Welcome to the Arcadia, Manhattan’s most seductive address.
For almost a century, the exclusive Art Deco apartment building overlooking Central Park has been home to passionate, star-crossed lovers. Now a new generation is about to discover the obsession and mystery hidden within its luxurious walls.
When smart, gutsy Emma Whittaker returns to the building where she grew up, she’s only hoping to gain a foot-hold in a city that has turned cold and hostile since the exposure of her father’s multi-billion dollar financial fraud. Instead, she meets the one man who can make her forget all the hard-learned lessons that life has taught her and tempt her to risk everything, even her heart.
Lucas Phelps is New York’s premiere realtor, the confidant of stars, tech moguls, and oligarchs, gatekeeper to the city’s most sought after properties, none more so than the Arcadia itself. At ease in the world of the wealthiest and most powerful, Lucas has long since hidden his true nature behind steely resolve. But his deepest yearnings will return to haunt him when he crosses paths with the one woman capable of shattering his hard-won control and unleashing his darkest desires.
As the betrayals of the past and the dangers of the present collide within the Arcadia, Emma and Lucas will struggle to overcome both before they can make the future their own.
Josie Litton is the author of several NY Times and USA Today bestselling romances.
Married and living in Connecticut, she is the parent of two grown children. Becoming an empty nester has left her plenty of time to write, think about writing, plan what to write next, and read. When she isn’t doing that, she’s cooking, gardening, and traveling.
There are lots of cute-meets, but this one was super original and I couldn’t help but chuckle at the way it all went down. This is insta-attraction in a situation that most would probably not consider appropriate, but I thought it was perfect.
This couple absolutely sizzled across the pages as they not only get to know one another, but have to maneuver through the minefield of their pasts. While there is always the shadow of Emma’s past threatening them both individually and as a couple, this had a lot of couple moments. Fun and laughter is a large part of their relationship with a healthy dose of desire to prove the chemistry between them.
I love when a hero doesn’t realize how alpha he is until he meets the right woman. Such is the case with Lucas. He never knew he had a caveman mentality until Emma turns his life upside down. Watching him fall for her was fun as well as sizzling.
”Sweet heaven, I hungered for her. I couldn’t remember ever feeling such raw sexual need. But not only that, I also wanted to pound my chest, swing my club, and keep every other male on the face of the earth from so much as breathing on her.”
The mystery at the center of the Arcadia is discussed but never really delved into but I loved the potential it held for future books. Relatively low angst, this has a lightning fast pace that moves us forward despite the lack of drama. However, when trouble arises, the angst gets down and dirty and man oh man but my heart hurt for both of these characters.
I enjoyed the heck out of this book and wish I had pulled out back when I first purchased it. Lesson learned – all Josie Litton books should be read ASAP!
I couldn't get into this book. I finished it, but there were portions I skimmed through. I didn't care about the actress and her politician boyfriend. Overall, I found Caress to be pretty boring. I can't imagine it ever being broken up into multiple books! I'm glad I read the Allure series before this one. I love that series! I doubt I would have given it a try had I read this book first. I'll still read other books by this author since I know she's capable of entertaining me. This just wasn't the book for me.
Surperb series. Joli has outdone herself. Had to keep stopping reading and allow myself to breathe. Great author. Can't wait to read more of her work. Thank you Joli. Love and suspense with twists. Delicious
A mystery within a mystery within an erotic romance. This is what this book is about. A really engaging plotline which had me on the edge of my seat. I loved the immediate erotic connection between Emma and Lucas and the way they could not keep their hands off each other or think about each other when not together. Neither of them knew about the thread that connected them from their pasts and this was very intriguing. Oh so steamy and such a really good read. I am now reading the second book in this trilogy and so far this is just as good. A highly recommended read and another superb book from Josie whose writing is all so engaging.
Well we finally meet Chase and let me tell you ladies that it's worth the wait. He's this alpha male, sexy and so loveable that he makes your heart melt. He helps out a friend who might have some legal issues or criminal issues but when Marisol walks into the picture all bets are off for him. In that split second he falls hard. Marisol is the daughter of said friend and when she learns that life has dealt her with some bad situations she takes it with a grain of salt. They are the cutest couple. Now onto the last book. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.
I loved this book! The story drew me in and kept me reading! I couldn’t put it down! Lucas and Emma were perfect together! Their chemistry was sizzling! I loved the mystery surrounding the Arcadia and it’s potential to continue in future books in this series! Emma has a mystery of her own to figure out! Caress is an entertaining book full of mystery, suspense, love and hot, steamy sexiness! Josie has given us a great story and the start of a fantastic series!
Josie Litton's book Caress: the complete series (ARCADIA) is so hot. Lucas and Emma's love burned so hot my pages were scorched! Five stars for Caress by Josie Litton. This book has some suspense and a whole lot of combustible hot erotic love scenes. So find a copy on Amazon or Kindle, Goodreads or any supplier of your choosing and lose yourself to Josie's great storyline.
I absolutely loved Josie Litton's Caress....There is instant chemistry the moment Emma stumbles out of dumbwaiter and into Lucas's arms. This is an amazing story about 2nd chances, finding your strength begin again, all while finding yourself.. Josie did it again, a perfect addition to the Arcadia family.
This series is great romantic suspense without the angst being centered on the relationship between the main characters. I absolutely loved these two emotionally mature, caring people finding love. This book has mystery, suspense, a Broadway dancer and a hot, alpha boy scout. What more could you want? I voluntarily reviewed an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.
Caress is full of suspenseful moments. Two characters are drawn to each other by accident. One is vulnerable and slowly becomes stronger. The other is strong and powerful, and he slowly becomes more vulnerable. However, the storyline did leave me with some questions. A steamy read.
I love this book the storyline is great and well written how the author writes such great books and makes it suspenseful just keep you interested in the book
Lucas and Emma have steamy chemistry and their story is intense with loads of drama and suspense. The story is fast-paced with plenty of twists and turns. An enjoyable read.
