“Your need to protect me is downright laughable. Who the bloody hell is going to save me from you, huh? No one has ever devastated me as much as you!” Nearly a decade after Chelsea Whittaker’s first experience with heartbreak, she’s alone again, this time coping with the tragic end to her disastrous marriage. With a child to raise and a full-time career, the last thing on her mind is dating. Especially eligible obstetrician Scott “Doc Hottie” Reinhardt who has seen her at her worst—in the middle of childbirth! But when Scott coerces her to join him at a charity event, she agrees, and finds herself enjoying his attention. His timing seems perfect until her first love, Jack Robertson, moves to town. Unattached and better looking than ever, he’s come home for good. Will Chelsea’s lingering anger toward Jack be enough for her to resist his charms? Can she learn to trust and believe she too deserves a new beginning?
Ricki has been a fan of romantic fiction since her teen years. As a reader, she often found it difficult to let go of the characters and often imagined writing additional scenes.
In what will become her four-book series, The Ties that Bind, Ricki allows her characters to experience life and love, along with all the trials, heartbreaks and joys that accompany them. Prepare to revisit these heroines and heroes in subsequent stories. She adds a dose of humor to lighten the journey as these couples search for true happiness and finally, peace within themselves.
As a former Minnesotan, Ricki set her first book A New Beginning and her second book Only in My Dreams in a Minneapolis suburb. Her third book will take place in Atlanta Georgia, where she now lives with her husband, close to their three grown children and their families.
Ricki and her husband enjoy Las Vegas and an occasional getaway down the road to the tranquil Georgia mountains. You can find Ricki on the web at www.rickidagosta.com and on her Facebook page. Ricki Dagosta’s Author site.
I received an advance copy of this novel, which is set to come out in January, 2018. This was a wonderful read, with plenty of emotion and some cute/funny spots. I loved the main character—especially as she is different from many MC's in so many romance novels these days. She had an endearing strength to her, having taken her past romantic lessons to heart. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!
This is a well written romance with strong characters and a heartfelt story line. The author brings all the feels in this sweet romance with tons of emotions and weaves a realistic story. She keeps you glued to the pages with all the twists and turns along the way. The story moves at a steady pace and is an entertaining read. I'm looking forward to the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were so believable and I was totally drawn into the storyline. I appreciated the variety of twists and turns in the plot as it kept my interest throughout the entire book. I must say that I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series! Thank you for the great read, Ricki Dagosta.
I really enjoyed this book, it had characters you loved and some you loath, a story line that touches you, some good laughs, highs and lows and the need for Chelsea to get her happy ever after with the right guy not the wrong guy! I highly recommend you get comfy before starting this as you wont be putting it down until the end.

A great second chance story that kept me turning pages. I found myself laughing at the elevator scene. The story makes you feel like you are there watching it happen. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Chelsea is in a hard place after the death of her husband & birth of her new son. Stuck with all his debts her life is difficult. Scott, who also happened to deliver her son, shows interest but only a more benefits style relationship. Which at the time suited her until Jack, her first love makes a reappearance. Who will she chose?
Her mum has only one person in mind & makes life difficult. Jack is also her brothers friend so there is a lot going on. At times it did get a bit heavy & I felt bogged down with it really going nowhere. Plus it took me awhile to get into the story. Scott showed his true colours & I didn't find him very likeable & Jack too had his moments.
Overall it was a decent read with Chelsea navigating her way into a new life after the death of Brian.
Ricki Dagosta is one of the finest upcoming authors I’ve ever seen. She really knows how to have you dive deep into a story and leave you wanting more! You can tell she really knows what she’s doing at that she loves doing it! Can’t wait to read more from her and I hope many of you do your selves a favor and read her work. You won’t regret it.
A New Beginning by Ricki Dagosta has been on my to-read list for a while but I thought it would be great to start off the New Year with a book called A New Beginning. I regret that it has taken me so long to read this book, but I am happy that I waited until the New Year. I wasn’t expecting such a deep and emotional story when I started it. A New Beginning is filled with strong characters and twists that I wasn’t expecting. A New Beginning is the story of second chances and was a great start to the New Year. I really enjoyed many parts of this book. A New Beginning was very easy to get sucked into from page one. From the beginning, I really felt for Chelsea, and I wanted her to have a happy ending. I am also extremely happy about who she ended up with. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but one guy was great if not a little frustrating at the end of the book. The other guy was totally creepy. Their relationship would have been unhealthy. This book also had some really unexpected twists that I was not expecting at all. I am happy that I had the opportunity to read this book and am looking forward to the next in the series.
*I received a free copy of the book for review from the author via Voracious Readers Only*
Sometimes the book seemed scattered. I did not connect with the characters at all. The characters felt forced. I really hated when Chelsea was one minute doing something then the next sentence taking a bath, the next sentence in bed where is the transitions!? I would not recommend.
