A dollar bill inside a chicken egg. An Orca who drags her across the Puget Sound for a chat with her dead husband. A lover who conjures a 4th of July fireworks show in October and then disappears. Channy Adams is having a strange month, and she's determined to find out why - beginning with an anonymous novel that seems to be describing bits of her life. A mind-bending lark from the author of The Popcorn Girl
Michael J. Vaughn is the author of 29 novels, including Punks for the Opera and Mermaids' Tears. He is also a fine arts painter, and drummer/vocalist for San Jose's El Camino Revival Band.
I wanted to love this book so bad. I really did, but it just wasn't in the cards. After finishing the book I'm so ridiculously confused that I need a one on one conversation with the author for answers! Channy is the lead character, she's had a rough life and seems to maneuver through it despite odd occurrences. I mean, random moments like finding dollars everywhere even inside an egg kinda occurrences.Thats what confused me. Everything seemed so chaotic and unrealistic while being written in an entirely realistic way. Does that make sense? I don't want to make any spoilers, if you choose to read this book I want you to go in with an open mind. Please read this book. Its definitely worth reading. I wanted to toss this book in frustration multiple times but just know....it gets better. 😅
This book was so strange. I really didn't find it interesting until about half way thru, then I liked it, then it got weird again. I just don't know what to think. Maybe a writer that can write a story, that draws characters from his previous books into one, in which the characters think they are real, and then realize they aren't but have a relationship with the writer anyway, is just really creative and emotionally invested in his works. I don't know. Like I said, it is a very strange story.

I've done a lot of drugs, but nothing ever got this weird. I still need to digest but I'm thinking this bummed me out. Then again, it's entirely possible that we're all somebody's fiction, and they're not as mindful of the shit they put us through. 🤔
