The year is 1918 and many men and women have left for the war, a good portion of those remaining have died of the Spanish Flu. The woman awakes to find she has lost her memory and with no one initially coming to claim her, she is invited into the theater. Growing close to the actors, she begins to help them tend to the flu sufferers in town. However, she witnesses mysterious exchanges between them and people who come and go in the night, and things seem hushed around her. As she begins to dream of a faceless man whom she is certain she promised her heart to, she is torn by her attraction for the enigmatic theater owner, Ehren.
