These are great for autistic/mentally handicapped/retarded/ or slow learners. Great to include them and build confidence and observational skills.

Excellent book for little learners to help with color recognition as well as an introduction to seasons, spring especially. Perfect for anyone who loves Dora The Explorer.

The text in this book has illustrations AND smaller text under the illustrations to help you know what the author wanted the picture to be within the story text. (Like there will be a glob of purple and under it 'purple' or a picture of a camera and under it 'camera') This helps not only for the learning child to know what they meant; but for those of us reading these books out loud to non readers it helps us to be able to read and not have to stop and try and figure it out.

This story Dora and Boots set out to add pictures to their season book. It encourages the reader to pick out colors on the pages and various other things. One thing I did like about this one versus some of the other Dora books. Is the interactive part with the reader was at the end of the text on each page and so as we're reading out loud you can choose to not read that part for the interaction.

Cute little story about Dora the Explorer traveling with her friend, Boots, to take pictures of butterflies. This Ready-to-Read book includes pictures in the text of words that occur often to enable young children to "help" read the story and to begin to recognize those words over time. Colors and counting are featured.

My youngest walks around all day, "Ok, I be Dora and you be Boots." I'm always the sidekick, but she LOVES this squatty little explorer so much. I include this book in my list to help me remember these days.

I've been told that these books are educational. So why do my brain cells atrophy and die every time I read them?
