Rate this book
Without You was Em's story. This is Cam's. Cameron McKinney has spent most of his adult life taking care of his mother and trying to keep her addiction under control. Endless days and nights of worrying make Cam's life unpredictable and mundane. But when he decides to spend a night out with friends rather than go straight home to his mom, his worst fears become reality. After nearly losing his mom to her addiction, Cam's guilt begins to consume him. Deciding to leave everything and everyone behind in Dallas, he packs everything he owns into his car and moves two hours away. Two months after leaving his mother behind, Cam has begun to piece his life back together. Finally having taken his life into his own hands, he is swayed into a night out once again. But who he meets makes him question every decision he's ever made for himself. Emiline Ward is unlike any woman Cam has ever met. Somehow with one look from her deep brown eyes, Cam's world is shattered. Unable to keep his distance, he fights his feelings for a seemingly unavailable woman under impossible circumstances.Cam must decide whether Em would live a better, more fulfilling life without him or risk breaking promises to the one woman who reminds him that forgiveness and love make life worth living. Without Me is the companion novel to Without You. It can be read as a standalone.

This is an excellent debut novel from an author I believe will become a big name in the business. Once I hit about the third or fourth chapter, I didn't want to stop reading. There are a few minor faults early on, but once Brittany Taylor hits her stride, this book becomes addictive. When I saw trouble coming for Em, (the main character) I wanted to say "Don't go to that party..." It also had me truly guessing as to what she would do, and who she would end up with. I hope Ms. Taylor continues to write - there are great things ahead for this talented author.

Within the first few pages of Without You I felt a connection to the main character, Em. I kept thinking to myself, "This poor girl!" This book has all the feels and will definitely pull at your heart strings. I liked the relationship between Em and her best friend, Sara. Very well written. I really liked Cam and was hoping their story got a happy ending! This book is written from Em's perspective and the follow up book, Without Me, is from Cam's. (Of course I immediately read it.) Both books are must reads!

This was a great debut story! The beginning was heart breaking, then a little slow moving, then it was just a great story. Em went through some traumatic losses in her early life that made it difficult to believve that people wouldn't leave her. Having her heart broken by Ben was just the tip of the iceberg for her...until she meets Cam. Cam is just everything that one wants in a romantic hero, and he wants to be everything to Em, but he's leaving for the Navy soon. Can these two overcome all of Em's hangups, or will things completely change for them?

I loved the main characters Em and Cam. There were some times that I wanted to just throat punch Em though...sometimes her fears and thought processes just made me angry. The supporting cast was a great addition to the story!

I was so happy with the way this story ended. I cannot wait to see more from this author!

The beginning was a little slow to me, but I read the last half in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. I felt like I emotionally connected with Em very well, even though in the beginning I felt that it may have been more well suited toward me in my early twenties (I'm 28 now for reference). I can't wait to read more of Brittany's books when she writes them!

The first part was a little hard to get into, but once Cam is introduced and their connection is brought to life you get hooked. Good plot line, interesting characters and good writing. Can’t what to see what she writes next

So good! So well written! Routing for Em and Cam! Sex is great, but a good love story is better!
