3.5 stars. better written that the other book i read in this series however it was also extremely repetitive and the formatting was still pretty dreadful. I did learn a lot about Monet and thought it was informative and a good starting point to learn.

Birgit Zeidler's illustrated biography of Claude Monet is a beautiful introduction to Monet's “Life and Work.” “Life and Work” is the subtitle of the book. The book is part of the Art in Focus series. The book is translated from German into English by Paul Ashton with the help of the firm of Goodfellow & Egan. Monet lived between 1840 and 1926. Each of the seven chapters of this short book has a timeline of events in both the life of Claude Monet and the World’s history during his Lifetime; the book is only 91 pages but covers a great deal of ground. The book includes a glossary of terms used in the text. The book has large print text and is very readable. The first five chapters focus on different parts of Monet’s life until 1889. The last two chapters of the book are on Monet’s series of paintings such as "The Haystack Exhibition" (68-69), the "Rouen Cathedral" (70-71), "The Backwater of the Seine" River (72-73), and finally of the city of "London" in Great Britain (74-75). The last chapter is on Monet's paintings of water lilies, which include the death of Monet. The book includes an “Index of Works” (94) and an “Index of Names” (94-95) at the end of the book. Felbinger and Aston’s book is a beautiful introduction to the “Life and Work” of Claude Monet.

Non so nemmeno quante.
