Logan McKenzie liked his life exactly how it was -- with no surprises, and without a wife.
Then Logan learned his mother was about to marry for the third time, and that Darcy, his very pretty stepsister-to-be, was in danger of being hurt by that marriage. So he found himself getting involved -- not only in trying to prevent the forthcoming nuptials, but with Darcy herself...and his carefully controlled existence was turned upside down!

Ahhhh! Who - in their right minds!- let you publish this book?! It has so many exclamation marks! Followed by - another thing that drove me crazy! - dashes in the middle of sentences - including punctuation normally used to end a sentence!
I'd like to have someone read this book out loud to Ms. Mortimer so she could see how her sentences would really sound with all those exclamation marks. I had a really hard time even getting through this book because of her truly unorthodox uses of punctuation.
The story itself isn't so bad. I kind of liked the hero. Although I kept imagining him and the heroine shouting at each other since every other thing they said ended in and exclamation mark.
I'm guessing this was the last hurrah of some editor being let go at Mills & Boon Great Britain in 2002. Really what editor in their right mind would let this get through without making the author re-think her misuse of punctuation?
I'm an aspiring author myself, and although I know my own writing isn't perfect, I'm keeping this book right in front of me on my shelf as encouragement. If Carole Mortimer can get this published I can surely get my work published too. It will also serve as a reminder to lay off the exclamation points!

I've found this to be charming novel, really fast pacing and funny at moments. The thing with exclamation marks!stands, there are lots, but I'm glad previous comment didn't stop me reading, book is far from profound and emotional but really likable! Heroine and her father are both chefs and you feel like standing in madman's kitchen, heroine behaves like PMSing whole time as well-she either cries in hero's arms or kicks him, puts bowl of whisked egg-whites on his head, but is actually infuriated with her feelings and lack of his! She loves her father but never being in love before doesn't understand how can he marry, not even a year after her mother died,to that actress who happens to be LOgan-hero-'s mother who, naturally, looks 20 years younger... Add severed relationship between son and mother, few well meaning cousins and friends and stir till they all lived happily ever after!!!
i like Darcy's personality, i really didn't expect her to pour the eggs over Logan's head hahahaha, that was soo funny, i can imagine his face
there were too many unnecessary talk in the story, and it end up quickly, i wanted more events, specially between the Darcy and Logan,
still i like it, now i'd like to read the other 2 books of the "Bachelor Cousins, i like those three actually, i hope the other two books will be much better
This was a good start on a 3 book series. I laughed, cried and everything in between. Looking forward to reading the next one in this series. Excellent.
