn around on the next page and act a completely different way. It was kind of silly, and made me throw up my hands a few times and lecture them through the screen.
Regardless of its few flaws, I really did like it. The story was exactly what I was in the mood for, and it didn't strike me upside the head with stupid characters or a senseless plot as many have done, so I could easily overlook the issues. If you like fantasy with vampires or angels, I highly recommend this. I am definitely going to read the sequel soon.
P.S. I love the cover! The figures represent the characters perfectly, and the coloring of it all, including the darkness and stars in the background, is gorgeous. Fits the mood of the book too, especially with the passion and slight desperation the figures are kissing with.

Hmmm....wow. I think in this instance I would like to give more than five stars. "The Prince's Angel" is a finely crafted urban fantasy with a beautiful gay romance at the heart. And with it, they take slow built passion to a new level. The two protagonists dance around each other, and their own feelings, suffering a lot of angst in the process. Quite delicious, really, as is the sex when they finally give in to one another. This is not to say there is a lack of horizontal action in the book; it just enhances the story rather than being the story. Oh, and the authors took the trouble to build a plot with mystery and action too. Naughty authors.
In the 1970's, vampires' existence was revealed to the world. In the present, they have rights, but also a ruling body with laws to govern them. Any vampire who acts outside these laws is rogue. Mael Black is the vampire Prince of London. And he has a steadily growing rogue problem. Now, many authors have inserted vampires into "regular" society as a story vehicle. Similarities to to Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake universe (with Princes of a City rather than Master of a City) can be seen, but there is a new twist. Heaven isn't just some vague notion - and angels are real. Enter Cian Carmichael. He is one of many angels sent by God to protect humanity and hunt rogues. Yup, he has wings! As the problem in London reaches dangerous levels, Cian will have to join forces with Mael to determine the cause. Complications arise when Cian realizes he's falling in love with Mael - a union between a vampire and an angel should never be. Should it? And what lengths will Cian go to protect Mael when a plot to assassinate them both disrupts their investigation and they learn the rogues lead back to the highest levels of power?
This novel is well-written and fast paced, with excellent dialog and a rich plot. Cian and Mael are completely three-dimensional with flaws, virtues, and all the range of emotions of real people. Readers will fall for them even more quickly than they fall for each other. The supporting characters are also well done and given enough backstory to make their parts come alive. Though the ending has closure, there are questions left unanswered, and unrequited love that needs requiting, that beg for a sequel - which a little bird told me will happen. Buy it now. Buy a copy for a friend.

This book it's strange because i would give it 4 for the words btw Mael and Cian tell each other,but at the same time some scenes make me go on 3 stars.The prince of London has a lover named Seth(lover is a big word bcs he's just an occasional lover with no love attachment),but after he and Cian start being together he avoids all the other casual relationships,infact in one scene Seth tries to seduce Mael and he refuses.They're jealous and possessive,but at the same time they kiss others,also if for friendship and not for ulterior motives,but those scenes really didnt amuse me at all,like the 1st one when Cial and Mael still are not a couple,and Cian spies Mael having sex with his ghoul Seth...boh..call me romantic...bah..If u ignore all those an focus on the beautiful words and how they're together,well is a good book,also the plot is not all sex centered so keeps the reader interested.About Cornelius and Brandon in this 1st book i really dont like them,and i would skip their scenes if i was u,in the 2nd book their relationship becomes better and also they're maybe more sincere about their feelings,a thing that Mael still cant do,because also if he cant lose Cian and wants always to be with him,he doesnt think he has still an heart and doesnt think he must be loved,but i think things will change soon,because only him cant see how much he loves Cian.Said this ignore all my grammar erros and read the series,because if it is not the nightrunner series (for me 5 stars) at last is not a book with just sex and a stupid plot.^^

An angel and a vampire together? Very very interesting.
The vampires are out in this world but there are a one thing or two I didn't understand. I'm probably dense or I need to read the next book but what the deal with the formulas? Also, I don't understand Cornelius' behavior but it's apparently explained in the next book. Still, it was really frustrating.
I don't really like when the story is about more than one couple. I need the book to focus entirely on one. I find the others annoying and getting in the way, like they steal pages that could have been used for my MCs. It's just a personal preference.
So I skipped some pages, sorry.
The story is pretty good and I was well interested at first. But there were some illogical and absurd things.
I wish there was more good angels stories. I'm really interested in them.

