Tabitha didn't think much of her new neighbor, figuring the immaculately dressed, surly man next door would turn tail and run the second he got the chance. He doesn't strike her as the small town living type, proving that point when he insults half of the community, effectively isolating himself.
No one is more surprised than her when they begin to form a tentative friendship that slowly evolves into something more.
When Tabitha realizes she's falling for the smarmy hunk next door, can she put a stop to it before he goes back home to his fancy life of before?
Perhaps she's about to find love when she least expected it...
(This is William Geralds' story from Jingle Belled & Mistletoed)
Tabitha aka 'Bit' and William. This was a pleasant surprise. The dialogue and interactions were sweet and silly in a quirkily funny way. William is not an 'Alpha male'. He's in fact, a selfish arrogant snobbish twit. Yet somehow the author made me like him. Perhaps it was that he has a sense of humour and didn't back down. When he moves next door to Bit, it's snarky teasing back and forth from the get go. He's been sent there by his dad to teach him a lesson in humility? commitment? or something... Without his normal cash flow and swanky life style he is like a fish out of water. But one thing becomes clear, and that is that his so called friends, were not there for him when he needed them. This is only the beginning of self revelations that would have been so very painful for him, if not for the 'friendship' of Bit. The story is a bit predictable and some of the characters are very formula, but I really enjoyed it.
I can't help but gobble up Jeanette's books. They are all awesome including this one. I love how laid back and care free Bit is, and how snooty Will can be. Such a great ending. I wish that each book left an opening for another character to have their own story. I would love to see Elliott fall for a city girl...maybe hog tie her and bring her home. Lol.
It was hard to enjoy this one because the hero was a spoiled, snobby, entitled ass.....and he didn't really improve much as the story progresses. (Shrug) Not recommended
This book was ridiculously witty. Tabitha Monroe is a talented, famous artist, but she doesn't want people to know so she goes by Bit. Bit lives in a small town by the water where everyone knows everyone, they look out for each other, and they all get along. Bit's brother also lives in this town with his pregnant wife (who was Bit's best friend first) and their 2 boys. Toby pops in on his sister frequently. Tony was at his sister's house when a stranger pulls into the house next door. A strange who looks like he does NOT belong in their town. Mr. Fancy Pants looks rich, snooty and extremely angry while shouting into his cell phone. Later that day Bit sees the elderly Mrs Schloops dog, Snuggles, have Mr. Fancy Pants cornered and literally climbing the porch railing to get away. Bit comes to the rescue, however he is not very thankful. Then Mrs. school co!we and he threatens to call animal control next time....that need spreads and alienated him to the whole town. Bit finds a drink Mr. Fancy Pants, now know as William, on her porch one night when he mistakenly though it was his own. Bit is such a great character. She is sassy, sarcastic, witty, fun, smart, and talented. Her brother Tony is a lot like her, also a great character, just not as ballsy. William just needed a kick in the rear to grow up and see what is really important in life, then go get it. I really enjoyed this book. It is extremely well written. It has such interesting character with so many different personalities. I like the idea of Bit hiding her identity so people get to know her for her and not her fame. This has all the feels a romance reader looks for, steamy sex, some laughs, and a HEA.
Another adorable read! I was mad at will getting a story, but then as I read on i was a happy mess reading about his messy a** getting a happily ever after. I'm a big believer in sometimes letting go of what ur use too and meeting someone way out the box, these two are so different it's borderline freakishly cute. I loved how this friendship blossomed, bit was there for this jack**** at every turn no matter what, it just took our prissy pants a while to realize it, that this in fact is what love is, what being in love was, and what being loved back felt like. Learning that nothing compared to that feeling, not money, or what ppl thought, our will did some serious growing here, and I was glad he finally became someone that bit deserved.
