Good base plot but very "abridgeable"

Lots of extraneous dialog and scenes. Only half of it was necessary. I actually skimmed through a lot of the hearing, and the extraneous detailed relationships between minor characters. Editors need to pay attention to what need to be in there.

Almost a 4. One of the best Book Bub books. Characters with depth, great pacing, interesting plot.
Overly technical plus had difficulty keeping characters straight

Gripping story

At last we see Christopher Hodder-Williams at his best. Aviation novels are his forty without a doubt, this book has been really difficult to put down.

John is shocked when his brother is killed when his plane crashes. Suddenly John is the owner of an International Airline. John known absolutely zilch about running an airline or avionics, nor has he ever desired to. As he scans the books and check out the logbooks John begins to wonder if the plane crash really was an accident. With the board resenting his what they consider interference in the running of the business and wanting him out of the way John delves deeper. The more he learns the more questions he has. Where are the missing logbook pages? Was the reason the plane crashed on those pages? Was the crash really accident? Did someone know the plane was unsafe? Did Pete die to get him out of the way because he knew too much? What does the letter from Eric to Bettina mean. She swears it was not Eric's style and talks of things that never happened? Did someone know the plane was unsafe? Did someone help it crash? So many things to ponder, but the answers could save John from joining Eric from suffering an "accident".

Christopher Hodder-Williams has penned a suspenseful thriller that will have you turning each page in anticipation. Final Approach has subtle clues to guide you with well developed characters within a storyline that flows logically and smoothly. A wonderful book that will appeal to any mystery reader. Final Approach is a winner from the first word to the last.

An exciting thought provoking story of an airline whose CEO dies in a plane crash.
John Emerson the CEO's brother takes over and very soon finds things are not quite as they should be.
This novel is relevent today as when it was written in 1960.
Will look out for more from this author.

Even with the relatively short page count, this book felt like it dragged. Perhaps it was just not my cup of tea, but I could simply not get into it. Dialogue is the method by which this story is told, but it feels clunky, lacking realism and flow. Not a book to lose sleep over if it collects dust on your shelf.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book.

Boring

Started out OK but evolved into an endless courtroom dialogue. I rarely don't finish a book but gave up on this one about halfway through. Characters are flat and uninteresting.
