Some practical advice concerning potty training. I got some ideas on how to make my son more interested in trying to go (he loves the stickers we picked out at Target today). Nothing terribly groundbreaking here, but helpful for a first time potty-trainer.

Read this as part of the list of books I've read on this subject to get ideas for training my special needs son -- offers lots of the basic information. Pro: the author is very encouraging that every child needs a different method and it's okay to be a late trainer. Con: not a lot of ideas directed to the special needs population, and the sparse mention of special needs populations was outdated/ offensive (referred to a plan called "Toilet Training for the Retarded", which is like those plans that claim to potty train your child in 3 days, except with the addition of discipline).

This book came with a cute book to read to my little boy while "potty training." The guide gives LOTS of different methods and tips for potty training.
What I liked is that she gave references to different companies for products you might need to use such as bedsheet protectors, "green" diaper choices, etc. I would chalk this up to the referecen guide to all toilet training ideas out there. It includes EVERY possible issue and a solution.

The resource pages are most likely out-of-date (and a little heavy in the author's own works), but I liked that this book offered a smorgasbord of tips and ideas instead of a "one right way" to toilet train your child. Good, quick overview of the process, and gives realistic expectations about how long it might take!

This book didn't have any new information for me. Everything that was in the book, I had already read on the internet. Not super helpful.

I liked this book because it addressed some of the logistics and gave a general idea of all the products, methods, and ideas that are out there. It's a good starting point.
