I have the honor of being named the Poet-in-Residence at Dzemal Bijedic University in Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina for 2017-18. I will be doing workshops and readings around Bosnia (perhaps other countries in the region), teaching ESL which is my part-time job at Wichita State University and doing my writing. This will be my 10th visit to Bosnia but the first time I have lived in country. I am excited and look forward to our time in Bosnia. I have twelve collections of poems published with my 13th book being published by January, 2021.

Seemed like a good book of poems. Easy to read and very personable. One of my favorite poems by the author is called "BRIDGE CLOSED ____ MILES AHEAD" I also loved the stanza from one of the poems that states, "Cattle are always testing the fence like all the prayers we say hoping to move God" Pretty good poems to help you reflect. I wish the book itself was a better quality maybe with a few pictures or even a better cover. Has great potential to be great!

I received the copy of this book in a First Reads giveaway.

Anyone who loves the power of the poem, please turn your eye to these pages. I read this before going to sleep and the rhythm coupled with the author's careful consideration of life from his philosophical yet compassionate view turned my mind upside down. I slept well, my heart feeling like I let it beat a bit harder than before I read this book.

I wouldn't put this book down, it's full of amazing poems, some that now are too dear for me because the words, ah they really get you!
And it's way more than poems, it's like there's some back-story in there, like some poems even have a life of its own!
Highly recommend them!!!
On my way to read the next book of poems by again, Michael Poage!

Every poem in my opinion is open to individual interpretation. I found that my interpretation of these fine poems were mostly morose and dark.

If you enjoy the more staid side of poetry, then you are going to love these poems.

I won this book through goodreads. Anyone who loves the power of the poem, please turn your eye to these pages. Easy to read and very personable. This book was filled with more then poems they were filled with life and words that are expressed so well they don't feel like words.

There are some really good poems in this book. Love, loss, death, aging, war... These poems cover a wide range of topics, and they are touching, warm, and -- at times -- cold and heartbreaking.

I recommend this book to serious poetry lovers.

This book filled with melancholy poems, tugs at your heart strings. I haven't reviewed such a book before and it does not seem to be my cup of tea but I am giving it 3 stars for the way it did move me.
