Well-researched with sources listed; a fascinating look at fairy-oriented animism. The author is very skilled at noting her experiences aren't universal and doesn't over-personalize the text, while also giving enough examples to add life context for the reader. Some typos, but those read mostly as editor failures rather than a lack of skill on the writer's part. This was an enjoyable read!

If you think solitary Fairycraft is the path for you, start with this book. The whole book is good at defining what the beliefs. How to work her style of magic. Morgan does a wonderful job of introducing the reader to the basics, the mythology and the reality of working with the Fae.

"Fairy Witchcraft is a religion and also a magical practice, but most importantly it is a world view."

When you attempt to explain what it is to work with the Other Crowd, you are often met with a sharp intake of breath. After warning people that this practice is not all goodness and light, I am usually told that "it could be if you willed it to be so". Sorry folks, that's not how things work in this realm and certainly not in Theirs.

As with all of Morgan Daimler's work, this book is extremely well-researched. It is the second in a three book series and takes you a bit deeper into what it means to walk the Path of Fairy Witchcraft. If you pick up this book expecting yet another volume dedicated to tiny, gossamer-winged creatures who "love to help us", this isn't the book for you. If you are interested in learning the true nature of the Other Crowd, as well as how to safely and respectfully work with Them, then I recommend this book highly.

A welcome addition to my library, I am certain that I will be referring back to this book time and time again.

Morgan Daimler is one of my favorite authors and is an authority on faery witchcraft. It is through her writings and teachings that I discovered my own path. This book changed my life! The connection between faeries and witches is ages old and Daimler brings the old Fairy Faith forward into a more modern neopagan context.

Daimler says:

“…When a neopagan witch chooses to follow the Fairy Faith and blends the two together, the result is a new system, which I am calling Fairy Witchcraft, that uses elements of the beliefs and practices of both to create a whole. It is a way not just to honor the fairies, but also to connect to them and to the Otherworld on a deeper level…”

Daimler, Morgan. Fairycraft: Following The Path Of Fairy Witchcraft (p. 1). John Hunt Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Several years ago, I experienced a miraculous event that opened my eyes to the world of faery. While on a walk one morning in early November, I met a fairy elemental. I never fully understood the experience until I read this book. That one event has since become the catalyst that moved me forward on my own pagan path.

I had no idea how to begin my education as a solitary faery witch, and as usual, I searched for a book to show me the way. Surprisingly, Morgan Daimler had me covered!

What you’ll find inside this tome is a wealth of history and knowledge about the path. She covers the early beliefs, the gods, faery etiquette and protection, the ancestors, the sorts of tools and your ritual spaces, and much more. The author delves deep into Irish traditions explaining the myths behind the magic.

Of particular interest to me was the term, “fairy doctor.” This was a person who was called upon when fairy involvement was known or suspected, which usually meant there were some sorts of spell or affliction placed upon a human. The fairy doctor would then figure out the best cure to free the person from the affliction.

This fairy doctor or fairy witch was open to teaching her skills and passed on her knowledge to her children. My youngest daughter is now the recipient of this knowledge. She’s inherited my gift of plant magic and now is interested in the faery faith.

Forget everything you thought you knew about the fey. Ditch the glitzy Hollywood version of fairies you grew up with and learn the history and mythology that will set you on your own path.

A introduction to Fairycraft. Just touches on the tradition of Witchcraft. A bit of theory and practical exercises. As a mention the main focus is communication with “hidden folk” so unfortunately I feel that there was a bit of fear mongering. Just my opinion.

Morgan Daimler is a gem as always. This is a basic witchcraft book to start one off on the path of becoming a "fairy witch," and it doesn't feel like a rehash of all the same information like most basic witchcraft books do. There is uniquely a fairy path book that I will be gladly rereading and encooperating information from into my personal practice. The information given is practical and not all huge rituals to perform. Morgan Daimler does a great job explaining how to encooperate big ritual into practice as well and gives information on not just light magic! It's refreshing to finally see an author acknowledge explain that dark and grey magic is often needed for balance in one's practice and not just focus on light magic. And for the cherry on top, they bring information on fairies from multiple cultural perspectives (irish, Scottish, welsh, norse) while acknowledging where the folklore originated. This is a book that I borrowed from my public library and will be definitely purchasing after this for my own personal collection.

Fantastic book. So in-depth that I had to read several sections more than once, just to make sure it stuck in my head. The references are fantastic, with the oldest and very recent and in between. As an amateur folklorist, I was very impressed with the thoroughness.

The witch/magickal/fairy items were well done. The sidhe parts matched up well with histories and lores, although my own personal lords and ladies are different, that’s not a big deal. They could be different or just appearing different. They’re fae, so who’s to know?

I enjoyed the personal gnoses, as well, and the bits on children, although at my age (late 40s) and experience, it was more affirming than informative.

Highly recommended.

A thorough exploration of the myths, legends and beliefs that surround the faerie beings, very complete, perfect for those who want to delve into the subject, base their religious and magical practice on it, and connect with this interesting world. The author left no stone unturned, topic unexplained, or point unexplained. Full excellence!

A great book for every witch who wants to know more about the fair folk and about how to work with them.

In the instruction Morgan Daimler says "[...} Fairy Witchcraft as described in this book is the summation of my own personal practices, developed since 1991. It weaves together the different threads that have influenced me: the Irish Fairy Faith, neopagan witchcraft, Druidism, Celtic Reconstructionism, Germanic folk beliefs, and Heathenry. Although this book is intended to offer a complete system of practice, it is also intended to be flexible so that individual practitioners can modify it to fit their own approach. [...]" and this discribes the book perfectly.

I mostly use this book as a reference guide, but I've finally read it cover to cover. I love it because it's what finally pushed me over the edge from cautiously being interested in witchcraft and the otherworld, to being a practicing witch and active in the fairy faith. Morgan Daimler will always be a good point of reference for me.

This book is an excellent work to learn about the fae. It does not remain on the surface, so it is mostly for those who have a little knowledge/experience in the subject. The author adds her own UPG and experiences in a way that is pleasant to read, without being annoying or boring at all. An excellent book for the followers of the faery faith/craft.

Morgan Daimler writes the best books on Fairies, period. i use them to teach. They are factual, perfectly researched , and not confusing, as so many are, nor do they insult your intelligence by being simplistic. I recommend them all, as highly as I can,
