Welcome to the Launch Your Own One Pound Challenge Resource Book. This book has been written to enable and encourage others to take on the One Pound Challenge adventure. It is written with a focus to launching an event with a group of participants, specifically schools (primary and secondary), universities, colleges and charities. However, the book will also help individuals take on the challenge, giving insight into key skills that can be learnt through the adventure. The book has been written after much encouragement from others who have wanted to launch their own One Pound Challenge. From raising money for charities, developing entrepreneurship skills in schools to earning a little bit of extra cash for an upcoming holiday, the One Pound Challenge is a great solution. The previous One Pound Challenge book recalled the story of my own challenge from £1 to £20,000 in one year, yet did not outline practically how it was achieved. Therefore, this book provides more of a practical ‘how to guide’ for those wanting to take on the adventure for themselves. The book is a guide to planning, launching and getting the most out of your own journey. It poses questions to think about when wanting to launch your own event and how you can make sure you get the most out of it in a variety of settings and end goals. The book is split into three sections to help inspire, plan and run your Running a One Pound Challenge - Event Short sections answer some of the key questions about what the One Pound Challenge (hereafter cited as OPC) was and why you should consider running one yourself, through to how to begin and getting the most from your event. Each chapter has sections dedicated to specific challenges for running a OPC with schools, universities, colleges and charities.2. Sessions outline - Written as workshop session outlines with learning objectives, key tips and activity ideas. They are designed as full sessions but can be cut and changed to the audience and time available. The sessions do lend themselves more to school use, or as a CV building training event for enterprising university and college students. Yet, the individual will benefit from a read through and application of some of the key tips.3. Resources - A copy of a participant work book is included in the back of the book. This is a short booklet for participants to log their progress, track their finances and review the key transferable skills they have learnt. It is designed to be easy to use and help participants through the event. I hope you find the book a useful resource to plan and run your own successful event. Please do register your event on the website and join the growing OPC community.www.MyOnePoundChallenge.co.uk