Have to say that re-read ruined this book for me totally. First time around it was 5 stars easy and I loved the whole trilogy.
Now only reason I finished it was Bingo and even then it was barely. There were logic holes everywhere and both the main couple and the secondary couple were idiots or had serious logic issues most of the book. I just didn't see the point what drove the characters and why they did what they did. Especially Cornelius' reasons not to touch Brandon were totally evading me. Not an ounce of reason or logic from my POV.
And then there was the incident with Cian and Brandon where Cian made Brandon promise not to tell anyone what he just saw. One, I don't know why Cian did the killing like he did when before he was quite capable doing the torching with out them. And Two, really nice to betray your friend's trust and tell Mael that Cian isn't actually human. He didn't say what Cian actually is but that is bad enough in my book. The trust is broken and the promise isn't worth the breath it took to say "I will never tell anybody about this".
So not going to re-read the rest of the books any time soon.

A star for writing style, and grammar - i found the story telling slick and eminently readable.
A star for the sex scenes - in this kind of m/m romance genre they matter a heck of a lot. A tad anally obsessive, but the hints of very modest funplay worked nicely.
Star and half for characterisation. No problems per say but i just felt we could have learnt more Especially about history or backstory for main character pair.
Then there is Seth, the little sex slave... id have enjoyed it more if the writers had let us into his head. Was he insecure, and felt being a ghoul gave him home and purpose? For a character who comes up so much, he remains 2d, which his a shame.
And a half star for plot. It could have been a four and a half job or even five if only the book a) actually concluded the brandon subplot (i mean, how much longer are they going to string him and ole Cornie out?)
b) gave the main characters more of a back story
But a solid m/m romance with angels and vampires - if this is your thing it is a must read!

5* – It was amazing. I am officially OBSESSED with these two authors. Their writing style from the second you pick up the book ensnares you. I couldn’t put it down and have read the trilogy atleast 5 times now. I begged my Review Coordinator at Torquere for thevothervtwo in this series becsuse I had to know what happened. This is one ofvthose book that it is extremely easy forvyour mind to transport you into the storybjust as if you were one of the characters. You may have noticed I didn’t mention must regarding steemybscenes, well there is a reason. They’re plenty of them throughout the book but trying to explain the scenes would do them absolutely no justice They are filled with passion written in such a way that the words reach out and demand you not put them down.

Mael doesn't quite know what to make of Cian, who is hiding behind the guise of being a sorcerer. Cian doesn't know what to make of his attraction to the vampire prince. They succumb to their attraction to each other while trying to figure out who is behind the rash of rogue vampires. Hot, sexy, and intriguing. Did I already say hot! Love between Mael, a vampire prince and Cian, an angel. I loved Mael and Cian.
I also loved and was a little frustrated with then secondary story of Brandon, a young newly turned vampire and Cornelius, Mael's court magician. I wanted Cornelius to grow a pair and not be afraid of what Mael 'might' do and just go for it with Brandon. Brandon the sweet, shy and sexy vampire just wants someone to love and to love him back. Could that be so hard?
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this and I can't wait to read the next book.

I really wanted to love this story but sadly, I just couldn't get into it. The abrupt shift from different points of view was distracting and sometimes it ruined the flow of the story. I loved Mael and Cian but the abrupt way in which their story ends left me feeling confused and cold; as if nothing was truly resolved between anyone. I'll give the second book a shot and hopefully this author's writing style gets better with practice.

Okay. This book was a lot of fun, and I really love the angel/vampire relationship, but I did have some issues with it. For instance, the constant (and oftentimes ridiculous) statements of love. Enough already! I also really didn't understand why Brandon and Cornelius couldn't be together? It seemed... I don't know. If he was truly worried about what Mael though, shouldn't he have talked to Mael? Anyway. Fun book otherwise :)

I really liked this book. The only trouble is near the end it just gets a little too...sappy? I just thought after all the struggle things shouldn't just click. It was just like suddenly Mael just gave in. It didn't fit. I totally adored Brandon. I really hope he gets his man in the second one.

Really fantastic read and characters, but I would've liked to see more of Mael and Cian's relationship. Brandon/Cornelius's relationship was really awkwardly written at the beginning, and I would've preferred to see the author focus on developing Mael/Cian rather than these two. It's not their book! But other than that, I really liked it!

First of all, who doesn't love the concept of a forbidden romance? An angel and a vampire. The storyline had me hooked from the beginning to the end. The sexual tension which later culminated into intense attraction between Cian and Mael makes this book one I revisit when I've the time.

I picked this novel up about three months ago and decided to finish it today. I would have to say that it has a decent tale to tell however I fear that it was poorly delivered. This seems to be more like Yaoi fan fiction than anything else. Still I may crack open the sequel tomorrow.
