I was expecting this book to be kind of a merchandise guide, based on the cover. That's only a small portion of the book, unfortunately. It's essentially an oversized magazine article introducing the main cast and comparing them to other TV families from across the decades. Being that this book was published in 1990, Springfield and its inhabitants aren't quite as developed here as they would become, but it's interesting to see what an impact the series made on culture, even with just one unrefined season under its belt.
