Amber has been kidnapped by her family. The only one to have seen it is her uncle and the whole household is up in arms. They have to get her back! As they try to form a plan as they await Zach's return, she asks the fae for any help they can give. A bundle of herbs is her answer and they trust Hope to brew the best potion possible. Not all the family is involved and thus division has began to split the family. Will they find her in time? Will they be able to battle the shifters and the witches that make up Amber's family. A great read with a plot that will remind a lot of people of their own families.
This is the last book in the Witches of Hemlock Cove series and it was a very fitting way to end the series. The story picks up right after another mystery has only partially been solved. As everyone starts to settle in. Zach has left the police force to become a P.I., Amber has joined the police force to be able to spend more time with Zach, Dario has moved in with Grace and Hope has been spending more time with the family, mentoring Amber. Zach leaves town to go to a training course. Everyone thinks Amber went to work early, until her supervisor calls to find out where she is. Hmm, Amber is missing. During the ensuing chaos and older gentleman shows up on the front porch. Grace immediately recognizes him as the shape shifter/owl who has been hanging about. Turns out he is Amber's uncle and he reveals that Amber is a member of a long-line of shape shifters and the family has kidnapped her for the power she has. The story has many stories, secrets, but the Angelos are tasked to rescue Amber and bring her back. Read the story, it is exciting and really tells a different kind of story than the other 9. I recommend reading them all, in order, even though most of them can stand alone.
A lovely ending to a good series! I'm so sorry to see such an interesting series end, but I'm glad Kennedy Chase gave us closure (with thanks for the reminders at the beginning.)
Amber is kidnapped by her family - Grace, Dario and Zack are joined by Amber's great-uncle to rescue her before the family forces her into a ritual that might make her insane or even kill her. Grace finds new strength in her own powers and Grace's bond with Dario grows while the team faces increasing danger from the darker members of Amber's family.
A good read! I will definitely re-read the entire series to pick up on the smaller details I may have missed!
The last book in this series. The book starts out with reintroducing everyone and recapitulating the most important things that happened previously in a clever way. And then, wow, immediately you get drawn into the story, immediately it becomes suspenseful and page-turnery. Although there is also a lot of talking, planning and waiting. Amber has been abducted by her dangerous shifter family and needs to be rescued.
I thought it was amazing! A beautiful HEA!
I received a complimentary copy of this book and voluntarily posted an honest review.
This series has gotten progressively better and better with each book. Now just when it's really getting interesting, it's over? I know, I know, authors get tired and want to write something else, and it's a mark of growing skill to want some change. I've certainly seen the opposite--writers afraid to leave a tried and true formula in a hohum series and there are a hundred books. But I am sad to see Grace Angelo go. Maybe we could someday see a spin-off series? Amber and her hubby? One of the new characters?
Grace, Dario and Zach along with Amber's Uncle Douglas must hurry to save Amber from the ritual her estranged family has planed for her...and time is running out. With a little help from her fae friends, and her family, the foursome is able, just barely to get to her and stop the ritual that would end in either madness...or death. The friends have their work cut out for them. I received an ARC to peruse and recommend this paranormal cozy for those interested in this genre.
I gave it a four because it dragged at the beginning. I almost didn't read the book because of that and I would have missed an enjoyable time. Don't pass this up you will be sorry. The family aspect of shifters and witches is something we all face; the different sides we take on issues but this is more in extreme. I still have relatives who don't speak after years over who remembers what. Have fun and think about your family reunions and the yelling lol
Can't wait for the next book! I loved this ❤️ Series of books. The characters were so we'll written and I felt like I was a part of the family. The last book the one I'm reviewing now was a great ending to tie up some loose ends but it still leaves me wanting more and more books about Grace and her world!!! 10 stars!!
I liked it, but I'm a bit disappointed by it as well. As the finale to the series, it was too short. I would have liked a little more conflict with the shifters, and perhaps a little more training for Grace and Dario.
I have enjoyed all the books in this series. They could each stand alone, but as a whole they bring you through the growth of the characters and their connections to each other. Looking forward to the next one.
This stories about this family their powers their weaknesses their fears their doubts their relationships all together a great story of family overcoming challenges that they faced
By her own family no less. They want her to become a shifter or die, they don't care which. Grace, Dario, Zack and Amber's Uncle Douglas go to Boston to rescue Amber.
Radiant resolution was a fast paced read. The characters were known to the reader from the last witches of hemlock cove book. Never did I expect the ending.
I enjoyed all the books in this series so far. But the last three had a little more to chew on. I hope Ms. Chase continues this series because she has opened so many possibilities
