This is the first novel I've read by Pamela Ridley...it's a TOUCHING tale with some paranormal activity surrounding the main characters...with a full cast of believable characters living an ordinary existence...while making and/or accepting EXTRAORDINARY changes and/or choices that happen in their daily lives...it's about a woman taking a second chance at love...the May/December romance between Chelly and Sean is heartwarming and SENSUAL...the story is also about the coming together of an estranged father and son as they ATTEMPT to live together...with the father, Kelvin, SADLY accepting his inevitable fate and trying to make up for his past...while his son, Sean tries to FORGIVE Kelvin for those mistakes and/or shortcomings...during an EXTREMELY short span of time they each learn to love and respect one another...even though I find this story a bit slow at times...it's still an INTRIGUING read...loaded with heartaches and FINALLY some joy.

Sean Price visits his dying and estranged father, Kelvin. During Sean's visit, he meets Chelly. Chelly is both his father's friend and landlord.

Chelly has a complicated past which complicates her present as well. Her 8-month-old baby, husband, and mother-in-law all died in a plane crash. Since theren, Chelly get 'visits' from her daughter that help to comfort her in her grieving process. Despite all of these complications, Sean still falls in love with Chelly. However, Sean has to do much convincing to get Chelly to fall in love with him.

Kelvin's father dies, but not before Chelly is pregnant with Sean's baby.
