China is a nonfiction book, this book was written by Kim A. O’Connell. It talks about the culture of china. I learn some interesting facts, the first fact is about the population, there is 1.357 billion in 2013. The capital of China is Beijing. It’s located in Eastern Asia. I also learned about the religions there is 1% to 2% Muslim, and 3% to 4% Christian. The President of China is Xi Jinping, the currency is Renminbi. The National Holiday is the October 1 they celebrated the Anniversary of the Foundation of the People's Republic of China. They celebrate this since 1949. The other fact was that the flag of the People's Republic of China features a red field with a large yellow star in the upper left corner, four smaller yellow and five-pointed star arranged in a vertical arc are to the right of the large star. In China, they speak many languages but the most important one was Standard Chinese or Mandarin. The type of government in China is a Communist state. The last fact is the Highest Point. That is Mount Everest(bordering Tibet and Nepal), the world’s highest peak at 29,035 feet(8,850 meters)
There are five facts about China, the first one is Capital of China that is Beijing, the second fact it’s the type of government, that is a communist state. The third one is about the Land Area. There are 3,705,386 square miles. Next, there is literacy Rate 86% overall. The last one is the President of China is Xi Jinping. My friend will be interesting to read this book because they are many interesting facts. And some people are studying China and this book can help them a lot. This book is a nonfiction because the facts are real and the event that they told us in the book are real. And it’s history but a fiction because it's a short story or a novel, that it's imaginary it's not real.
I recommend this book to middle school, I especially recommend it to 6 grade because when they will be in 7 grade they will need it. There're not many pages so, it will be easy for them. The best part of the novel is when they gave us more than 10 facts there were really interesting. They explain to us about the status and everything. I already knew all those information that why it was the part that I dislike the most.
