4/5 stars: I really liked it.
This is a 2009 book so if you're looking for current history you should skip this one. However, it is a good introductory read on Uruguay. It provides a complete overview of history, politics, economy, and culture that's just enough to get you fairly well acquainted with this diamond-shaped country.
Now... I just need to visit and enjoy it on my own.
