Bien le bonjour, voyageur ! Soyez le bienvenu à Legenderry, une Terre alternative où se croisent vos héros préférés. Une aventure extraordinaire illuminée aux becs de gaz et propulsée à la vapeur et à l'adrénaline !
If you haven't read Legenderry recently, don't read this, as there are a lot of characters and some plot bits from the previous series, so it may be confusing. Which is a little weird, as it's not like this is plot heavy, but yeah.
The art isn't great and often looks samey with the facial expressions. Some of the buildings and other background stuff looked too modern. Vampirella's costume is still dumb, but it's the color scheme which I hated the most.
To say something nice, some of the fight scenes were good.
I don't recommend. There wasn't anything really stand out or amazing about it.
In this book, set in Dynamite's "Legenderry" universe Vampirella trades her monokini for a corset while thrashing a menagerie of steampunk villains and henchmen. This is not high art but the story is relatively coherent and entertaining.
This is basically Vampirella in a Steampunk setting, which I found intriguing enough to check out. However, I had never read the "Legenderry" comic series before, and I think that left me a little in the dark regarding some of the characters.
I probably would have enjoyed it much more if I had been more familiar with the other characters, but it still was a decent read. Van Helsing and Dr. Moreau pop up, as well as the lesser known Black Bat.
Overall a good story with plenty of action, and the art was nice as well. The whole story felt just a little off to me, but as I said earlier, I think it was just my own lack of series knowledge rather than the story itself. If you're both a Legenderry and Vampirella fan, I would think you'd really enjoy this one.
Unlike the other Legenderry stories, this one is a lot more sombre, though with about the same level of violence. It's just as fast-paced as the rest, but sadly not as enjoyable. The Legenderry universe ends on a low note with this story.
Vampirella is angry because her business was shut down by the Council. She will kill her way right into the Council where its plans to take over the city are put into play. The deus ex machina at the end ruins the whole thing.
This is the best of the Legenderry series so far. It is the most Steampunk of the series both visually and in plot. Vampirella's character worked well in this setting as did her world of conspiracies and monsters. The artwork isn't great but the Steampunk is well-imagined. I enjoyed this book and would rate it as a good story if it stood alone but by setting it in a fully realized Steampunk world it had become one of my favorites.
Not nearly as good as the Legenderry miniseries that started this little Steampunk version of Dynamite. Vampirella's steampunk costume is far better than the regular one she normally wears. Not much of a coherent plot here though. You also need to have read the original miniseries to get this too.
I only skimmed through the final two and a half issues or so. I got bored pretty fast and it felt like an effort to stay into the story, because the characters talk fancy and give little to no reason to care about the events. I’m at least a minor Vampirella fan, but admittedly not much into steampunk. This one isn’t for me.
apparently this is steampunk, which means stovepipe hats and dirigibles, also features a Vampirella story but is quite lazy & could have been better. Seems to forget she is a vampire (albeit one from space) on occasion.
