Dr Richard Halvorsen brings together the latest medical knowledge on all modern child vaccines (age 0-15yrs), as well as the diseases they aim to protect against, including the ’flu virus. The guide includes what is known about the link between vaccination, autism and other auto-immune diseases, and what parents can do. Dr Richard Halvorsen has added clinical information from his practice as a general practitioner for almost three decades where it is useful to parents, as well as a quick reference. autism, ’flu, smallpox, diphtheria, tuberculosis, polio, tetanus, mumps, measles, rubella, whooping cough, meningitis C, pneumococcus, hib, swine flu, the ‘6-in-1’ vaccine, MMR, HPV, rotavirus, hepatitis B, meningitis B.
This is a helpful overview for parents who are trying to make informed decisions about childhood immunisations. The book includes a chapter on each vaccine in the UK schedule, covering how and why it was introduced, the severity and prevalence of the disease it protects against, the vaccine’s effectiveness, and any potential concerns or side effects. There are some editing mistakes and formatting issues, but overall, it’s a useful guide.
Carefully written, researched and referenced - this book was very readable and thought provoking. I felt that the author's approach was very balanced and respectful of people's right to ask questions and think things through for themselves.
An in-depth compilation of research which highlights how grotesque our vaccination system has become. It shows the depth to which the pharmaceutical industry has influenced government decisions and the risk this poses.
Very few doctors today research the true safety and efficacy of vaccines. When they do, it can be quite an eye-opening experience. This is one medical doctor that took the initiative and also wrote an excellent and well-referenced book to explain his findings. One of the more interesting chapters is entitled "When Is Polio not Polio?" The answer to this question is simple: "when the WHO is trying to eradicate it."
It's worth reading this book just to hear the explanation of how several illnesses which are more common these days would have been diagnosed as polio in years past, if the diagnostic criteria were not changed.
His discussion on Mercury is also alarming. As he writes, "It his hard to believe that one of the most toxic elements known to man has been injected into babies for over sixty years without anyone ever ensuring it was safe to do so."
I've met several adults that have never had any vaccines and I am meeting more and more people these days that question the vaccine agenda and have not vaccinated their children. They are some of the healthiest people I've met.
DNF after 4 chapters when I found information from Skeptical Raptor poking large holes in some recommendations Dr. Halvorsen gives. An article from the British Journal of General Practice points out some research errors the author has made. Initially, I had looked for a highly rated book on vaccines by a doctor, but evidence always wins over credentials.
