About the author

Sujatha was the allonym of the Tamil author S. Rangarajan, Author of over 100 novels, 250 short stories, ten books on science, ten stage plays, and a slim volume of poems. He was one of the most popular authors in Tamil literature, and a regular contributor to topical columns in Tamil periodicals such as Ananda Vikatan, Kumudam and Kalki. He had a wide readership, and served for a brief period as the editor of Kumudam, and has also written screenplays and dialogues for several Tamil movies.

As an engineer, he supervised the design and production of the electronic voting machine (EVM) during his tenure at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a machine which is currently used in elections throughout India. As an author he inspired many authors, including Balakumaran, Madhan.

சுஜாதா இதை எழுதுவதற்காக என்னை எப்படி வேண்டுமானாலும் எண்ணி கொள்ளுங்கள் - எப்படி வேண்டுமானலும் அழைத்துகொள்ளுங்கள் என்ற முன்னுரையோடு the second sex என்ற simon de bouviour நாவலை தழுவி எழுதியதே இந்த "எப்போதும் பெண்". Boldly crafted novel.
தாயையோ - மனைவியையோ - சகோதரியையோ - காதலியையோ - தோழியையோ புரிந்துகொள்ள திணறும் ஆண்களுக்கும், தன்னை தானே புரிந்து கொள்ளாமல் ஒரு "பெண்" என்பதால் weaker sex என்று குறைத்து எண்ணிக்கொள்ளும் பெண்களும் நிச்சயமாக படிக்க வேண்டியது ! :)

Being a boy I have never thought too many things on a girl, always had empathy on women but seldom had on girls . But now feel each kid becoming a girl is the most difficult phase. A very big transformation for a human being in a very short notice. Might be every girl going through this stress changes their entire thought process, behaviour, character, confidence, emotion, sentiment and what not.

I have seen as a kid, not much difference between genders but difference starts creeping in @ 10 and things go far apart after 12. Till reading this book I always thought it to be because of age, but have never felt the world to be so different for genders the moment a being reaches teen. Teenage for boys and girls are two different poles , boys in one hand blessed with independence and girls cursed with stress and this book made me realise it strongly. From then on genders never come near till death bed ofcourse except for sex.

Though this book portrays the challenging and cursed life of a orthodox women, it is the above period of book which is very shocking for me. Might be after this book I will understand other genders better than what I am used to till now. I have always felt my father as a role model but this book made me realise how big a role model my mom too is.

If you are a person who has always felt female gender to be a non happy set, read this book you may realise why. I would firmly recommend all genders to read this book as it gives better understanding or realisation on female gender. Go for it

பெண்ணியம் குறித்தும், பிறப்பு முதல் இறப்பு வரை பெண்கள் பயணிக்கின்ற வாழ்க்கையின் மனோதத்துவ பயணம் குறித்தும் மிகவும் எளிதான முறையில் எடுத்துரைக்கிறது இந்த நூல். இந்த நூலைப் படித்து முடித்த பின்னர் அவர்கள் மீதான அக்கறையும்,காதலும் அதீதமாவதை நிச்சயம் உணர்வீர்கள்!

பிறப்பு முதல் இறப்பு வரையிலான ஒரு பெண்ணின் பயணத்தை மிகவும் நெர்தியாக கொடுத்திருக்கிறார் சுஜாதா அவர்கள். இதை படிக்கும் எந்த ஒரு பெண்ணும் தன் வாழ்கையின் கடந்து வந்த ஒரு சில பகுதிகளை இதனூடெ ஒப்பிட்டு பார்க்க முடியும். ஒரு பெண் இந்த புத்தகத்தை படிக்கும் போது நடுத்தர வர்கத்து பெண்ணின் மீது ஆணாதிக்கம் எவ்வாறு படிகிறது என்பதை தெளிவாக பார்க்க இயலும். ஒரு ஆண் இந்த புத்தகதை படிக்க நேர்ந்தால் கண்டிப்பாக பெண்ணின் மேல் உள்ள மரியாதை ஒரு சதவிதமெனும் உயரும்.

This book was a surprise package from Sujatha sir. Once again it's a genius work. Understanding body and mind of a women from outside is a difficult task. This book can be treated as a novel or as a body science.
