While you have it, cherish it before it's gone

We can't change the way things are. "If you can't love the one you want, then love the one you're with!"

To be young, stupid, and in love mixed with some teen pregnancy, a dash of hustling, flavored with baby mama drama, and seasoned in family feud!

NOW THAT'S AN EXPLOSIVE MIXTURE!

"When you look at me" is a forthright story about the lives of Tamlyn A. Blake, a 17-year-old single mom struggling trying to make it on her own. Be anything besides another statistic! Can Tammy rebuild or is this as good as it's going to get in her case?

Hassan Colbrith, a 23-year-old ex-con hustler. Trying to do right, but he's not patient. Trying to feed a kid is hard work so Hassan goes to the streets. The main thing worrying Hassan is stepping off like his Dad did him and his mom. Can Hassan stay clear of his father wicked ways?

As the two join you see the effect that their volatile love has on the lives of all the people directly and indirectly involved. More importantly it's the impact that it has on their future. The love they share in changes things for them both negatively and positively.

Will the good outweigh the bad in Tamlyn and Hassan's relationship?

This is a very lucid story that I am certain everyone will enjoy.

Thanks Tee-Tee for the recommendation!

What Do You See?

When you look at Tamlyn Blake, do you see yourself? She is your typical teenager determined to live her life her way. Well the part she missed is that there are rules you have to follow in life.

When You Look At Me takes you on a journey back in time during the defiance and determination of Tamlyn who believes like most that she's right, you're wrong. She meets Hassan, and deems it as love at first sight. Like all teenagers she has all the answers. That is until the truth comes crashing down.

This story is so rousing. It shows why parents are the way they are. I greatly urge others to read this great story written by Undra E. Biggs.

When You Look at Me is an okay book. The characters are fairly well developed and attractive to the reader but the writing does need some help in other places. I had to fight to keep attention at certain parts. The editing is poor but I expected that upon picking up the book and looking at the back cover.
It's not a book I'll be talking up to people and I wouldn't press anyone to go buy it but if it's in front of you and you need something to read it'll probably do. It could have been a lot better ~ even with just proper editing the book would have been better.

In short Tammy falls for someone on the wrong side of right and meanders through a toxic relationship. Someone recommended this book to me and I thoroughly enjoyed it from the start all the way through.

I couldn't put this book down & when I tried to I played it out in my head . I read it once EVERY year.
Tamlyn asked
"When you look at me what do you see"...
When I first read this book I was 20 and I never asked that question to anyone before.. This book felt as if someone took a sneak peek into the lives of so many of us teenagers who

started out believing we are right about it all....wanting to try new things and Not miss out on Living, being the good girl but wanting something a little bit more, then suffering the consequences of it.
tammy triumphed But at the cost of having to do everything the HARD way.
2 lessons learned by the end
1. if you can't love the one you want love the 1 you're with.
2. love who loves you.

The language at times was difficult to read. The tale spun kept me up nights, sometimes till the wee hours of the morning to learn what was going to happen next. I like that feeling, the way she drew me in so smoothly. Everyone I've shared it with really enjoyed the book too. I shared it with a friend who was reluctant to read it.
